INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing the VTech® Spin & Discover Globe™ learning toy.
The VTech® Spin & Discover Globe™ is a whole new world of fun to be explored! Spin the globe and press the animal characters to hear fun phrases and melodies that teach colors and animal facts through 4 modes of play. Light-up button on top of the globe plays fun sound effects and tunes as well as flashes along with the responses to captivate toddlers attention. Pushing, sliding and twisting the buttons develops different manipulative motor skills while a variety of phrases teach early words. Press the animal buttons while the melodies play to jam sound effects into the tunes!

wire ties and tags are not part of this toy, and should be discarded for your child’s safety.
GETTING STARTED
BATTERY INSTALLATION
1. Make sure the unit is turned OFF.
2. Locate the battery cover on the bottom of the unit. Use a coin or screwdriver to loosen the screw.
3. Install 2 new “AA” size (UM3/LR6) batteries following the diagram inside the battery box. (The use of new alkaline batteries is recommended for maximum performance.)
4. Replace the battery cover and tighten the screw to secure the battery cover.

BATTERY NOTICE
Install batteries correctly observing the polarity (+, -) signs to avoid leakage.
Do not mix old and new batteries.
Do not use batteries of different types.
Remove batteries from the equipment when the unit will not be used for an extended period of time.
Do not dispose of batteries in fire.
Do not attempt to recharge ordinary batteries.
The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited.
Only batteries of the same and equivalent type as recommended are to be used.
Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable (nickel­cadmium) batteries.
WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THE USE OF RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES.
PRODUCT FEATURES
1. ON/OFF BUTTON
To turn the unit ON, press the ON/OFF BUTTON ( ). Press the ON/OFF BUTTON again to turn the unit OFF .

2. VOLUME CONTROL SWITCH
T o adjust the volume, locate the VOLUME CONTROL SWITCH on the bottom of the unit. Slide it to the ( ) position for LOW VOLUME or the ( ) position for HIGH VOLUME.
3. ACTIVITY SELECTOR
Slide the activity selector to choose a mode of play.
4. ANIMAL BUTTONS
Press the animal buttons to hear fun phrases, sound effects and melodies, depending on the selected mode.
5. LIGHT-UP BUTTON
Press the light-up button on the top of the globe to hear fun phrases and sound effects.

6. AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF
To preserve battery life, the VTech® Spin & Discover Globe™ will automatically power-down after approximately 30 seconds without input. The unit can be turned on again by pressing the light-up button.
ACTIVITIES
Animal Mode
Press, twist or slide the animals to hear them introduce themselves with fun phrases and animal sound effects.
Press the light-up button on top of the globe to hear an airplane sound effect and “Look at all the animals I’ve discovered”. The light will flash with sounds.
Color Mode
Press, twist or slide the animals to learn colors through fun phrases.
Press the light-up button on top of the globe to hear “The world is such a colorful place, look at all the colors” and an airplane sound effect. The light will flash with the sounds.

Animal Actions Mode
Press, twist or slide the animals to learn fun facts about animals and their movement.
Press the light-up button on top of the globe to hear “Let’s explore the world” and an airplane sound effect. The lights will flash with the sounds.
Music & Sounds Mode
Press, twist or slide the animals to hear fun melodies. Press the animal buttons while a melody is playing to jam the animal sound effect into the tune.
Press the light-up button on top of the globe to hear the theme song. The light will flash with the sounds.

CARE & MAINTENANCE
1. Keep the unit clean by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth.
2. Keep the unit out of direct sunlight and away from any direct heat source.
3. Remove the batteries when the unit is not in use for an extended period of time.
4. Do not drop the unit on hard surfaces and do not expose the unit to moisture or water.
TROUBLESHOOTING
If for some reason the program/activity stops working, please follow these steps:
1. Turn the unit off.
2. Interrupt the power supply by removing the batteries.
3. Let the unit stand for a few minutes, then replace the batteries.
4. Turn the unit on. The unit should now be ready to play again.
5. If the product still does not work, replace with a new set of batteries.
