8. Make sure that the food to be fried is dry in order to avoid splattering or foaming of the oil. Dab the damp food dry with a paper towel and remove ice from frozen foods.
9. Fill the prepared food to be fried in the frying basket. The food inside the frying basket must be completely covered by oil, otherwise it cannot be fried successfully.
10. Do not overll the frying basket. The food to be fried should be distributed over the entire surface of the frying basket in order to ensure even frying.
11. Slowly lower the basket into the oil and lose the lid again,
12. Check through the viewing window (2) whether the food to be fried has reached the desired degree of browning and raise the frying basket after the frying time has expired. Switch the temperature control (8) to the Off position if you are satised with the frying results and no further frying procedure is to follow. Then disconnect the device from the mains.
13. Open the lid (1) and lift the frying basket (4) and let the oil/fat drain. Caution! The deep fryer is very hot. Hot steam can escape and hot oil/fat can spray out.
14. Remove the frying basket (4) carefully out of the deep fryer. Line a bowl or sieve with paper towels and ll with the fried food. The excess oil/fat will be absorbed by the paper towel.

5. Remove the oil/fat from the frying vat (12).
6. The opened lid (1) can be detached for cleaning.
7. Pull the lid up and out.
8. First remove the lter from the cover.

11. Clean the frying basket (4) and the frying vat (12) with hot water and some detergent. The fat lter, frying basket and frying vat can be washed in the dishwasher. Carefully dry the parts completely.
12. Never immerse the operating and heating element (9) in water.
13. Wipe off the housing of the deep fryer inside and outside with a damp cloth. Let it dry completely and then put the box with the power cord back into the device.

3. Assemble the device correctly before putting it into operation.
4. Place the device on a at, sturdy and heat-resistant surface. A circumference of at least a 15 cm distance around the device should be maintained. Keep ammable materials away from this device (e.g. curtains, textiles, walls). Keep the device out of the reach of spraying water.
Assembling the Fry Basket
1. Squeeze the handle prongs together and slide the feet into the slots on the side of the basket.
2. Continue to squeeze the prongs as you pull the handle back toward you, to lock into place.
Note: Always check that the handles are locked into position before cooking with oil.
Filling frying vat
1. Open the lid (1).
2. Place the frying vat (12) in the fryer.
3. Fill at least 1L (MIN) and maximum 1.2L (MAX) of good quality oil into the frying vat (12). The oil level must be between the MIN and MAX marking (inside the frying vat).
4. Attention! Never switch the device on if there is too little or no oil in the frying vat. It could become damaged.
Frying with oil and fat
1. Use only high-temperature resistant, neutral avour frying oil (vegetable oil) or frying fat (vegetable fat) which can be heated to about 220°C. Palm oil, hydrogenated vegetable oils and fats, rened oils (corn oil, soya oil, and sunower oil) for example are all suitable. Cold-pressed and unrened oils/fats such as virgin olive oil, butter and margarine are not suitable.
2. Attention! Never mix different oil or fat types together and never mix fresh oil or fat with oil or fat which has already been used.
3. Warning: never melt fat in the fryer.
4. You can keep solid fat at room temperature in the closed deep fryer. When you reheat the fat in the deep fryer, prick holes in the fat in advance with a fork to avoid the fat from splattering. Take care not to damage the frying vat (12). Close the lid (1) and then warm the fat at low heat.
5. Dangerofre! Edible oil and fat can ignite at temperatures which are too high.
6. If the oil/fat ignites, pull the plug (7) immediately. Never pour water into hot or burning oil/fat. Close the lid of the deep fryer if it is possible to do so safely. You can try to smother the re with a blanket or re-ghting foam.
Frying foods
1. Ensure that the oil/fat level is between the MIN and MAX marking.
2. You can monitor the frying process through the viewing window (2) in the lid (1). Apply some fat from the inside on the viewing window in order to prevent that the window gets steamed up.
3. Connect the plug (7) to a suitable power outlet. The red operation indicator Power (10) lights up.
4. Select the required temperature using the temperature control (8) and wait until the deep fryer has been preheated. More information regarding required temperature can be found on the packaging of the food to be fried or in the Frying chart section.
5. The indicator light HEAT (6) lights up and shows that the device is heating up. Once the set temperature is reached, the indicator light goes out.
6. As soon as the temperature falls below the pre-selected
2. Do not move or transport this device if it is lled with hot oil/fat. There is a danger of burning from splattering oil/fat. Wait until the oil/fat has cooled off completely.
3. Danger of burns! The temperature of the surfaces which can be touched can become very hot. Never touch the hot surfaces of the device (e.g. viewing window, metal parts).
4. Hot steam rises and escapes through the steam outlet in the lid during frying. Keep hands and face at a safe distance from the steam and open the lid with special caution. Never cover the steam outlets.
5. Avoid contact of water and/or ice with oil or fat. This leads to strong splattering or foaming of oil/fat during frying. Dab moist foods dry with a paper towel and remove ice from frozen foods. Make sure that all parts of the deep fryer are dry before putting the oil/fat into the device.
6. The oil or fat level in the deep fryer vat must be between the MIN and MAX markings (inside).
7. Use only oil or fat that is suitable for frying.
8. Do not mix different types of oil or fat because it can cause the deep fryer to overow.
9. Never overll the frying basket with food and do not place any cutlery or kitchen tools in the device.
10. Do not put plastic cutlery into hot fat. Do not ll hot fat into a plastic container. It could melt.
11. Attention! Change the oil/fat at regular intervals. Old or contaminated oil could ignite itself if overheated.
12. Make sure that there are not any ammable items above or near the device. If the oil/fat ignites, pull the plug immediately and close the lid in order to smother the ames. Never pour water into hot or burning oil/fat.
13. To avoid or reduce acrylamide, we recommend that foods be fried until they are golden yellow rather than dark or brown and that burnt residues be removed. Fry starchy foods, especially grain and potato products, at a maximum of 170°C.
14. Unplug the device after use and let the oil/fat cool off sufciently before inserting or removing accessories and before cleaning or storing the device.
15. Do not cover or store the device when it is hot. Unplug it rst and let it cool off completely in a safe place which is out of the reach of children.
