This appliance is for HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY. It may be
plugged into any AC electrical outlet (ordinary household
current). Do not use any other type of outlet.

NOTE:

This product must be grounded. If it should malfunction or
break down, grounding provides a path of least resistance
for electric current to reduce the risk of electric shock. This
product is equipped with a cord having an equipment
grounding conductor and a grounding plug. The plug must
be plugged into an appropriate outlet that is properly
installed and grounded in accordance with all local codes
and ordinances.

DANGER: Improper connection of the equipment grounding
conductor can result in a risk of electric shock. Check with a
qualified electrician or serviceman if in doubt as to whether
the product is properly grounded. Do not modify the plug
provided with the product — if it will not fit the outlet, have a
proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician.

A short-power supply cord is provided to reduce the hazards
resulting from entanglement or tripping over a longer cord.
An extension cord may be used with care; however, its

marked electrical rating should be at least as great as
the electrical rating of the appliance. The extension cord

should not drape over the counter or tabletop, where it can
be pulled on by children or tripped over.

LINE CORD SAFETY TIPS

1. Never pull or yank on cord or the appliance.

2. To insert plug, grasp it firmly and guide it into outlet.

3. To disconnect appliance, grasp plug and remove
it from outlet.

4. Before each use, inspect the line cord for cuts and/or
abrasion marks. If any are found, this indicates that
the appliance should be serviced and the line cord
replaced. Please return it to our Service Department
or to an authorized service representative.

5. Never wrap the cord tightly around the appliance, as
this could place undue stress on the cord where
it enters the appliance and cause it to fray and break.

DO NOT OPERATE APPLIANCE IF THE LINE CORD
SHOWS ANY DAMAGE, OR IF APPLIANCE WORKS
INTERMITTENTLY OR STOPS WORKING ENTIRELY.

HOW TO USE:

Note: The Jug Kettle is for heating water only. Never fill the
kettle with other liquids.

1. Fill the kettle with water. Water indicators in the water
window will assist you to measure the precise amount.
Do not overfill. Be sure when filling that the heating
element is covered with water and that the water level
does not extend over the maximum fill line on the outside
of the kettle.

2. Place kettle on the power base, on a dry, level surface.
Ensure kettle is correctly positioned on the base and
hinged lid is closed.

3. Insert plug into an electrical power outlet.

4. Depress the on/off switch to the on position. Power
indicator light will be illuminated when the switch is in the
on position.

5. When water boils the kettle will shut off automatically.
The on/off switch will be in the off position and light will
no longer be illuminated. Caution: Grip the jug by the
handle only as kettle surface may be hot.

6. Be sure the cordless kettle has switched off automatically
or is switched off manually before removing it from
the base.

7. To refill the kettle first check the water level indicators and
then if necessary fill with cold water.

8. Repeat steps 2-6.

Note: Keep kettle cord away from hot surfaces. After use
disconnect the power base and empty the kettle. Never
leave a hot kettle unattended.

MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS

This appliance requires little maintenance. It contains no
user serviceable parts. Do not try to repair it yourself. Refer
it to qualified personnel if servicing is needed.

TO CLEAN: Be sure power base is unplugged and kettle
has cooled. Wipe surfaces with a soft, damp cloth or
sponge. Liquid detergent applied on a moist cloth may be
used to remove spots. Do not use abrasive scouring pads or
cleaners, this will damage the surface. NEVER IMMERSE
KETTLE IN WATER OR OTHER LIQUIDS.

Mineral deposits may occasionally form inside of the kettle
depending on the water hardness and frequency of the
kettle use. Build up of mineral deposits may impair the kettle
performance by

reducing the boiling speed and efficiency.
To remove mineral deposits:

1. Use a solution of 5% vinegar and 95% water and fill the
kettle to the maximum water mark.

2. Boil once.

3. Let solution stand for 10 minutes.

4. Pour out solution and rinse kettle.

5. Repeat if necessary.

TO STORE: Unplug kettle and store it in its box or in a clean
dry place. Cord wraps around underneath base for compact
storage.

Un cordon d’alimentation court est fourni pour empêcher le
cordon de s’emmêler et prévenir de trébucher sur un cordon
trop long. Un cordon de rallonge peut être utilisé avec soin;
cependant, les spécifications électriques du cordon de
rallonge doivent être au moins celles de l’appareil. Le
cordon de rallonge ne doit pas pendre sur le bord d’une
table ou d’un comptoir d’où il pourrait être tiré par les
enfants ou d’où quelqu’un pourrait trébucher sur le cordon.

CONSEILS DE SÉCURITÉ POUR LE FIL ÉLECTRIQUE

1. Ne jamais tirer sur le fil ou sur l’appareil

2. Pour brancher la fiche : Attraper fermement la fiche
et la guider dans la prise.

3. Pour débrancher l’appareil, attraper la fiche
et l’enlever de la prise.

4. Avant chaque usage, inspecter le fil électrique pour
coupures ou marques d’usure. Si on en trouve cela
indique qu’il faut réparer l’appareil et changer le fil
électrique. Retourner l’appareil au « Service

Department » ou à un service de réparations agréé.

5. Ne jamais enrouler le fil trop étroitement autour de
l'appareil car cela pourrait exercer trop de pression
sur le fil à l'endroit ou il entre dans l’appareil et
pourrait l'effilocher et le faire casser.

NE PAS UTILISER L’APPAREIL SI LE FIL ÉLECTRIQUE
EST ENDOMMAGÉ, SI L’APPAREIL NE FONCTIONNE
QUE DE FAÇON INTERMITTENTE OU S’IL NE
FONCTIONNE PLUS DU TOUT.

MODE D’EMPLOI:

Note : La bouilloire est prévue pour faire chauffer de l’eau
uniquement. Ne jamais mettre d’autres liquides.

1. Remplir la bouilloire d’eau. L’indicateur d’eau sur le
voyant aidera à mesurer la quantité exacte. Ne pas trop
remplir. S’assurer en remplissant que l’élément de
chauffage est bien couvert d’eau et que le niveau d’eau
ne dépasse pas la ligne niveau maximum sur l’extérieur
de la bouilloire.

2. Mettre la bouilloire sur le socle et sur surface plane et
sèche. La bouilloire doit bien être en position sur le socle
et le couvercle doit être fermé.

3. Brancher la fiche dans une prise électrique.

4. Mettre le bouton Marche/Arrêt sur Marche. Le bouton
s’allume quand il est sur Marche.

5. La bouilloire s’arrête automatiquement quand l’eau boue.
Le bouton Marche/Arrêt se met en position Arrêt et le
témoin lumineux s’éteint. Attention : Attraper la bouilloire
par la poignée car sa surface peut être chaude.

6. Toujours vérifier que la bouilloire s’est arrêtée
automatiquement ou a été arrêtée manuellement avant
de l’enlever du socle.

7. Pour remplir la bouilloire il faut d’abord vérifier les
indicateurs de niveau d’eau puis, si nécessaire, remplir
avec de l’eau froide.

8. Répéter les étapes 3-7.

Note : Éloigner le fil électrique des surfaces chaudes.
Débrancher le vider la bouilloire après usage. Ne jamais
laisser une bouilloire chaude sans surveillance.

INSTRUCTIONS SUR L'ENTRETIEN

Cet appareil n'a besoin que de peu d'entretien. Il ne
contient aucune pièce réparable par l'utilisateur. Ne pas
essayer de le réparer soi-même. Si des réparations sont
nécessaires, consulter une personne qualifiée.

POUR NETTOYER :

S’assurer que le socle est débranché et que la bouilloire est
froide. Essuyer la surface avec un tissu souple humide ou
avec une éponge. On peut utiliser un détergent liquide
avec un tissu humide pour enlever les taches. Ne pas
utiliser de tampons et de produits abrasifs qui peuvent
endommager la surface de l’appareil. NE JAMAIS
TREMPER LA BOUILLOIRE DANS L’EAU OU DANS TOUT
AUTRE LIQUIDE.

Des dépôts minéraux peuvent se former à l’intérieur de la
bouilloire suivant la crudité de l’eau et la fréquence
d’utilisation. Un entartrage important peut réduire l’efficacité
de la bouilloire en ralentissant l’ébullition.

Pour enlever le tartre :

1. Utiliser un mélange de 5% vinaigre et 95% eau et remplir
la bouilloire jusqu’à la ligne niveau maximum.

2. Faire bouillir une fois.

3. Laisser pendant 10 minutes.

4. Jeter le mélange et laver la bouilloire.

5. Répéter si nécessaire.

POUR RANGER : Ranger la bouilloire dans sa boite ou
dans un endroit propre et sec. On peut enrouler le fil
électrique sous la base pour le ranger.

ou quand on verse.

3. N’utiliser la bouilloire que quand elle est correctement alignée

sur le socle et sur une surface à niveau sèche avec le couvercle
fermé. Si le couvercle n’est pas en place l’arrêt automatique
ne fonctionnera pas.

4. Ne pas brancher quand la bouilloire est vide. Cette bouilloire est

protégée par un appareil de sécurité automatique conçu pour
débrancher l’élément chauffant si la bouilloire est allumée
accidentellement quand il n’y a pas d’eau ou si on la laisse
bouillir à sec. La bouilloire répétera automatiquement un cycle
arrêter, refroidir et rebrancher. Dans ce cas, il faut débrancher
la bouilloire, la laisser refroidir pendant quelques minutes puis
ajouter de l’eau froide pour ramener la température à la
normale. On peut alors utiliser la bouilloire.

5. Ne pas essayer de brancher un autre appareil sur la base ou de

modifier le connecteur de quelque façon que ce soit.

• Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the
wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to Off, then remove
plug from wall outlet.

• Do not use appliance for other than intended use.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

1. Before first use: Fill the kettle with clean water to maximum

capacity and boil until kettle shuts off automatically. Discard
water and repeat the process.

2. Do not overfill as this may cause water to spill out when boiling

or pouring.

3. Operate only with the kettle properly aligned on the power

base and on a dry level surface with the lid closed. If lid is not
in place, the automatic shut-off will not operate.

4. Do not plug power base in when the kettle is dry. This kettle is

protected by an automatic safety device designed to
disconnect the heating element if the kettle is accidentally
switched on without water or is allowed to boil dry. The kettle
will automatically repeat a cycle of switching off, cooling down
and switching on. Should this occur you should unplug the
power base, allow the kettle to cool for a few minutes, then
add cold water to bring the temperature back to normal. The
kettle is then ready for use again.

5. Do not attempt to connect any other appliance to the power

base or tamper with the connector in any way.
