While use of an extension cord is not recommended, if you must use one,
ensure that the marked electrical rating of the extension cord is equal to or
greater than that of the appliance. If the plug is of the grounded type, the
extension cord must be a grounding-type 3-wire cord. To avoid pulling, tripping
or entanglement, position the extension cord so that it does not hang over the
edge of the counter, table or other area where it can be pulled on by children or
tripped over.
• This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To
reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet
only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it
still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug
in any way.

SING YOUR ICE CREAM MAKER
Freezer Canister Preparation – The freezer canister must be completely frozen
before making your recipe. The length of time needed to freeze the freezer canister
varies depending on the temperature of your freezer. For convenience, leave the
freezer canister in the freezer at all times. Then you are ready to make frozen treats
for any occasion.
In general, freezing time is between 8 and 22 hours. Put the freezer canister in a
plastic bag to prevent freezer burn and place it in the back of your freezer where it is
the coldest. The freezer canister is filled with liquid. To determine if the freezer
canister is completely frozen, shake and listen for liquid movement. You should not
hear any liquid within the canister walls. Please consult the following chart for
recommended freezing times.

Note: When assembling, dismantling or cleaning, always ensure that the appliance
is switched to “OFF” and is not connected to the power supply.
1) Prepare recipe ingredients from this manual or use your own recipes prior to
assembling the ice cream maker. Liquids increase in volume during the freezing
process; therefore, the maximum amount of liquid used must not exceed 3 cups.
2) IMPORTANT: Do NOT remove freezer canister from freezer until recipe is
prepared. It is critical to keep the freezer canister as cold as possible prior to
assembling the ice cream maker as it begins to thaw immediately upon removal
from the freezer.
3) Assemble the Ice Cream Maker:
a) Place the motor unit over the lid, lining up the locking tabs over the lid tab
holes. Press down firmly to lock in place; there will be a “clicking” sound
when the tabs are locked correctly.
b) Insert the paddle extender into the motor unit opening.
c) Attach the paddle to the paddle extender by pushing together.
d) Remove the freezer canister from the freezer. Place the assembled motor
and lid over the freezer canister. Align the 3 locking posts on the inside lid
bottom with the 3 locking slots on the outside top rim of the freezer canister.
e) Turn the lid assembly clockwise to lock lid firmly in place.
f) Insert the plug into the outlet.
4) Push the On/Off switch to “ON”. Note: The Ice Cream Maker must be on before
adding ingredients. This prevents the mixture from immediately freezing on the
inside of the freezer canister and causing damage to the paddle mechanism.
5) Slowly pour the prepared ice cream mixture into the freezer canister through the
ingredient opening. Note: There should be a minimum of 2 inches (5cm)
between the mixture and top of the freezer canister to allow for expansion during
the freezing process.
6) To add other ingredients such as candy chips and nuts during the freezing
process, slowly add them through the ingredient opening. This should be done
after the ice cream has begun to thicken or about 5 minutes before ice cream is
finished. Nuts and other additives should be no larger than a chocolate/candy
chip.
7) Leave the machine on for approximately 25 to 40 minutes, or until mixture is of
the desired consistency. Do NOT turn the ice cream maker off during use as
the mixture may freeze up and stop the movement of the mixing paddle. Note:
If the mixture becomes too thick, the paddle will automatically change direction
of rotation to avoid overheating. This also indicates the ice cream is ready.
Turn the appliance off immediately. We recommend that you switch the motor
off manually after 40 minutes of continuous use to prevent overheating and
thawing of the frozen mixture.

8) Switch the motor unit to “OFF” and remove the lid. Remove the paddle if it
sticks in the ice cream mixture. Use a rubber, plastic, or wooden utensil to
remove the ice cream from the freezer canister. Do NOT use metal utensils,
including ice cream scoops, as they will damage the interior surface of the
freezer canister.
9) The finished ice cream will be quite soft in consistency and can be served in
bowls and eaten with a spoon. If you desire to have a firmer consistency,
transfer the ice cream to an airtight container and place in the freezer for
another hour or more, depending on how firm you want the ice cream to be. Do
NOT store prepared ice cream in the freezer canister.

LEANING YOUR ICE CREAM MAKER
1. Switch to “OFF” and unplug from the electrical outlet.
2. Remove the motor unit from the lid by pressing the 2 locking tabs on the
underside and gently pushing upwards through the lid tab holes.
3. Do NOT immerse the motor unit in water. To clean, wipe gently with a damp
cloth.
4. Wash freezer canister, lid, paddle and paddle extender in warm, soapy water.
Rinse and dry thoroughly. Note: Never use sharp utensils, scouring pads, or
abrasive cleaners on the freezer canister.
5. Never place the freezer canister in the freezer when it is wet; be sure it has
been thoroughly dried. Place the freezer canister in a plastic bag to prevent
freezer burn and place it in the back of your freezer where it is the coldest.
Note: Do not wash any part of the appliance in the dishwasher.

ELPFUL HINTS
•Store the freezer canister in the freezer so it is always ready for use. Keep it
wrapped in a plastic bag to prevent freezer burn and store in an upright position.
•Homemade ice cream recipes use only fresh ingredients; therefore, they do not
have the same consistency as store-bought ice creams which use gums and
preservatives to make them firmer. If you prefer a firmer consistency, place the
frozen ice cream in an airtight container and store it in the freezer for one or
more hours until the desired consistency is achieved.
•For recipes that require pre-cooking, prepare the mixture a day ahead and store
overnight in the refrigerator. This will allow the mixture to completely cool and
increases the volume.
•Ice cream mixtures may be stored in the refrigerator up to 3 days prior to
freezing. Be sure to mix well before adding the mixture to the freezer canister.
•The most common ingredients in ice cream are cream, sugar, eggs, and milk.
For the richest flavor and creamiest texture, use a cream containing the highest
percentage of fat. Heavy cream has the highest fat content (approximately
36%), Whipping Cream (30%), Coffee/Light Cream (18%), and Half & Half
(10%). Substitutions of milk products (both cream and milk) may be used to
reduce the fat content. However, this may change the taste, consistency, and
texture of the ice cream. When substituting ingredients, be sure the total liquid
measurement remains the same as the original recipe.
•Artifical sweeteners may be used to replace sugar in a recipe. Add only to a
cooled mixture as heat affects the sweetness.
•The ice cream mixture should be 2 inches (5 cm) from the top of the freezer
canister. This allows for expansion during the freezing process.
•For recipes containing alcohol, add the alcohol during the last 2 minutes of the
freezing process. Alcohol can adversely affect the freezing process if added
earlier.
•The flavor of sorbets is greatly dependent on the ripeness and sweetness of the
fruit or juice used so be sure to taste the mixture prior to freezing. If the flavor is
too tart, add sugar. For fruits that are very ripe and sweet, decrease the amount
of sugar. Note: Freezing reduces sweetness.
•The ice cream or sorbet mixture must be liquid before freezing. Do not use stiff
or frozen ingredients such as whipped cream or frozen liquids or juices.
•Ice cream or sorbets should be stored in airtight containers in the freezer. Do
NOT store in the freezer canister.
•Do NOT operate this appliance for longer than 40 minutes at a time. If the
mixture is not frozen or has begun to thaw, do not continue. Possible reasons
for the mixture not freezing include:
oFreezer canister was not cold enough. Check your freezer temperature to
be sure it is 0° F (-18° C) or colder. Be sure the freezer canister is
completely frozen (no liquid sound when shaken) and was left in the freezer
for a minimum of 8 to 10 hours.
oThe mixture was too warm. Ingredients should be chilled prior to mixing
and should be kept refrigerated until ready to freeze in the ice cream maker.
oThe proportion of ingredients was incorrect. Check your recipe carefully
and if substitutions were made, be sure the total liquid ingredients are equal
to the original recipe.

ECIPES
Basic Vanilla Ice Cream (uncooked)
1 cup Whole milk, well chilled
½ cup Granulated sugar
cup Half & Half
cup Whipping cream
½ tsp. Vanilla extract (or to taste)
Whisk together milk and sugar until sugar is dissolved. Stir in Half & Half,
whipping cream and vanilla. Pour into the freezer canister and freeze as
directed.
Basic Chocolate Ice Cream (uncooked)
cup Whole milk
cup Granulated sugar
5 oz. Bittersweet or semi-sweet chocolate squares, finely chopped
1 cups Heavy cream
½ - ¾ tsp. Vanilla extract
1. Combine mik, sugar and chocolate in a saucepan. Cook over medium
heat, stirring constantly, until just bubbly around the edges and the
chocolate is melted. Do NOT boil.
2. Transfer to a bowl and cool completely in the refrigerator for at least 2
hours.
3. Stir in heavy cream and vanilla to taste. Chill for at least 30 minutes.
4. Pour into the freezer canister and freeze as directed.
Basic Vanilla Ice Cream (cooked)
1 cup Whole milk, well chilled
½ cup Granulated sugar
1 Egg, beaten
1 cup Whipping cream
1 - 2 tsp. Vanilla extract (or to taste)
1. Combine milk and sugar in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring
occasionally, until just bubbly around the edges. Do NOT boil. Reduce
heat to low.
2. Beat egg in small bowl. Stirring constantly, slowly pour about ½ cup of
hot milk mixture into the beaten egg. Add egg to the remaining hot milk
mixture. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until slightly thickened,
about 2 – 3 minutes.
3. Remove mixture from heat, pour into a bowl and cool completely in the
refrigerator for at least 2 hours. Using a whisk, stir the whipping cream
and vanilla into the chilled mixture.
4. Pour into the freezer canister and freeze as directed.
Variations: You can add other ingredients to the ice cream during the last 5
minutes of the freezing process.
Add ½ cup of any of the following:
Chocolate Chips, Crumbled Chocolate Sandwich Cookies, Candy-coated
Add up to 1 cup of the following fruit purees:
Strawberries, Bananas, Peaches, Cherries, Blueberries, Raspberries

Fresh Strawberry Ice Cream
1 cups Fresh strawberries, cleaned and sliced
Juice of ½ lemon
cup Granulated sugar, divided
cup Whole milk
1 cups Heavy cream
½ - ¾ tsp. Vanilla extract
1. In a small bowl, combine the strawberries, lemon juice and ¼ cup sugar.
Stir gently and let strawberries sit in the juices for 2 hours. Drain the
strawberries, reserving the juice for use in the liquid mixture.
2. In a medium bowl, combine milk and remaining granulated sugar. Using
a wisk or hand mixer on low, blend until sugar is completely dissolved,
about 1 – 2 minutes. Stir in the heavy cream, remaining strawberry juice
and vanilla.
3. Pour into the freezer canister and freeze as directed.
4. During the last 5 minutes of freezing, add the strawberry slices.
Fresh Peach Ice Cream
2 cups Whole milk
2 Ripe peaches, peeled, pitted, and chopped (about 1 cups)
Juice of ½ lemon
½ cup Sugar
2 Egg yolks
1. In medium saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until bubbly around
the edges. Do NOT boil. Remove from heat and cover to keep hot.
2. In a blender or food processor, puree the peaches, lemon juice, and ¼
cup sugar until very thick. With the machine running, gradually add the
hot milk. Return the mixture to the saucepan.
3. In a blender or food processor, beat the egg yolks and remaining ¼ cup
sugar until very thick. With the blender running, gradually add the hot
milk. Return the mixture to the saucepan.
4. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon for 6 to
8 minutes, or until mixture thickens and coats the back of the spoon.
Remove from heat and place pan in a bowl of ice water. Stir for 2
minutes to cool the mixture. Stir in the peaches. Place in a bowl, cover
and refrigerate for 2 hours or until thoroughly chilled.
5. Pour into the freezer canister and freeze as directed.
Variations: Fresh Banana Ice Cream
Use the recipe and directions above substituting 2 ripe bananas, peeled
and sliced in place of the peaches.

Strawberry Sorbet
2 cups Fresh or individually frozen strawberries (thawed)
cup Granulated sugar
cup Water
2 tsps. Lemon juice
1. In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Heat to boiling on
medium high, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to low, and simmer until
sugar is dissolved. Remove pan from heat, pour liquid into a bowl and
cool in the refrigerator for 1 – 2 hours.
2. Puree the strawberries with lemon juice in a blender or food processor.
Pour into the liquid mixture bowl and stir until blended.
3. Pour into the freezer canister and freeze as directed.
Frozen Yogurt with Berries
1 cup Low fat vanilla yogurt
¼ cup Whole milk
cup Granulated sugar
1 cup Individually frozen strawberries, mixed berries or raspberries (not in syrup)
1. In a food processor or blender, puree the frozen fruit. Strain if desired to
remove seeds. Set aside.
2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the yogurt, milk, and sugar. Using a
hand mixer, beat on medium speed until sugar is dissolved, about 1 – 2
minutes.
3. Using a mixer on low speed, add the berry puree and mix until blended,
about 30 seconds.
4. Pour into the freezer canister and freeze as directed.

Appliance 1 Year Limited Warranty
Focus Electrics, LLC (“Focus Electrics”) warrants this appliance from failures in the material
and workmanship for one (1) year from the date of original purchase with proof of purchase,
provided the appliance is operated and maintained in conformity with the provided Instruction
Manual. Any failed part of the appliance will be repaired or replaced without charge at Focus
Electrics’ discretion. This warranty applies to indoor household use only.
This warranty does not cover any damage, including discoloration, to any non-stick surface of
the appliance. This warranty is null and void, as determined solely by Focus Electrics if the
appliance is damaged through accident, misuse, abuse, negligence, scratching, or if the
appliance is altered in any way.
THIS WARRANTY IS IN LIEU OF ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES
OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, PERFORMANCE, OR
OTHERWISE, WHICH ARE HEREBY EXCLUDED. IN NO EVENT SHALL FOCUS
ELECTRICS BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES, WHETHER DIRECT, INDIRECT,
INCIDENTAL, FORSEEABLE, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR SPECIAL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN
CONNECTION WITH THIS APPLIANCE.
