toys.
Ready, Set, School™ features fun characters and inviting school
themes that use technology to capture a child’s attention and teach
important preschool skills like spelling, counting and the alphabet.
These vital skills are taught in a way that’s both fun and highly
engaging to maintain a child’s interest. Children will also be
introduced to fun school subjects such as art class, music class and
even recess! With Ready, Set, School™, learning is fun from day

Thank you for purchasing the VTech® Alphabet Classroom™ learning toy!
The VTech® Alphabet Classroom™ learning toy is designed for beginning preschoolers. This toy will allow your child to engage in role-playing and learning through entertaining and fun play. By experiencing classroom life with the T eacher and so many classmates, your child will learn time, letters, phonics, colors, numbers, objects and fun phrases. Each of the 26 students has his or her own unique look, sound and personality! Y our child will have hours of learning fun as they explore The VTech® Alphabet Classroom™.

GETTING STARTED
BATTERY INST ALLATION
1. Make sure the unit is turned OFF.
2. Locate the battery cover on the bottom of the unit.
3. Open the battery cover.
4. Install 3 new “AA” (UM-3/LR6) batteries into the compartment as illustrated. (The use of new, alkaline batteries is recommended for maximum performance.)
5. Replace the battery cover and make sure it is properly secured.
BATTERY NOTICE
Install batteries correctly observing the polarity signs (+, -) to avoid leakage.
Do not mix old and new batteries.
Do not use batteries of different types.
Remove exhausted or new batteries from equipment when the unit will not be used for an extended period of time.
Do not dispose of batteries in fire.
Do not attempt to recharge ordinary batteries.
The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited.
Only batteries of the same and equivalent type as recommended are to be used.
We do not recommend the use of rechargeable batteries. NOTE: If the unit suddenly stops working or the sound becomes weak,
turn the unit off for 15 seconds, then turn it back on. If the problem persists it may be caused by weak batteries. Please install a new set of batteries and try the unit again.

PRODUCT FEATURES
1. ON/OFF BUTTON
To turn the unit on, press the ON/OFF BUTTON. You will hear a school bell
sound and greetings from the Teacher and classmates.
Press the ON/OFF BUTTON again to turn the unit off.
2. CLOCK
Turn the arm on the CLOCK to hear the different hours in a day.
3. TEACHER
Turn the TEACHER to face you and hear a variety of encouraging comments from the Teacher and students.
Turn the TEACHER to face the LCD SCREEN to hear the Teacher’s instructions.

Turn the TEACHER to face the STUDENTS to hear the Teacher’s
questions and the students’ responses.
Press down on the TEACHER to enter into the MODE currently selected by the MODE SELECTOR.

Slide the MODE SELECTOR to choose any one of seven activities.
5. VOLUME CONTROL BUTTON
Press the 27th STUDENT to adjust the volume up or down.

6. AUTOMA TIC SHUT-OFF
To preserve battery life, the VTech® Alphabet Classroom™ learning toy will automatically turn off after several minutes without input. The unit can be turned on again by pressing the ON/OFF BUTTON.
ACTIVITIES
MEET THE CLASS
1. In this activity, you will be able to learn more about each of the students in the classroom. Press any of the 26 LETTER BUTTONS and hear a greeting from that student, as well as a unique fact about him or her.
2. Press the Teacher to hear the opening phrase again.
ROLL CALL
1. In this activity, you will have to find the students as the Teacher calls their names. When you find the correct student, press his or her LETTER BUTTON and the other students will let you know if it’s the right one.
2. Press the TEACHER to hear a hint if you have trouble finding a student.
SOUND IT OUT
1. In this activity, you will learn about the sounds of the alphabet. Press any one the 26 LETTER BUTTONS and hear the student teach you how to say that letter of the alphabet.
2. Press the TEACHER to hear the opening phrase again.

ABC SONGS
1. In this activity, you will get to hear fun songs from the different students in the class. Listen carefully and then press the LETTER BUTTON that matches the student in the song.
2. Press the TEACHER to hear a hint if you have trouble finding a student.
SHOW & TELL
1. In this activity, you will be able to learn about interesting things that each of the students has brought to class. Press any one the 26 LETTER BUTTONS and hear what unique object that student has brought.
2. Press the TEACHER to hear the opening phrase again.
LOOK & SPELL
1. In this activity, you will learn how to spell by using the letters of the alphabet. The T eacher will tell you a word and it will appear on the LCD screen with the first letter missing. You must then press the correct LETTER BUTTON that completes the word.
2. Press the TEACHER to hear the correct answer if you are having trouble.
GUESS WHO
1. In this activity, you will have to listen to the Teacher’s clues and then find the student that he is describing. Look carefully at the students, and when you know the one that the Teacher is describing, press the LETTER BUTTON for that student.

2. Press the TEACHER to hear clues that will help you to find the student.
CARE & MAINTENANCE
1. Keep the unit clean by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth.
2. Keep the unit out of direct sunlight and away from any direct heat source.
3. Remove the batteries when the unit is not in use for an extended period of time.
4. Do not drop the unit on hard surface and do not expose the unit to moisture of water.
TROUBLESHOOTING
If for some reason the program/activity stops working, then please follow these steps:
1. Please turn the unit OFF.
2. Interrupt the power supply by removing the batteries.
3. Let the unit stand for a few minutes, then replace the batteries.
4. Turn the unit ON. The unit will now be ready to play again.
5. If the unit still does not work, replace with an entire set of new batteries.
