Introducingthesystemtolibrarystaffandpatrons

Theintroductionofaself-servicesystemfundamentallychangesmaterialflowwithinalibrary,so3Mstronglyrecommendsthat yourentirestaffshouldbeinvolvedduringthepreparationphase.Althoughthesystemisdesignedforintuitiveuse,yourstaff shouldbepreparedtoassistlibrarypatronsduringsystemintroduction.
3Mrecommendsusingthismanualforperiodictrainingsessionswithlibrarystaffsinceitcontainssafetyinformation,machine specifications,commonlyusedprocedures,andotherinformationusefulduringday-to-dayoperations.Also,pleasemakethis manualaccessiblewhenthesystemisinusesoitcanserveasareferenceguideduringoperation.

Operations

Turnthesystemonandoff

UsethepowerswitchtoturntheSelfChecksystemon.Forinformationonshuttingthesystemdownandonrestartingthesoftware, seetheSelfCheckManagerUserGuide,whichisincludedontheuserdocumentationCD.

Loadprinterpaper

Usethefollowingproceduretoloadanewrollofpaperinthe printer.
1.OpentheprinteraccesscoverattherearoftheSelfCheck usingthekey.The3M thecoveropen.
2.Swingthepaperretainertoggletotheunlockedposition and,ifpresent,removetheusedpaperspoolandanypaper remnantsintheprinter.
3.Withthepaperrollpositionedtounrolltowardtheprinter asshown,slidethenewpaperrolloverthetoggleandonto thespool,thenswingthetoggleintothelockedposition asshown.

4.Withprinterpoweron,feedthepaperendintotheslotnear thetopoftheprinter.Theprinterwillautomaticallyload, align,andcutthepaper .

•DoNOTuseanyabrasivecleanersonsystemenclosuresurfaces.
Instructions
•Cleanthesystembygentlyusingasoftclothdampenedwithwateroramildcleaningsolution.
•Cleanthemonitorbyusingpre-moistenedtowelettesthataresoldspecificallyformonitorcleaning.Ifthesearenotavailable, useanon-solventbasedcleanertodampenasoftcloth.
•Cleanthebarcodescannerwindowregularlybywipingthescannerwindowwithaclean,dry,cotton-tipswaborcottoncloth.
•Cleanpaperdustfromtheprinterwithacompressedairduster.

Adjustthetouchscreenmonitor

Touchscreenmonitordisplaycharacteristicsarepresetatthefactory.Donotattempttochangemonitorsettings—nouser serviceablepartsinsidethesystemenclosure—contact3MServiceforrepair.
Ifyouwishtomakeadjustments,useonlytheDisplayPropertiesadjustmentsavailableinWindows.
