Power on safely
Do not power on the device when and where prohibited or when it may cause interference or danger.
Road safety comes first
Obey all local laws. Always keep your hands free to operate the vehicle while driving. Your first consideration while driving should be road safety.
Interference
All wireless devices may be susceptible to interference, which could affect performance.
Turn device off in restricted areas
Follow all warnings. Turn device off in aircraft, near medical equipment, fuel, chemicals or blasting areas.
Qualified service
Only qualified personnel may install or repair this product.

Use only approved accessories. Do not connect incompatible products.
Water-resistance
Your device is not water-resistant. Keep it dry.

The wireless device described in this guide is approved for use on the CDMA 800, 1700, 1900 and 2100 MHz networks. Contact your service provider for more information about networks.

Let’s get started
Thanks for choosing the ZTE Score (Model # X500). It’s a CDMA2000 1X EVDO Digital Mobile Phone, which we’ll simply call ‘phone’ from now on. Under the Android operating system, the phone supports 3G high-speed internet access, which brings you brand new experiences.
To ensure proper phone operation and longevity, please read this guide carefully. And don’t worry if the pictures we use to demonstrate your phone’s functions look a little
different from what you see on its screen. It’s the functions it shows that matter.

Inserting a memory card
1. Open the memory card cover on the right side of the phone and insert a memory card.
2. Push tightly until the card is installed in the right position and close the card cover.
3. Before you take out the card, please open the card cover and press the card inward to unlock.
Note:
This phone supports memory cards. For details on the compatibility of memory cards, please consult your manufacturer or supplier.

Using the battery
Inserting the battery
1. Open the battery cover on the back of your phone.
2. Align the battery's contact points with those of the phone and gently press the battery
down into place.
3. Replace the battery cover clicking it back into position.
Removing the battery
1. Switch off your phone.
2. Open the battery cover.
3. Lift the battery up and out of your phone.

Charging the battery
The rechargeable Li-ion battery that comes with your phone is ready to use but is not charged. That’s easy to do. We’ll show you how below.
The first three times you use the battery, make sure it’s completely drained before recharging, then recharge it fully. That will help to ensure its optimum performance and a long life.
1. Connect the charger to your phone and plug it into an 110V/220V socket.
2. The battery indicator in the notification bar will scroll up and down to show you it’s charging. Please don’t worry if the phone and charger become warm while charging. That’s completely normal.
3. When fully charged, the battery indicator will stop scrolling.
4. Disconnect the charger from your phone and unplug.
Battery handling information
Do’s
• Only use the battery and charger manufactured by ZTE Corporation.
• Only use the battery for its original purpose.
• Try to keep batteries in a temperature between 41°F (5°C) and 95°F (35°C).
• If the battery is stored in temperatures above or below the recommended range, give it
time to warm up or cool down before using.

• Store the discharged battery in a cool, dark and dry place.
• Purchase a new battery when its operating time gradually decreases after fully charging.
• Properly dispose of the battery according to local laws.
Don’ts
• Do not attempt to disassemble the battery - it is a sealed unit with no serviceable parts.
• Do not short circuit the battery by carrying it in your pocket or purse with other metallic
objects such as coins, clips and pens. This may critically damage the battery.
• Do not dispose of the battery in a fire.

Press it to open a menu with items that affect the current screen or application.
Press it to open the home screen. If you’re viewing the left or right extended home screen, press it to open the central home screen.
Press and hold the key to open the most recently used applications screen.
Press it to open the previous screen you were working in. If the onscreen keyboard is open, press it to close the keyboard.
Press it to open Google Search for searching the web. Press and hold it to open Google Search by voice.
Press it to turn on/off the display. Press and hold it to open a menu with options for Airplane mode, for
Silent mode, and for powering off the phone
Adjust the volume. Press and hold it to quickly adjust the ringtone volume to maximum or
minimum.

Screen control
You can control your phone through a series of operations on the screen.
- Press: You can press the items on the screen to select, open the applications or use the
keyboard to input characters.
- Slide: You can scroll up/down the page or scroll the page left/right by sliding vertically or
horizontally on the screen.
- Long press: You can long press some items to get the item’s available menu.
- Drag: You can drag some items on the screen to realize some operations.
- Switch between landscape mode and portrait mode: You can switch to the landscape
mode by rotating your phone. The landscape mode is only valid under some interfaces, such as text input interface, message viewing interface, etc.
Open and switch applications
Open and close the Launcher
On the home screen, press the Launcher up or down to view more.
After opening the Launcher, press an icon to enter the corresponding application. Press the Back key to return to the previous screen. Press the Home key to return to the home screen.
Switch to a recently used application
Press and hold the Home key. A window opens with icons of applications that you’ve used recently. Press an icon to open its application.

Tap the icon to view all installed applications on the phone. Tap and hold the icon to view the home screen thumbnails.

Open and close notification panel
When a new notification appears on the notification bar, you can drag the notification bar down to open the notification panel.
On the home screen, you can also press the Menu key and then press Notifications to open the notification panel.
Press a notification to open it in its application. To close the notification panel, drag the tab at the bottom of the notification panel to the top
of the screen.
Display area
The home screen can be extended to exceed the screen’s width in order to provide more space for newly added shortcuts, widgets, etc.
On the home screen, slide your finger on the screen to extend to the left or right.
Screen indicator
Small dots at the top of the screen indicate which screen you’re viewing.
Add items to the home screen
Long press the empty area on the home screen to pop up the Add to Home screen menu. Select Shortcuts, Widgets, Folders, etc.
You can add icons from the Launcher to the home screen by long pressing an icon in the Launcher until the icon enlarges and the phone vibrates.
Move an item on the home screen
1. Press and hold the item until the item enlarges and the phone vibrates.

2. Drag the item to your desired position and then release.
Tip:
Pause at the left or right edge of the screen to drag the item onto another home screen.
Delete items on the homepage
1. Long press an item until the item enlarges and the phone vibrates.

1. On the home screen, press the Menu key and then press Wallpaper.
2. Select wallpaper from Gallery / Live wallpapers / Wallpapers.
3. Select one image and press Set wallpaper.

Switch to sleep mode
Sleep mode is a kind of power saving mode, which prevents against inadvertent operations. If your phone has been in idle mode for a while, it will automatically switch to sleep mode. You can also press the Power key to turn off the screen and enable sleep mode.
Note:
Within 15 minutes after the screen is switched to Sleep mode, the network will automatically disconnect; as the screen is awakened from Sleep mode, the network will connect again.

Wake up your phone
After the phone switches to the sleep mode, the screen will be turned off and locked. In this case, please awake your phone and unlock the screen if you want to use your phone.
