MODELS:
Yamaha has successfully integrated its highly-acclaimed Command Link® Digital Electronic Control system with its reliable and long-proven F250 outboard. Feature packed with all the innovation, reliability, and long-term value that are synonymous with Yamaha, this new outboard offers the versatility, power, and convenience today’s boaters demand.
CONVENIENCE AND CONTROL
From its plug-and-play type installation to the smooth feel created through electronic control of all throttle and shift functions, Yamaha’s new F250B is the perfect blend of power, convenience, and control. Features like built-in multiple engine synchronization, adjustable throttle friction and neutral detents, and built-in redundancy systems make it the ideal engine with ideal control.
PERFORMANCE
The Yamaha F250B is a proven marine powerhouse built upon a compact and lightweight 60-degree, 3.3 iter (204 c.i.) block. Its Variable Camshaft Timing dramatically increases low and mid-range torque, for surprising holeshot and mid-range throttle capabilities. A speciallydesigned air intake system; coupled with proven Yamaha multi-point electronic fuel injection; delivers, easy, instant starts, fast acceleration, and maximum top end speed. An electronically-controlled single throttle valve feeds individual long intake tracks, which dramatically improves hole shot, acceleration, and mid-range performance. And, because it’s a Yamaha four stroke outboard, you know it’s clean, quiet, smooth, and economical.

RELIABILITY/DURABILITY
Yamaha has taken the new F250B to the next level of reliability and durability, by upgrading its corrosion protection package. Sharing the same special powerhead painting process with its big brother, the Yamaha F350, now the inside as well as the outside of the powerhead is protected with special anti-corrosion paint using an advanced “electro-deposited” process. This helps ensure longer engine life, even in the harshest environments, which means more years of use, enjoyment, and peace of mind.
VALUE
Enhanced reliability. Exceptionally smooth and quiet performance. Outstanding fuel economy. Maximum performance and convenience. All combine to make the new Yamaha F250B an incredibly powerful value, both now and in the years ahead.

Smooth, Reliable Shifting and Throttle
Yamaha’s new Command Link Digital Electronic Control systems are electronically-actuated, meaning there are no cables physically moving. This greatly reduces shifting and throttle effort by eliminating common cable friction. All Command Link Digital Electronic Controls have adjustable throttle lever friction and shifting detents, and feature critical system redundancy for added reliability.
Precise Trolling Control
By just pressing a button on the Command Link tachometer, the operator can adjust the engine’s trolling speed from 600 ~ 1000 rpm, in 50-rpm increments. This helps provide precise and consistent trolling speeds in a wide array of conditions.
CONVENIENCE AND CONTROL
Choice of Control Style
Command Link Digital Electronic Controls come in a variety of styles, including the new 6X7 concealed side-mount. They’re also available in binnacle style for single, twin, and triple engine applications; and all feature smooth, virtually effortless shifting and throttle functions.
Automatic Engine Synchronization
Command Link Digital Electronic Controls feature automatic engine sychronization in twin and triple engine confi gurations during normal cruise conditions. It’s not only convenient, it helps maximize effi ciency and running performance.

CONVENIENCE AND CONTROL
Easy Dual Station Control
Second Station
Command Link Digital Electronic Controls make dual station installations easy and conveninent to use. They feature ‘plug-’n’-play’ water-resistant connections and simple-to-use station selector switches and, since there’s no conventional remote control cables, shifting and throttle functions are a breeze.

More Information
Command Link gauges offer a wealth of information to the operator in order to help provide effi cient and effective operation. There’s even a combination Speedometer and Fuel Management Gauge, to help conserve valuable dash space.
Advanced Technology
All F250B models are equipped with an Engine Control Module that interfaces with Yamaha Diagnostic System software. This provides a view of selected past and current running conditions, to help technicians provide a complete and accurate diagnosis.
Smooth and Quiet
Engine exhaust is routed through a maze before exiting above the waterline through the idle exhaust relief outlet, for unbelieveably smooth and quiet operation.

Reliable and Responsive
Individual intake and exhaust camshafts provide more precise valve timing control and have less moving parts than conventional push rod systems for increased reliability. This superior design also allows for use of 4 valves per cylinder which exchange intake and exhaust gases more effi ciently for responsive power and increased fuel economy.
Hole Shot and Mid-Range Punch
Yamaha’s variable camshaft timing system advances and retards the angle of the intake camshaft to dramatically increase power and throttle response in the low- and mid-rpm ranges. This gives the engine substantially greater torque between 2000 ~ 3500 RPM to provide excellent power to plane.
POWERFUL PERFORMANCE
Fuel Effi ciency
Six individual compact electronic fuel injectors deliver the exact amount of fuel needed for optimum performance and economy. Controlled by the Engine Control Module via input from an array of on-engine sensors, their location just above the intake valves enhances fuel atomization, resulting in more effi cient combustion.
Precise Throttle Control
All air entering the engine block of the F250B is routed through a single electronically-controlled throttle valve, to ensure the precise amount of air necessary for optimum power and fuel effi ciency. The air silencer box reduces intake noise and air turbulence for smooth, quiet operation.

RUGGED RELIABILITY
Long Term Value
Yamaha improved their legendary Ultimate Corrosion Protection System for the F250B. Yamaha’s proprietary alloys, ACP-221 paint process, and freshwater fl ush device are just the start. Multiple sacrifi cial anodes in and on the power head, mid-section, and lower unit; a special electro-deposited paint process that coats both the entire outside and the inside passages of the block and cylinder heads; and a specially-painted and treated exhaust system means better long-term protection and maximum value.
Controlled Operating Termperature
The F250B comes standard with dual pairs of water inlets, for increased cooling effi ciency. Located on the front and both sides of the lower unit, each pair of pick-ups operate independently of each other to provide proper water fl ow in a wide variety of applications and conditions.
Internal Protection from the Elements
The F250B features a proven cowling drain system, to easily and effi ciently drain away any water that enters the cowling during normal engine operation. Incoming air is routed through a labyrinth of passages that trap and drain water before it enters the engine’s intake, for maximum reliability.
Cleaner Fuel
All F250B outboards feature a large, on-engine water separating fuel fi lter with a water sensor. Used in conjunction with Yamaha’s 10-Micron Water Separating Fuel Filter, it helps separate water and contaminants from the fuel before they can reach the outboard’s other fi lters and fuel injectors.
