IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

To prevent personal injury or property damage, read and follow all instructions and warnings.
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed including the following:
Read all instructions, including these important safeguards and the care and use instructions in this manual.
Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
The use of accessory attachments not recommended by Focus Electrics may
cause injuries.
Do not operate when the appliance is not working properly or when it has been damaged in any manner. For service information see warranty page.
Do not attempt to repair this appliance yourself.
For household use only.
To prevent burns, personal injury or property damage, read and follow all instructions and warnings.

HEAT PRECAUTIONS

Allow to cool before cleaning or removing crumb tray.
Carefully remove toasted food from the toaster. Some of the appliance surfaces

ELECTRICITY PRECAUTIONS
To protect against electric shock, do not immerse cord, plugs, or other electric parts in water or other liquids.
Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug.
Do not use this appliance outdoors.
To disconnect, turn any control to “off”, then remove plug from wall outlet.
Always assure the toaster is OFF (all indicator lights off) and unplug the
appliance from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts and before cleaning.
A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce risks resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
Longer detachable power-supply cords or extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use. While use of an extension cord is not recommended, if you must use one, the marked electrical rating of the detachable power-supply cord or extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance. If the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord should be a grounding-type 3-wire cord. The cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the counter top or tabletop where it can be pulled by children or tripped over.
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.
Do not use an outlet or extension cord if the plug fits loosely or if the outlet or extension cord feels hot.
Do not insert oversized foods, metal foil packages, metal utensils or any metal objects into toaster slots at any time.
Do not attempt to dislodge food when toaster is plugged in.
Do not clean with metal scouring pads. Pieces can break off the pad and touch
electrical parts, creating a shock hazard.
To avoid circuit overload, do not operate another high wattage applianc e on the same circuit at the same time.
Keep the cord away from hot parts of the appliance and hot surfaces during operation.
3
To prevent burns or other personal injuries to children, read and follow all instructions and warnings.

PRECAUTIONS FOR USE AROUND CHILDREN

Close supervision is always necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
Do not allow children to operate or be near the toaster, as the outside surfaces are hot during use.
Do not allow cord to hang over any edge where a child can reach it.
To prevent fire, personal injury or property damage, read and follow all instructions and warnings.

Failure to clean and replace crumb tray after each use may result in fire hazard.
Do not toast oversized foods in toaster. Only toast foods that fit loosely in
toaster slots.
Avoid toasting foods with frostings or fillings that may run or that are made with
open fillings. Frostings and fillings can catch fire.
Do not toast pastries, tarts and the like at any setting other than the lowest or
lightest setting and never toast twice as these items can ignite if over-heated and cause fire.
Do not toast buttered foods. Melted butter can cause fire.
Remove any plastic wrapping from food before toasting.
Unplug toaster if fire or smoke is observed.
