HOW TO USE
1. The Blade Assembly has been packed in a separate cardboard insert. Attach it by holding the lever straight
up and pushing the post into the hole (FIG. A). Bring the lever down until it locks into position.
2. Plug the cord into a standard, 120-volt electrical outlet.
3. Lift the Lever, tip the can so that the rim is under the Locating Post and the can is centered over the drive
wheel. Push down on the Lever, making sure the blade is inside the rim (FIG.B). Because of the hands-free
feature, it is not necessary to hold the Lever down or support the can during cutting. However, you may have
to hold the Can Opener Body when cutting very tall or heavy cans.
4. When the can is opened, the Can Opener will stop automatically. To remove the can, hold it with one hand and
raise the Lever with the other. CAUTION: Avoid contact with the cut edges of the can or lids—they are sharp.
Carefully remove the lid from the magnet and discard.
5. You may “stuff” excess cord back into the bottom of the unit and feed the cord through the notch for
convenient storage.
CAN OPENING TIPS
• If there is a dent in the rim of a can, open the other end or start the cutting action just beyond the dent.
Cans with heavy seams, uneven rims or odd shapes may cause the Can Opener to stall. If this occurs, turn the
can slightly by hand to aid the cutting action.
• Don’t try to open cans designed to be opened by another method such as a pull tab, peel-off foil seal, or
rolling key.
• Frozen juices or foods in cardboard cans should be opened as soon as they are removed from the freezer.
Aluminum lids will not stick to the Magnet.
KNIFE SHARPENING TIPS
• Clean and dry knives before sharpening.
• Do not attempt to sharpen serrated blades, as this will smooth their edges. Do not attempt to sharpen scissors.
USING THE KNIFE SHARPENER
1. For best results, sharpen the entire blade length in one continuous stroke carefully pulling the blade through
the slot and slightly up toward you.
2. Repeat until you achieve desired sharpness. Pulling the knife through 10-20 times will give you the best results.
Wash and dry knives after sharpening. Use caution with blade after sharpening.

1.
O conjunto de lâminas foi embalado separadamente em papel cartão. Coloque-o segurando a alavanca diretamente
para cima e empurrando o pino no orifício (
FIG.
A). Baixe a alavanca até que engate na posição correspondente.
2. Ligue o cabo condutor de eletricidade em uma tomada comum de 120 volts.
3. Levante a alavanca, incline a lata de modo que a beirada fique sobre o pino de localização e a lata esteja
centralizada sobre a roda propulsora. Empurre a alavanca para baixo, certificando-se de que a lâmina esteja dentro
da beirada da lata (
FIG.
B). Não é necessário segurar a alavanca para baixo ou apoiar a lata durante o corte,
entretanto, poderá se tornar necessário segurar o corpo do abridor ao cortar latas muito pesadas ou altas.
4. Ao terminar de abrir a lata o aparelho parará automaticamente. Para remover a lata, segure-a com uma mão
e levante a alavanca com a outra. CUIDADO: Evite o contato com as bordas cortadas da lata ou com a tampa porque
são afiadas. Remova cuidadosamente a tampa do imã e descarte-a.
5. O segmento sobressalente do cabo pode ser recolocado novamente dentro da base do aparelho. Quando for guardar
o aparelho, empurre o cabo para dentro da base.
DICAS SOBRE COMO ABRIR LATAS
•
Se um lado da lata estiver amassado, abra-a pelo outro lado ou inicie o corte logo depois da região amassada. Latas
com beiradas grossas, desiguais ou de formato incomum poderão bloquear o movimento do abridor. Caso isso
ocorra, vire a lata ligeiramente com a mão para facilitar o movimento do corte.
•
Não tente abrir latas projetadas para serem abertas por outro método, tal como as que possuem uma aba, vedação
de folha metálica destacável ou chave.
•
Sucos congelados ou alimentos conservados em papel cartão deverão ser abertos assim que sejam retirados do
congelador. As tampas de alumínio não ficarão no imã.
DICAS SOBRE O AFIADOR DE FACAS
•
Lave e seque as facas antes de afiá-las.
•
Não tente afiar lâminas serradas porque isto cegaria as pontas. Não tente afiar as tesouras.
COMO USAR O AFIADOR DE FACAS
1. Para melhores resultados, afie a lâmina inteira com um movimento contínuo, puxando-a cuidadosamente pela fenda
e ligeiramente para cima, na sua direção.
2. Repita a ação até que consiga o grau de afiação desejado. Passando a faca pela fenda de 10 a 20 vezes obterá
melhores resultados. Lave e seque as facas após de afiá-las. Tome cuidado com a lâmina após de afiada.
DICAS DE SEGURANÇA SOBRE O CABO CONDUTOR DE ELETRICIDADE
1. Nunca retire o plugue da tomada puxando-o pelo cabo ou pelo aparelho.
2. Para inserir o plugue, segure-o firmemente e insira-o na tomada.
3. Para desligar o aparelho, segure o plugue e remova-o da tomada.
4. Antes de cada uso verifique se o cabo apresenta cortes e/ou marcas de desgaste. Em caso afirmativo isto
indica que o aparelho deve ser inspecionado e o cabo substituído. Envie o aparelho ao nosso Departamento
de Assistência Técnica ou a um represente técnico autorizado.
5. Nunca enrole o cabo condutor de eletricidade ao redor do aparelho. Não force o cabo no local onde ele
penetra a base do aparelho pois o mesmo poderá desgastar-se e arrebentar posteriormente.
NÃO OPERE QUALQUER APARELHO SE O CORDÃO ELÉTRICO ESTIVER DANIFICADO, SI O APARELHO FUNCIONA
INTERMITENTEMENTE, O PARA-SE TOTALMENTE.
Para evitar maiores riscos, caso o cabo conductor de electricidade apresente qualquer dano, deverá ser
substituído pelo fabricante, por seu representante técnico ou mismo por professional igualmente calificado.
LINE CORD SAFETY TIPS
1. Never pull or yank on the cord or the appliance.
2. To insert plug, grasp it firmly and guide it into outlet.
3. To disconnect appliance, grasp plug and remove it from outlet.
4. Before each use, inspect the line cord for cuts and/or abrasion marks. If any are found, this indicates that the
appliance should be serviced and the line cord replaced. Please return it to our Service Department or to an
authorized service representative.
5. Never wrap the cord tightly around the appliance, as this could place undue stress on the cord where
it enters the appliance and cause it to fray and break.
DO NOT OPERATE APPLIANCE IF THE LINE CORD SHOWS ANY DAMAGE, OR IF APPLIANCE WORKS
INTERMITTENTLY OR STOPS WORKING ENTIRELY.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or similarly qualified
person in order to avoid a hazard.
CARE AND CLEANING
1. Before cleaning any part of the Can Opener, unplug the cord.
2. To remove the Blade Assembly for easy cleaning, lift the Lever up as far as it will go and pull the Blade
Assembly straight out (see FIG. A). You can wash it by hand in hot, sudsy water or wipe with a sponge.
Dry thoroughly. It is NOT dishwasher-safe.
3. Before replacing the Blade Assembly, wipe the Can Opener body and area around the drive wheel with
a damp cloth or sponge. To remove stubborn spots, wipe surfaces with a nylon or mesh pad and sudsy water.
Follow with a clean, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners on any part of the Can Opener as they can
damage the finish. Replace the Blade Assembly.
CAUTION: Never put Can Opener in water or other liquids.

de lâminas diretamente para fora (veja

A). Ele pode ser lavado à mão em água quente e sabão ou simplesmente
com uma esponja úmida. Enxague completamente. ESTE APARELHO NÃO DEVE SER LAVADO À MÁQUINA.
3. Antes de encaixar novamente o conjunto de lâminas, enxague o exterior do abridor e a área em torno da roda
impulsora com pano úmido ou esponja. Para remover manchas, utilize uma pano ou esponja com água e sabão.
Em seguida, limpe com um pano limpo e úmido. Não utilize produtos de limpeza abrasivos em qualquer componente
do abridor sob o risco de danificar o acabamento. Instale de volta o conjunto de lâminas.
CUIDADO: Nunca coloque o abridor sob a água ou imerso em outros líquidos.

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:
■ PLEASE READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS.
■ To protect against risk of electric shock, do not put can opener, cord, or plug in water or other liquid.
■ Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
■ Unplug from outlet when not in use, before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning.
■ Avoid contacting moving parts.
■ Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions or is dropped
or damaged in any manner. Return the appliance to an authorized service facility for examination, repair, or
electrical or mechanical adjustment.
■ Keep the cord away from the Knife Sharpener and the path of the knife being sharpened to prevent fire or
shock hazard.
■ The use of attachments not recommended or sold by the appliance manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock
or injury.
■ Do not use outdoors.
■ Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter or touch hot surfaces.
■ Do not open pressurized (aerosol type) cans.
■ Do not open cans of flammable liquids such as lighter fluids.
■ Do not operate this appliance in the presence of explosive and/or flammable fumes.
■ This appliance is intended for household use only and not for commercial or industrial use.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
POLARIZED PLUG
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). As a safety feature, this plug fits in a
polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit into the outlet, reverse the plug, and try again. If it still does
not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.

dejado caer o si ha sufrido cualquier daño. Devuelva la unidad a un centro de servicio autorizado para que la
examinen, reparen, o para que le ajusten cualquier falla mecánica o eléctrica.
■ Con el fin de prevenir un incendio o un choque eléctrico, mantenga el cable alejado del afilador de cuchillos y de
la ranura por la cual se esté afilando un cuchillo.
■ El uso de accesorios no recomendados ni a la venta por el fabricante del aparato puede causar incendio,
choque eléctrico o lesiones personales.
■ No use a la intemperie.
■ No permita que el cable cuelgue del borde de la mesa o del mostrador ni que entre en contacto con superficies
calientes.
■ No abra latas presurizadas (tipo aerosol).
■ No abra latas inflamables tales como las de los líquidos encendedores.
■ No opere este aparato en presencia de gases explosivos y/o inflamables.
■ Este producto ha sido diseñado solamente para uso doméstico y no para uso industrial o comercial.
ENCHUFE POLARIZADO
Este artefacto tiene un enchufe polarizado (una hoja es más ancha que la otra). Como medida de seguridad, este
enchufe sólo debe usarse en una toma de corriente polarizada en un solo sentido. Si no entrara en la toma de
corriente, invierta el enchufe y trate nuevamente. Si aún así no entrara, busque la ayuda de un electricista
