BATTERY INSTALLATION
1. Make sure the unit is turned OFF.
2. Locate the battery cover on the back of
the scoreboard. Use a screwdriver to loosen the screw.
3. Install 3 new “AA” (AM-3/LR6) batteries
following the diagram inside the battery
box. (The use of new alkaline batteries is
recommended for maximum performance.)
4. Replace the battery cover and tighten the
screw to secure the battery cover.

BATTERY NOTICE
• Use new alkaline batteries for maximum performance.
• Use only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended.
• Do not mix different types of batteries: alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc)
or rechargeable (Ni-Cd, Ni-MH), or new and used batteries.
• Do not use damaged batteries.
• Insert batteries with the correct polarity.
• Do not short-circuit the battery terminals.
• Remove exhausted batteries from the toy.
• Remove batteries during long periods of non-use.
• Do not dispose of batteries in re.
• Do not charge non-rechargeable batteries.
• Remove rechargeable batteries from the toy before charging
(if removable).
• Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult
supervision.
ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
With the VTech® Smart Shots Sports Center™, safety comes
rst. To ensure your child’s safety, adult assembly is required. This package contains six screws. Do not let your child play with the toy until it is fully assembled. Please ensure that the legs and activity panel are securely locked into position to avoid injury.
1. Insert the scoreboard into the top of
the Smart Shots Sports Center™.
Please make sure all the wires are
inserted inside the slot before securing the scoreboard. You will hear the pieces snap together when inserted properly. Insert and tighten two screws with a screwdriver.

2. Insert the Smart Shots Sports
Center™ into the base support
piece. You will hear the pieces snap together when inserted properly. Insert
and tighten the four remaining screws
with a screwdriver.
3. Insert the soccer net into the back of
the Smart Shots Sports Center™ and the top of the base support piece. You will hear the pieces snap together when inserted properly.
4. Insert the three turning gears in the
slots on the Smart Shots Sports Center™. You will hear the pieces snap together when inserted properly.
5. Insert the basketball net into the
Smart Shots Sports Center™. You will hear the pieces snap together when inserted properly.
6. Insert the character into the top of
the Smart Shots Sports Center™. You will hear the pieces snap together when inserted properly.

PRODUCT FEATURES
1. ON/OFF/VOLUME CONTROL SWITCH
To turn the unit ON, slide the ON/
OFF/VOLUME CONTROL SWITCH to the LOW VOLUME ( ) or HIGH VOLUME ( ) position. To turn the unit OFF, slide the ON/OFF/VOLUME CONTROL SWITCH to the OFF ( )
position.
2. AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF
To preserve battery life, the VTech® Smart Shots Sports Center
will automatically power-down after approximately one minute
without input. The unit can be turned on again by pressing any button.
ACTIVITIES
1. Slide the on/off/volume control
switch to turn the unit on. You will
hear a short tune, a playful phrase and a sung song. The screen will light up and play a variety of playful
animations.
2. Press the triangle button to learn the
shape and hear a variety of playful
melodies. The screen will light up and play a variety of playful animations.

3. Press the square button to learn
the shape and numbers 1-10. The
screen will light up and play a variety
of playful animations.
4. Press the circle button to learn the
shape and hear playful phrases or a sung song. The screen will light up and
play a variety of playful animations.
5. Move the character to hear fun
sounds, a phrase and two sung songs. The screen will light up and
play a variety of playful animations.
6. Turn the gears to hear a giggle sound
and short tunes. The screen will light up
and play a variety of playful animations.
7. Turn the ipping page to hear a
whistle sound, encouraging phrases and a short tune. The screen will light up and play a variety of playful
animations.

8. Toss the ball into the basketball net
to hear the points count from 1 to 10.
The screen will light up and play a
variety of playful animations.
9. Slam dunk the ball into the basketball
net to hear a fun cheering sound, rewarding phrases, a sung song and a short tune. The screen will light up
and play a variety of playful animations.
10. Kick the ball into the soccer net to
hear a variety of playful sounds. The screen will light up and play a variety
of playful animations.
11. If there is no input after approximately 10 seconds, you will hear
an inviting phrase. After another 10 seconds without input, a sung song will play. If there continues to be no input for another 10 seconds,
the unit will play a short tune and then automatically power down.
The unit can be turned on again by pressing any button.

CARE & MAINTENANCE
1. Keep the unit clean by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth.
2. Keep the unit out of direct sunlight and away from any direct heat
source.
3. Remove the batteries when the unit will not be in use for an extended period of time.
4. Do not drop the unit on hard surfaces and do not expose the unit
to moisture or water.
5. This toy works best indoors on smooth surfaces.
TROUBLESHOOTING
If for some reason the program/activity stops working or malfunctions, please follow these steps:
1. Please turn the unit OFF.
2. Interrupt the power supply by removing the batteries.
3. Let the unit stand for a few minutes, then replace the batteries.
4. Turn the unit ON. The unit should now be ready to play again.
5. If the product still does not work, replace with a new set of batteries.
