RF Exposure
General Statement on RF Energy
Your mobile device contains a transmitter and a receiver. When it is ON, it receives and transmits RF energy. When you communicate with your device, the system handling your call controls the power level at which your device transmits.
16
Specific Absorption Rate (SAR)
Your mobile device is a radio transmitter and receiver. It is designed not to exceed the limits for exposure to radio waves recommended by international guidelines. These guidelines were developed by the independent scientific organization ICNIRP and include safety margins designed to assure the protection of all persons, regardless of age and heal th.
The guidelines use a unit of measurement known as Specific Absorption Rate, or SAR. The SAR limit for mobile devices is 2 W/kg and the highest SAR value for this device was 0.85 W/kg. As SAR is measured utilizing the device's highest transmitting power , the actual SAR of this device while operating is typically below that indicated above. This is due to automatic changes to the power level of the device to ensure it only uses the minimum power required to communicate with the network.
* The tests are carried out in accordance with EN 62311, IEC 62209-2.
Body-worn Operation

Radio Frequency (RF) Energy
This device meets the governments requirements for exposure to radio waves.
This device is designed and manufactured not to exceed the emission limits for exposure to radio frequency (RF) energy set by the Federal Communications Commission of the U.S. Go vernment.
The exposure standard for wireless device employs a unit of measurement known as the Specific Absorption Rate, or SAR. The SAR limit set by the FCC is 1.6W/kg. *Tests for SAR are conducted using standard operating positions accepted by the FCC wi th the device transmitting at its highest certified power level in all tested frequency bands. Although the SAR is determined at the highest certified power level, the actual SAR level of the Tablet while operating can be well below the maximum value. This is because the device is designed to operate at multiple power levels so as to use only the poser required to reach the network. In general, the closer you are to the antenna, the lower the power output.
29
The highest SAR value for the device as reported to the FCC when tested for body, as described in this user guide, is 0.938W/kg for CDMA 850 band.
While there may be differences between the SAR levels of various Tablets and at various positions, they all meet the government requirement.
The FCC has granted an Equipment Authorization for this device with all reported SAR levels evaluated as in compliance with the FCC RF exposure guidelines. SAR information on this device is on file with the FCC and can be found under the Display Grant section of http://www.fcc.gov/oet/fccid after searching on FCC ID: Q78 -V11A.
For body operation, this device has been tested and meets the FCC RF exposure guidelines for use the positions the device a minimum of 0 cm from the body. Use of other enhancements may not ensure compli ance with FCC RF exposure guidelines.
