Carbon Bow Owner’s Manual
Thank you for purchasing this Yamaha Carbon Bow.
In order to obtain maximum performance and for the safe use of the bow,
we urge you to read this Owner’s Manual thoroughly before using the bow.
Cautions Before Using the bow…
Please follow the rules below to obtain maximum life and provide safe use of the bow.
• Do not subject the bow to rough treatment like
bumping it against other objects, dropping it, etc.
• Exposing the bow to the following environments
may be harmful to the instrument’s condition and/
or function.
Please fully understand and protect the bow from
these conditions.
• Direct sunlight.
• Excessively high or low temperatures.
• Excessively high or low humidity.
• Excessive dust or strong vibration.
• Never leave the bow in a car for any extended
amount of time. The extreme temperatures of summer and winter are harmful to the condition of the
bow.
• To clean the bow, wipe with a soft, dry cloth.
• Due to the bow’s shape, it may cause harm when
coming into contact with other persons or objects.
Please keep adequate space between you and those
around you during performance, so that the bow
does not come in contact with other persons or objects. Also, when the bow is not used during performance, never use it in a dangerous manner such as
swinging the bow, throwing the bow, etc.
• When storing the bow in its case, make sure the
bow’s hairs are properly loosened before storing.
Using the Bow
• Apply rosin to the bow hairs before using. Before using the bow for the first time, apply rosin carefully and
evenly to the whole bow. From the 2nd time, apply a small amount of rosin to the bow hairs.
• Before using the bow, rotate the screw shown in the illustration so that the bow hairs become taut. The
bow stick should be concave and the bow hairs should have medium tension and be evenly taut. If the
bow hairs and bow stick are parallel, the bow is too tight and this may result in damage or trouble to the
bow.
• After use, make sure to loosen bow tension. Also, if powdered rosin has accumulated on the bow stick,
wipe the bow stick with a soft cloth to remove the rosin.
Rotate the nut to adjust the bow hair’s tension.
