INTRODUCTION

Thank you for purchasing Starshine the Bright Lights Unicorn™.
This enchanting unicorn features three modes of play, colorful charms
and a light-up horn. Place the charms on the magic heart recognition
points to decorate the unicorn and hear colors and fun phrases in
English and Spanish, plus whimsical sounds. Squeeze her tail to flap
her wings as she rolls along!

WARNING:

All packing materials such as tape, plastic sheets, packaging locks,
removable tags, cable ties and packaging screws are not part of this toy
and should be discarded for your child’s safety.

NOTE: Please keep this parent’s guide as it contains important
information.

Unlock the packaging locks:

Rotate the packaging locks counterclockwise
90 degrees.

Pull out the packaging locks.

Release the Charm:

1. Make sure the unit is OFF.

2. Carefully pull the Charm away from Starshine and
cut the strings as illustrated.

3. Remove the strings from Starshine and throw them
away.

GETTING STARTED

BATTERY INSTALLATION

1. Make sure the unit is turned OFF.

2. Locate the battery cover on the side of the unit.

3. Use a screwdriver to loosen the screw and open
the battery cover.

4. Install 2 new AA (AM-3/LR6) batteries into
the battery box as illustrated. (The use of new
alkaline batteries is recommended for maximum
performance.)

5. Replace the battery cover and tighten the screw
to secure.

BATTERY NOTICE

• Use new alkaline batteries for maximum performance.

• Use only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended.

• Do not mix different types of batteries: alkaline, standard (carbon­zinc) or rechargeable, or new and used batteries.

• Do not use damaged batteries.

• Insert batteries with the correct polarity.

• Do not short-circuit the battery terminals.

• Remove exhausted batteries from the toy.

• Remove batteries during long periods of non-use.

• Do not dispose of batteries in fire.

• Do not charge non-rechargeable batteries.

• Remove rechargeable batteries from the toy before charging (if
removable).

• Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult
supervision.

PRODUCT FEATURES

1. Off/Mode Selector

To turn the unit ON, slide the selector from OFF

to Charms & Colors, Charms & Colors in

Spanish or Music Time.

To turn the unit OFF , slide the selector to the

OFF position.

2. Volume Switch

The Volume Switch is located on the side of the

unicorn. To adjust the volume, slide the Volume
Switch to the Low Volume or High Volume

position.

3. Seven Charms

Place the Seven Charms on the Magic Heart

Recognition Points to hear fun responses about

the charms.

4. Magic Heart Recognition Points

Place a Charm on any of the three Magic Heart

Recognition Points on Starshine to trigger fun
responses and lights. She has Magic Heart
Recognition Points on her crown, bracelet and

side.

5. Magical Light-Up Horn

The Magical Light-Up Horn will light-up in

multiple colors with the voice responses, songs
and melodies.

6. Magical Tail

Squeeze her Magical Tail to flap her beautiful wings

and hear fun responses and songs.

7. Blue Heart Button

Press the Blue Heart Button to hear questions, fun

phrases about the unicorn and to play melodies.

8. Necklace Button

Press the Necklace Button to hear fun sounds

and see the unicorn’s horn light up.

9. Rolling Wheels

Starshine’s hooves feature wheels so you can push

her along.

10. Charm Storage Dish

Store the Seven Charms in the heart-shaped

Charm Storage Dish.

11. Automatic Shut Off

To preserve battery life, Starshine the Bright

Lights Unicorn™ will automatically power down after several minutes
of no input. The unicorn can be turned on again by sliding the Off/
Mode Selector to Charms & Colors, Charms & Colors in Spanish
or Music Time.

NOTE: If the unicorn powers down while playing, we suggest replacing

with a new set of batteries.

ACTIVITIES:

1. Charms & Colors

a. Place a Charm on any of the three Magic Heart Recognition
Points to hear about colors, beginning letters and fun phrases.

b. Press the Blue Heart Button to hear questions about the charms,
then place the charms on one of the Magic Heart Recognition

Points to answer the questions.

2. Charms & Colors in Spanish

a. Place a Charm on any of the three Magic Heart Recognition
Points to hear colors and phrases in Spanish.

b. Press the Blue Heart Button or squeeze the Magical Tail to
hear fun responses about the unicorn in Spanish.

3. Music Time

a. Place a Charm on any of the three Magic Heart Recognition
Points to hear fun sounds.
b. Press the Blue Heart Button to play melodies, or squeeze the
Magical Tail to play songs, then press the Necklace Button or
place any of the Seven Charms on a Magic Heart Recognition
Point to add sounds into the melodies and songs.

CARE & MAINTENANCE

1. Keep the unit clean by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth.

2. Keep the unit out of direct sunlight and away from any direct heat
sources.

3. Remove the batteries when the unit is not in use for an extended
period of time.

4. Do not drop the unit on a hard surface and do not expose the unit
to excess moisture.

TROUBLESHOOTING

If for some reason the unit stops working or malfunctions while playing
with the Charms, please remove the Charms and place them back
onto the unicorn.

If the unit still isn’t functioning, or if for some reason the unit stops
working, please follow these steps:

1. Turn the unit OFF.

2. Interrupt the power supply by removing the batteries.

3. Let the unit stand for a few minutes, then replace the batteries.

4. Turn the unit back ON. The unit will now be ready to play again.

5. If the unit still does not work, replace with an entire set of new

batteries.
