exi bility ma kes it easy to p osition yo ur Vodafone M obile Wi- Fi to get the b est mobile
coverage.

Press a nd hold the po wer button f or 3 seconds to s witch on you r Vodafone
Mobil e Wi-Fi. I t will begi n connecti ng to the mobi le broadban d network .

You may need t o enter your PI N to unlock your S IM.
Also , when your Vod afone Mobil e Wi-Fi con nects to th e mobile net work for
the r st time, you m ay be asked to act ivate your SI M. Activ ation is not alw ays
neces sary, so yo u may not see thi s.

On your c omputer or de vice, sele ct your Vodaf one Mobile W i-Fi net work’s nam e
(its ‘ SSID’) fr om the list o f availabl e network s, click Con nect and ent er the secur e
Wi- Fi networ k key (the ‘W PA2 passwo rd’). The na me and key are i nside the ba ck
cover of y our Vodafone M obile Wi- Fi and also o n a printed re minder car d.
Congratulations - you are con nected to th e internet v ia Vodafone Mo bile Wi-F i.

the Voda fone Mobile W i-Fi Web ap p:
– Conne ct to your Vodaf one Mobile W i-Fi via W i-Fi or wi th a USB cable
– If you in stalled yo ur Vodafone Mo bile Wi-F i via USB, d ouble-cl ick the
Vodafone Mobile Wi-Fi icon that was created on your desktop
– Alter natively - an d particu larly if you d id not insta ll via USB - ope n

To use the Vod afone Mobile W i-Fi Web a pp via a USB cabl e or via Wi-F i,
you need:

You can als o manage you r Vodaf one Mobile W i-Fi via it s Wi-Fi n etwork ,
but not v ia a USB cable , using:
– Linux or Windows® 8 RT, or

Wi-F i security
Please ensure that the Wi-Fi security settings meet your personal requirements.
To change t he admin pas sword, op en the Vodafo ne Mobile Wi -Fi Web ap p:
– Enter ‘admi n’ into the Pas sword eld a nd click ‘Lo gin’
– Select Ro uter on the Nav igation ba r
– Select ‘R outer Sett ings’ from t he left-ha nd Menu bar.
To change yo ur Wi-Fi n etwork n ame (SSID) an d the key:
– Select Wi -Fi on the N avigatio n bar
– Select ‘ Securit y’ from the le ft-hand Me nu bar.
Wirele ss Protecte d Setup (WP S)
Press ing and hold ing the WPS b utton on you r Vodafone Mob ile Wi-F i for 5
secon ds will sw itch WPS on (a ll 3 LEDs fla sh simulta neously). You can th en
connect any WPS-enabled device without having to enter the network key.

Glossary
Bearer Communication met hod used for dat a transpor t over the mobile net work,
eg. 3G Broadband, HSPA, 3G , etc.
Home network The net work of the mobile op erator who provided your SIM.
Roaming You can use your mobile device on any oth er mobile net work that has a

roaming agreement with your operator, whether in your country or abroad.
SIM Your Subscr iber Identity Module is the small plas tic chip that you will have
recei ved together w ith your mobi le contract . Your SIM h as gold contac ts
on one side.
WPA2 An alter native name for the W i-Fi network key. On Macs with OS X t his is
called ‘WPA2 personal’.
