HOW TO USE

This appliance is for household use only and may be plugged into a standard AC electrical outlet. Do not use any other type
of outlet.

SPECIAL ATTENTION

Your new appliance is designed with a protective coating around the heating elements. When plugged in and operating for the
first time, there may be a little momentary smoking while this coating is initially heated. This represents no danger to the user
and does not indicate a defect in the unit. When using for the first time, allow the appliance to continue heating until the smoke
dissipates. This should last only about 30 seconds.

DETERMINING IRONING TEMPERATURE

• Always check the ironing instructions on the garment label first.

• Sort the fabrics out according to the ironing temperature.

• Because the iron heats up faster than it cools down, start ironing the articles requiring the lower temperatures, and then
progress to the higher temperatures. If ironing instructions are missing and you know the fabric, refer to the fabric chart on
the iron. If you are not sure of the fabric, test by ironing a hidden area such as an inside seam or edge. If the iron drags or the
fabric changes color, lower the temperature and/or use a pressing cloth.

• For blended fabrics, you must always use the lower setting. (For example, a garment with 60% nylon and 40% wool should be
set at the temperature indicated for nylon.) ALWAYS TEST BY IRONING A HIDDEN AREA.

BEFORE FIRST USE

Preheat; move iron over an old cloth several times to remove any residue from the soleplate.

IRONING WITH STEAM

1. Fill the water tank:

a. Make sure that the iron is unplugged and the fabric/temperature dial is in the Off position.
b. Place iron on the heel rest and set the variable steam dial in the Off setting.
c. Pour water into the water tank (Fig. 2). In areas that have very hard water, use of distilled water is preferred. Be careful

not to overfill the water tank. If steam fails to start when using, and iron is in ironing position, gently bump the soleplate on
the ironing board once or twice. This helps to start the steam action. NOTE: Water may drip from steam vents when the
variable steam dial is activated if fabric/temperature dial is set below steam area or if the iron has not been preheated for
1 to 2 minutes. If dripping still occurs after preheating with fabric/temperature dial already in steam area, move the
fabric/temperature dial to a slightly higher setting (cotton or linen).

2. Plug iron into electrical outlet.

3. Set fabric/temperature dial to appropriate setting. In the steam range, these settings are linen, cotton or wool. The

temperature indicator comes on, indicating the iron is plugged in and turned on. The temperature indicator light goes off
when the iron reaches its operating temperature. The temperature indicator light works in both steam and dry ironing.

4. Turn the variable steam dial to the amount of steam desired: Low to Max.

5. For maximum steaming, maintain the water level in the tank.

SPRAY

Depress spray button for a concentrated spray of water from nozzle on front of iron. This is ideal for dampening garments with
stubborn wrinkles. It may be necessary to pump the button several times before water is sprayed.
DO NOT SPRAY DELICATE FABRICS THAT MAY BE STAINED BY WATER, SUCH AS CREPE DE CHINE, SILK, NYLON, ETC.
IMPORTANT:Always pour out any water left in the iron after each use. Be sure the iron is unplugged and in the Off position.
Slowly tilt iron nose down over the sink with the steam vents facing away from you. The water will run out of the reservoir. Take
caution when emptying water, as is may be hot.

DRY IRONING

1. Place variable steam dial in the Off position.

2. Set fabric/temperature dial and begin.

TURNING IRON OFF

1. Turn the fabric/temperature dial to the Off position and unplug the iron.

2. Allow iron to cool completely before storing.

WHEN NOT USING, PLACE IRON ON HEEL REST TO AVOID BURNING THE FABRIC OR DAMAGING OTHER SURFACES.

COMO USAR

MANUTENÇÃO E LIMPEZA

Este aparelho doméstico é destinado somente para uso residencial, podendo ser conectado numa tomada padrão de CA
(corrente alternada). Não use qualquer outro tipo de tomada.

ATENÇÃO ESPECIAL

Este aparelho doméstico foi fabricado com uma película protetora ao redor dos elementos de aquecimento. Ao ser conectado e
operado pela primeira vez, ele poderá emitir um pouco de fumaça durante alguns momentos enquanto a película está sendo
esquentada. Isso não representa qualquer perigo para o usuário e tampouco indica defeito na unidade. Deixe o aparelho
esquentar até a fumaça desaparecer. Isto deverá levar apenas uns 30 segundos.

PARA DETERMINAR A TEMPERATURA CORRETA DE PASSAR A ROUPA

• Primeiro, observe sempre as instruções contidas na etiqueta da roupa.

• Classifique os tecidos de acordo com a temperatura de passar.

• Visto que o ferro esquenta mais rápido do que esfria, comece a passar pelas peças que exigem temperaturas mais baixas e,
gradativamente, prossiga às que exigem temperaturas mais elevadas. Na falta de instruções de passar e já ciente do tipo
de tecido, consulte a tabela de tecidos no ferro. Quando em dúvida sobre o tipo de tecido, faça um teste numa área oculta
como a de uma aba ou costura interna. Se o ferro se arrastar ou o tecido mudar de cor, baixe a temperatura e/ou use um
pano para passá-lo.

• Para tecidos mistos, você deverá sempre usar o ajuste inferior. (Por exemplo, para uma peça com 60% de náilon e 40% de lã,
o ajuste deverá ser feito na temperatura indicada para o náilon.) FAÇA SEMPRE O TESTE DA ÁREA OCULTA.

ANTES DO USO INICIAL

Pré-aqueça o ferro e passe-o várias vezes sobre um pano velho, a fim de remover qualquer resíduo da sapata.

COMO PASSAR ROUPA COM O USO DE VAPOR

1. Abasteça o reservatório de água:

a. Certifique que o ferro esteja desconectado e que o dial tecido/temperatura esteja na posição Off/O (Desligado).
b. Coloque o ferro no descanso e ajuste o dial de vapor variável à posição Off/O (Desligado).
c. Coloque a água no reservatório designado (Figura 2). Nas regiões que têm água muito dura (salina), o uso de água

distilada é recomendado. Cuidado para não encher demasiadamente o reservatório de água. Se não sair vapor com
o ferro na posição de passar, bata levemente a sapata uma ou duas vezes sobre a prancha. Isso ajudará a iniciar a saída
do vapor. Observação.: Pode gotejar água dos suspiros de vapor quando o dial de vapor variável está ativado e o dial
tecido /temperatura está ajustado abaixo da gama de vapor recomendada, ou quando o ferro não tiver sido pré-aquecido
por 1 ou 2 minutos. Se o gotejamento continuar após o pré-aquecimento e o dial tecido/temperatura já estiver na gama
de vapor recomendada, ajuste o dial para uma temperatura um pouco mais quente (algodão ou linho).

2. Conecte o ferro numa tomada elétrica.

3. Coloque o dial tecido/temperatura no ajuste apropriado. Na gama de vapor estes ajustes são: linho, algodão ou lã. A luz

indicadora de temperatura se acenderá, indicando que o ferro está conectado e ligado. A luz indicadora de temperatura se
apagará quando o ferro atingir a temperatura operacional. A luz indicadora de temperatura funciona para passar roupa

tanto a vapor quanto a seco.

4. Vire o dial de vapor variável para a quantidade de vapor desejada: Low to Max. (Baixa a Máxima)

5. Para o máximo de vapor, mantenha o nível de água na reservatório.

SPRAY

Pressione o botão de spray para acionar um esguicho concentrado de água a partir do orifício à frente do ferro. Esse atributo é
ideal para se umedecer as roupas com rugas difíceis de passar. Poderá ser necessário bombear várias vezes para que a água
comece a ser esguichada.
NÃO USE O ATRIBUTO DE SPRAY EM TECIDOS DELICADOS QUE POSSAM SER MANCHADOS COM ÁGUA, TAIS COMO CREPE
DA CHINA, SEDA, NYLON, ETC.
IMPORTANTE:Após cada uso, sempre jogue fora qualquer água remanescente no ferro. Certifique que o ferro esteja
desconectado e na posição Off/O (Desligado). Incline levemente a ponta do ferro para baixo em cima da pia, com os suspiros de
vapor virados na posição contrária à sua. A água se escoará do reservatório. Tenha cuidado ao esvaziar a água do ferro porque
ela poderá estar quente.

COMO PASSAR ROUPA A SECO

1. Coloque o dial de vapor variável na posição Off/O (Desligado).

2. Ajuste o dial tecido/temperatura e comece a passar.

COMO DESLIGAR O FERRO

1. Gire o dial tecido/temperatura para a posição Off/O (Desligado) e desconecte o ferro.

2. Deixe o ferro esfriar completamente antes de guardá-lo.

QUANDO NÃO EM USO, COLOQUE O FERRO NO DESCANSO PARA EVITAR QUEIMAR O TECIDO OU DANIFICAR OUTRAS
SUPERFÍCIES.

CARE AND CLEANING

This appliance requires little maintenance. It contains no user serviceable parts. Do not try to repair it yourself. Refer it to
qualified personnel if servicing is needed.

CLEANING YOUR IRON

Approximately once a month or so you should clean the iron to remove any scales or impurities.

1. Fill the water reservoir to 1/2 full.

2. Place the iron on the heel rest.

3. Plug into an electrical outlet.

4. Turn the fabric/temperature dial to the highest heat setting and the variable steam dial to the maximum steam position.

5. Allow iron to heat up until the temperature indicator light goes off.

6. Turn iron off and remove plug from electrical outlet.

7. Hold the iron horizontally over the sink. Boiling water and steam will begin to flow from the steam holes in the soleplate.

8. Move the iron forward and backward to help expel impurities.

9. When steaming stops, repeat procedure until the reservoir is empty.

SOLEPLATE

1. Before cleaning the soleplate, make sure the iron has cooled.

2. Apply a small amount of mild cleaner to a damp cloth.

3. Gently rub soleplate then wipe with a moist cloth.
NEVER USE scouring pads or abrasive cleaners on soleplate, as this may scratch the surface.

STORING YOUR IRON

1. Unplug appliance and let it cool.

2. Pour out any water left in the iron.

3. STORE IN UPRIGHT POSITION on heel rest.

TIPS FOR STORING

• Never store iron lying on soleplate.

• Never wrap cord tightly around the appliance.

• Do not put stress on the cord where it enters the unit, as it could cause cord to fray and break.

LIMPEZA DO FERRO

Recomenda-se que o ferro seja limpado aproximadamente uma vez ao mês para remover quaisquer depósitos calcários ou
impurezas.

1.

Encha o reservatório de água até a metade.

2.

Coloque o ferro no descanso vertical.

3.

Conecte-o a uma tomada elétrica.

4.

Ligue o dial tecido/temperatura no ajuste máximo e o dial de vapor variável na posição máxima de vapor.

5.

Deixe o ferro esquentar até que a luz indicadora de temperatura se apague.

6.

Desconecte o ferro e tire o plugue da tomada elétrica.

7.

Segure o ferro horizontalmente em cima da pia. A água fervente e o vapor começarão a vazar pelos suspiros de vapor na sapata.

8.

Desloque o ferro para frente e para trás para ajudar a expelir as impurezas.

9.

Quando o vapor parar, repita o procedimento até que o reservatório fique vazio.

SAPATA

1.

Antes de limpar a sapata, certifique que o ferro esteja frio.

2.

Aplique uma pequena quantidade de agente suave de limpeza a um pano úmido.

3.

Esfregue ligeiramente a sapata e, em seguida, enxágüe-a com um pano úmido.

NUNCA USE palhas de aço ou agentes abrasivos de limpeza na sapata, porque podem arranhar a superfície.

COMO GUARDAR O FERRO

1.

Desconecte o aparelho e deixe-o esfriar.

2.

Drene toda água do ferro.

3.

GUARDE-O NA POSIÇÃO VERTICAL, no descanso.

DICAS PARA GUARDAR

•

Nunca guarde o ferro deitado na sapata.

•

Nunca aperte o cabo condutor ao redor do aparelho.

•

Não force o cabo no local onde ele penetra a base do aparelho pois o mesmo poderá desgastar-se e arrebentar posteriormente.



IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

Cuando se use la plancha, siempre deberán seguirse básicas precauciones de seguridad, incluyendo las
siguientes:

■ POR FAVOR LEA TODAS LAS INSTRUCCIONES.

■ Use la plancha para lo que ha sido diseñada.

■ A fin de protegerse contra el riesgo de un choque eléctrico, no sumerja la plancha en agua ni en ningún

otro líquido.

■ La plancha debe estar siempre apagada antes de enchufarla o desenchufarla de una toma de corriente.

Nunca tire del cable para desconectarlo de la toma de corriente; sujete el enchufe y retírelo con cuidado.

■ No permita que el cable entre en contacto con ninguna superficie caliente. Asegúrese que la plancha se enfríe

por completo antes de almacenarla. Enrolle el cable holgadamente alrededor de la plancha cuando la guarde.

■ Siempre desconecte la plancha de la toma de corriente cuando la llene de agua y cuando no esté en uso.

■ No opere la plancha si el cable está dañado o si la plancha se ha dejado caer y se ha estropeado. A fin de evitar

el riesgo de un choque eléctrico, no desarme la plancha; llévela a una persona capacitada para examinarla
y repararla. Armar la plancha incorrectamente puede resultar en el riesgo de un choque eléctrico al usarse
nuevamente.

■ Cualquier aparato electrónico operado en presencia de menores de edad o por ellos mismos, requiere mucha

supervisión. No deje la plancha desatendida mientras está conectada o sobre la tabla de planchar.

■ Pueden ocurrir quemaduras al tocarse las partes metálicas, el agua caliente o el vapor. Tenga mucho cuidado

al invertir una plancha de vapor ya que puede haber agua caliente dentro del depósito.

INSTRUCCIONES ESPECIALES

■ A fin de evitar una sobrecarga eléctrica, no opere ningún otro aparato de alto consumo en el mismo circuito.

■ Si el uso de un cable de extensión es absolutamente necesario, debe usarse uno de 10 amperes. Los cables

calificados con amperaje más bajo pueden sobre calentarse. Tenga cuidado de acomodar el cable de manera
que nadie lo hale ni se tropiece en él.

SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS

POLARIZED PLUG (120V MODELS ONLY)

This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). As a safety feature, this plug fits in a polarized outlet
only one way. If the plug does not fit into the outlet, reverse the plug, and try again. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified
electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.

LINE CORD SAFETY TIPS

1. Never pull or yank on the cord or the appliance.

2. To insert plug, grasp it firmly and guide it into outlet.

3. To disconnect appliance, grasp plug and remove it from outlet.

4. Before each use, inspect the line cord for cuts and/or abrasion marks. If any are found, this indicates that the appliance
should be serviced and the line cord replaced. Please return it to tour Service Department or to an authorized service
representative.

5. Never wrap the cord tightly around the appliance, as this could place undue stress on the cord where it enters the
appliance and cause it to fray and break.

DO NOT OPERATE APPLIANCE IF THE LINE CORD SHOWS ANY DAMAGE, OR IF APPLIANCE WORKS INTERMITTENTLY OR
STOPS WORKING ENTIRELY.

If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or a similarly qualified person in
order to avoid a hazard.

IMPORTANTES INSTRUCCIONES DE SEGURIDAD

When using your iron, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:

■ PLEASE READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS.

■ Use iron for its intended use.

■ To protect against a risk of electric shock, do not immerse the iron in water or other liquids.

■ The iron should always be turned Off before plugging or unplugging from outlet. Never yank cord to disconnect

from outlet; instead, grasp plug and pull to disconnect.

■ Do not allow cord to touch hot surfaces. Let iron cool completely before putting away. Loop cord loosely around

iron when storing.

■ Always disconnect iron from electrical outlet when filling with water or emptying, and when not in use.

■ Do not operate iron with a damaged cord or if the iron has been dropped or damaged. To avoid the risk of

electric shock, do not disassemble the iron; take it to a qualified serviceman for examination and repair.
Incorrect reassembly can cause a risk of electric shock when the iron is used.

■ Close supervision is necessary for any appliance being used by or near children. Do not leave iron unattended

while connected or on an ironing board.

■ Burns can occur from touching hot metal parts, hot water or steam. Use caution when you turn a steam iron

upside down. There may be hot water in the reservoir.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

■ To avoid a circuit overload, do not operate another high-wattage appliance on the same circuit.

■ If an extension cord is absolutely necessary, a 10-ampere cord should be used. Cords rated for less amperage

may overheat. Care should be taken to arrange the cord so that it cannot be pulled or tripped over.

ENCHUFE POLARIZADO (SOLAMENTE EN LOS MODELOS 120V)

Esta unidad cuenta con un enchufe polarizado en el que un contacto es más ancho que el otro. A fin de reducir el riesgo de
un choque eléctrico, el enchufe puede introducirse en la toma de corriente polarizada únicamente en un sentido. Si el
enchufe no se ajusta en su contacto, inviértalo. Si aún así no logra enchufarlo, busque la ayuda de un electricista. Por ningún
punto trate de alterar esta medida de seguridad.

CONSEJOS DE SEGURIDAD CON RESPECTO AL CABLE ELECTRICO

2. Para conectar, sujete con firmeza el enchufe e introdúzcalo en la toma de corriente.

4. Antes de usar la plancha, asegúrese que el cable no tenga cortaduras ni abrasiones. De lo contrario el cable debe ser
reemplazado. Por favor devuelva la unidad a nuestro departamento de servicio o a un representante de servicio
autorizado.

5. A fin de evitar que el cable se debilite y se rompa de la unión con la unidad, nunca lo enrolle de manera apretada
alrededor de la plancha.

NO OPERE LA PLANCHA SI EL CABLE ELECTRICO PRESENTA CUALQUIER AVERIA, COMO TAMPOCO SI LA UNIDAD
FUNCIONA DE MANERA INTERMITENTE O NO FUNCIONA DEL TODO.

A fin de evitar peligro, si el cable está dañado, debe ser reemplazado por el fabricante, por un agente de servicio o por una
persona calificada.
