1. It is the responsibility of the owner to ensure that all users of this treadmill are adequately informed of all warnings and precautions.
2. Use the treadmill only as described in this manual.
3. Place the treadmill on a level surface, with at least eight feet of clearance behind it. Do not place the treadmill on any surface that blocks air openings. To protect the floor or carpet from damage, place a mat under the tread­mill.
4. Keep the treadmill indoors, away from mois­ture and dust. Do not put the treadmill in a garage or covered patio, or near water.
5. Do not operate the treadmill where aerosol products are used or where oxygen is being administered.
6. Keep children under the age of 12 and pets away from the treadmill at all times.
7. The treadmill should not be used by persons weighing more than 250 pounds.
8. Never allow more than one person on the treadmill at a time.
9. Wear appropriate exercise clothing when
using the treadmill. Do not wear loose cloth­ing that could become caught in the tread­mill. Athletic support clothes are recommend­ed for both men and women. Always wear athletic shoes. Never use the treadmill with bare feet, wearing only stockings, or in san­dals.
10. When connecting the power cord (see page 7), plug the power cord into a surge suppressor (not included) and plug the surge suppressor into a grounded circuit capable of carrying 15 or more amps. No other appliance should be on the same circuit. Do not use an extension cord.
11. Use only a single-outlet surge suppressor that meets all of the specifications described on page 7. To purchase a surge suppressor, see your local WESLO dealer or call 1-800-806­3651 and order part number 146148.
12. Failure to use a properly functioning surge suppressor could result in damage to the con­trol system of the treadmill. If the control sys­tem is damaged, the walking belt may change speed or stop unexpectedly, which may result in a fall and serious injury.
13. Keep the power cord and the surge suppres­sor away from heated surfaces.
IMPORTANT PRECAUTIONS
WARNING:
To reduce the risk of burns, fire, electric shock, or injury to persons, read
the following important precautions and information before operating the treadmill.

14. Never move the walking belt while the power is turned off. Do not operate the treadmill if the power cord or plug is damaged, or if the treadmill is not working properly. (See BEFORE YOU BEGIN on page 4 if the tread­mill is not working properly.)
15. Never start the treadmill while you are stand­ing on the walking belt. Always hold the handrails while using the treadmill.
16. Using hand weights and not holding the handrails may compromise your ability to maintain your balance. Hand weights should be used only by experienced users.
17. The treadmill is capable of high speeds. Adjust the speed in small increments to avoid sudden jumps in speed.
18. Never leave the treadmill unattended while it is running. Always remove the key and unplug the power cord when the treadmil l is n ot in use.
19. Do not attempt to raise, lower, or move the treadmill until it is properly assembled. (See ASSEMBLY on page 5, and HOW TO FOLD AND MOVE THE TREADMILL on page 10.) You
must be able to safely lift 45 pounds (20 kg) in order to raise, lower, or move the treadmill.
20. Do not change the incline of the treadmill by placing objects under the treadmill.
21. When folding or moving the treadmill, make
sure that the storage latch is fully closed.
22. Inspect and tighten all parts of the treadmill every three months.
23. Never insert or drop any object into any opening.

DANGER:Always unplug the power
cord immediately after use, before cleaning the treadmill, and before performing the maintenance and adjustment procedures described in this manual. Never remove the motor hood unless instructed to do so by an authorized service representative. Servicing other than the procedures in this manual should be performed by an authorized ser­vice representative only.
25. This treadmill is intended for in-home use only. Do not use this treadmill in any com­mercial, rental, or institutional setting.
WARNING:Before beginning this or any exercise program, consult your physician.
This is especially important for persons over the age of 35 or persons with pre-existing health prob­lems. Read all instructions before using. ICON assumes no responsibility for personal injury or prop­erty damage sustained by or through the use of this product.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
The decal shown below has been placed on your treadmill. If the decal is missing or illegible, please call our Customer Service Department, toll-free, to order a free replacement decal (see ORDERING REPLACEMENT PARTS on the back cover of this manual). Apply the decal in the location shown.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN
Thank you for selecting the WESLO®CADENCE 340 CS treadmill. The CADENCE 340 CS combines advanced technology with innovative design to let you enjoy an excellent form of cardiovascular exercise in the convenience and privacy of your home. And when you’re not exercising, the CADENCE 340 CS can be folded up, requiring less than half the floor space of other treadmills.
For your benefit, read this manual carefully before using the treadmill. If you have additional questions,

To help us assist you, please note the product model number and serial number before calling. The model number of the treadmill is WLTL29013. The serial number can be found on a decal attached to the tread­mill (see the front cover of this manual for the location).

ASSEMBLY
Assembly requires two people. Set the treadmill in a cleared area and remove all packing materials. Do not dis- pose of the packing materials until assembly is completed. In addition to the included allen wrench, assembly requires a phillips screwdriver , an adjustable wrench and scissors .
Note: The underside of the treadmill walking belt is coated with high-performance lubricant. During shipping, a small amount of lubricant may be transferred to the top of the walking belt or the shipping carton. This is a nor­mal condition and does not affect treadmill performance. If there is lubricant on top of the walking belt, simply wipe off the lubricant with a soft cloth and a mild, non-abrasive cleaner.

1. With the help of a second person, raise the Uprights (38) to the position shown. Note: During this step and step
2, b e careful not to pull on or damage the Wire Harness (53) in the right Handrail (4).
Insert one of the Base Legs (44) into the right Upright (38), with the Base Leg Pad (33) in the indicated position. Using the included Allen Wrench (81), attach the Base Leg with a Base Leg Screw (39). Attach the other Base Leg (not shown) to the left Upright in the same way. Note: Areplacement Base Leg Pad (33) may be included. If a Base Leg Pad becomes worn and needs to be replaced, use the replacement Base Leg Pad.
2. Hold the Left Handrail (88) against the left Upright (38) as
shown. (Important: If you are shorter than 5’ 8”, align
the upper two holes in the Handrail with the holes in the Upright; if you are 5’ 8” or taller, align the lower two holes.) Attach the Left Handrail with two Handrail
Bolts (1), two Handrail Washers (80), and two Handrail Star Washers (2) as shown. Do not tighten the
Handrail Bolts yet.
Make sure that at least 6” to 8” of the Wire Harness (53) is extending from the top of the Right Handrail (4). Feed the excess Wire Harness into the right Upright (38), and hold the Right Handrail against the right Upright. Make
sure that both Handrails are at the same height.
Attach the Right Handrail with two Handrail Bolts (1), two Handrail Washers (80), and two Handrail Star Washers (2). Do not tighten the Handrail Bolts yet. Be careful not to pinch the Wire Harness. Remove the tie from the Wire Harness and the Handrail.

3. Hold the Console Base (87) near the right Handrail (4). Make a loop with the indicated plastic tie, and insert the
two Wires (53) through the loop. Pull out just enough of the Wires to connect them to the two connectors in the Console Base (87). Plug the Wires into the connectors.
Important: Make sure that the Wires are fully insert­ed. WARNING: Do not disconnect or connect the Wires while the treadmill power cord is plugged in.
Refer drawing 3a. Set the Console Base (87) on the Handrails (4, 88). Thread four Console Screws (3) into the Handrails and the Console Base. After all four Screws have been started, tighten the Screws until
they are snug; do not overtighten the Screws.
Feed the excess Wire Harness (53) into the upper end of the right Handrail (4). Pull the plastic tie tight and cut off the end.
4. Attach the Storage Latch (16) to the left Upright (38) with two Latch Screws (14).
Refer to step 2. Tighten the four Handrail Bolts (1).
5. Hold a Weight Rack (15) against the right Upright (38) in the position shown. Loosely thread two Rack Screws (14) into the bottom holes in the Weight Rack and the Upright. Next, loosely thread four Rack Screws into the other four holes. Then, tighten all six Rack Screws.
Set a 3-lb. Weight (not shown) on the bottom hanger on the Weight Rack (15), a 2-lb. Weight on the middle hanger, and a 1-lb. Weight on the top hanger.
Attach the other Weight Rack and Weights to the left Upright in the same way (not shown).
6. Make sure that all parts are tightened before you use the treadmill. To protect the floor or carpet, place a mat under the treadmill.
