TheRSU82operateswithaBBUtoconstituteanintegratedBS8800orBS8900.The RSU82forwardsRFsignalsfromantennastotheBBUforfurtherprocessing.The RSU82providesthefollowingfunctionsbyconnectingtotheBBU:
àTerminalaccessandRFlinktransmissionthroughantennas,includingRF
receiving/transmissionduplex,low-noiseamplicationforreceivedortransmitted RFsignals,modulation/demodulation,measurementandreport,powercontrol, calibration,andsynchronization.
àHybridnetworkingofradiosystems.
àConnectionwiththeBBUthroughelectricalinterfacesoropticalinterfaces.The
interfaceimplementsclocksynchronization,transmissiondelaymeasurement anddelaycompensation,IQdatatransmission,operation,maintenance,and conguration.
àPoweramplicationcontrolandprotection,includingoverpower,
over-temperature,andstandingwavealarm.
àPowerprotectionagainstinvertedconnection.
àAlarmqueryduringoperationandmaintenance.
