INSTALLATION GUIDE
Thank you for purchasing ACTi products and solutions. The following
documentation covers basic installation instructions of cameras that will be used
with your MGB device.
NOTE: The accuracy of the analytics algorithm may be affected by different
environmental factors or inappropriate installation. Please follow the
procedures in this guide. ACTi will not be liable for inaccuracies resulting
from the aforesaid causes.
Part 1: Camera Environment Settings
Normal brightness, no additional lighting
• Lights should be distributed evenly.
• If there is a strong backlight, it is recommended to use a WDR wide dynamic
camera.
• Target object should be walking normally
• The angle between the camera and the target face should be less than 15
degrees from the horizontal plane.

Part 2: Recommended Face Recognition Settings
• Face orientation:
Up / down within 20 degrees Left / right within 35 degrees
• High quality image, minimum resolution of 720p
• Minimum face size entry: 100x100 pixels or at least a distance of 50 pixels
between the eyes
Recommended face size entry: 150x150 pixels or at least a distance of 75
pixels between the eyes
Recognizable minimum face size: 70x70 pixels or a distance of 35 pixels
between eyes = equivalent to a camera resolution of at least 583 pixels per
meter
Recognizable recommended face size: 100x100 pixels or at least 50 pixels
between eyes. Equivalent to a camera resolution of at least 833 pixels per meter.

Part 3: Effects of Resolution and Focal Length on the
Detection Range of the Face
The following estimates are based on the minimum pixel requirement of at least
583 pixels per meter (583 px/m). A higher the resolution will achieve better
results, for example, 833 pixels per meter (833 px/m).
