during transportation. Obvious damage must be reported immediately.
5.2 Packaging
Do not remove packaging until just before mounting. Keep the packaging as it will provide optimum protection during transport (e.g. change in installation site, sending for repair).

Permissible conditions at the place of storage:
Storage temperature: -30 ... +80 °C Protect the CO
sensor from humidity and dust.

Installation and mechanical connection
The instruments are supplied in an operational status. The instrument is already equipped with a 1.5 m long connection cable and there is no need to open it. If an opening of the cover becomes necessary, make sure that the case is hermetically sealed again afterwards.
The mounting to the ventilation duct is

Electrical connection
When using long connection cables, and depending on the cross-
section used, the measuring result might be falsied due to a voltage
drop on the common GND line, caused by the supply current and the
GB
line resistance. In this case 2 GND lines must be laid to the CO2 sensor
- one for the supply current and one for the measuring current.

Measuring principle
For the CO2 measurement the "Non Dispersive InfraRed (NDIR)" technology with automatic self-calibration (ABCLogic™) is used. For

direct connection to a DDC or a monitoring system analogue 0 … 10 V outputs are available.
ABCLogic™ - self-calibration feature
The outside levels of CO2 are generally very low at 400 to 500 ppm. Inside buildings people are the major source of CO2. When a building is unoccupied for 4 to 8 hours, CO2 levels will tend to drop to outside background levels. This is especially the case when the building operational schedule includes a pre-occupancy purge of fresh air into the building prior to the start of the day. ABCLogic™, which stands for "Automatic Background Calibration", uses the computing power in the sensor's on-board microprocessor to remember the lowest CO2 concentration that takes place every 24 hours. The sensor assumes that this low point is the value of the outside level. The sensor is also smart enough to discount periodically elevated display values, which might occur if, for example, a room was used 24 hours a day. When the sensor has collected 14 days worth of low concentration values, it performs a statistical analysis to see if there have been any small changes in the sensor display regarding background levels that could be attributable to sensor drifts. If the analysis concludes that there is drift, a small correction factor is made to the sensor calibration to adjust this deviation.
Commissioning of the sensors with ABCLogic™
GB
When CO2 sensors with ABCLogic™ are installed, they will use the rst 14 days of operation to calibrate themselves to the local background
levels. Each sensor will calibrate itself to its environment over the rst
14 days of operation.

8. Maintenance and cleaning
The CO2 sensor is maintenance-free and oers long service life provided it is handled and operated properly.
Clean the instruments with a moist cloth (soap water).
Repairs must only be carried out by the manufacturer or appropriately
qualied skilled personnel.
9. Disposal
Incorrect disposal can put the environment at risk.
Dispose of instrument components and packaging materials in an environmentally compatible way and in accordance with the country-
specic waste disposal regulations.
