Power supply

Please connect the designated AC adapter to an AC outlet of the correct
voltage. Do not connect it to an AC outlet of voltage other than that for
which your unit is intended.

Interference with other electrical devices

Radios and televisions placed nearby may experience rec eption interfer­ence. Operate this unit at a suitable distance from radios and televisions.

Handling

To avoid breakage, do not apply excessive force to the switches or
controls.

Care

If the exterior becomes dirty, wipe it with a clean, dry cloth. Do not use
liquid cleaners such as benzene or thinner, or cleaning compounds or

ammable polishes.

Keeping foreign matter out of your equipment

Never set any container with liquid in it near this equipment. If liquid gets

into the equipment, it could cause a breakdown, re, or electric al shock.

Be careful not to let metal objects get into the equipment. If something
does slip into the equipment, unplug the AC adapter from the wall outlet.
Then contact your nearest VOX dealer or the store where the equipment

Introduction

Thank you for purchasing the VOX MV50 High Gain/MV50 Boutique
guitar amplifier. To help you get the most out of your new instrument,
please read this manual carefully.

About Nutube

Nutube is a new vacuum tube developed by KORG INC. and Noritake
Itron Corporation and that utilizes technolog y from vacuum fluorescent
displays.
As with conventional vacuum tubes, the Nutube is constructed with
an anode, grid and filament, and operates as a complete triode tube.
Furthermore, it generates the response and same rich harmonic
characteristics of conventional vacuum tubes.

1. GAIN knob: Controls the pre amp gain.

2. TONE knob: Controls the tonal color.

3. VOLUME k nob: Controls the volume levels for the SPEAKER

OUTPUT jack and PHONES / LINE jack.

4. VU meter: Shows the output level of the amplifier.

5. INPUT jack: Plug your guitar in here, ensuring you use a shielded

guitar cable.

6. PHONES / LINE jack: Use this jack if you want to output directly to
a mixer or a recording dev ice, or when you want to use headphones.
Output level is adjusted with the VOLUME knob.

Both the IMPEDANCE and EQ switches do not affect the output

from this jack.

7. ECO switch: The Auto Power-Off function can be disabled by
moving the switch to the OFF position.

8. Power switch: When the switch is moved to the ON position, the
amp turns on.

9. DC 19 V jack: Connect the included AC adapter here.

10. EQ switch: You can change the tonal character of t he sound by this

switch.

12. SPEAKER OUTPUT jack: Connect the speaker cable to this jack.
The minimum speaker’s impedance is 4ohms, and you will get
approx. 50W output with 4ohms, 25W with 8ohms, and 12.5W with
16ohms load.

Do not connect a load less than 4ohms.
The MV50 has a built-in protection system that prevents damage

should unusual circumstances occur. If the sound cuts out for
a few seconds, don’t worry, this is the MV50 protecting itself
and your speakers. If you find this happens, simply reduce the
volume on the MV50 slightly. (This protect ion only occurs with

16Ω speakers. 8Ω and 4Ω speakers are unaffected.)

This is BTL (Bridge-Tied-Load) output. This means both tip and

sleeve is the signal line, and sleeve is not grounded. Only use
this jack for connecting speakers to MV50. Con necting anything
else may result in damages to MV50.

Setup

1. Turn the VOLUME knob on the amp to the minimum position.

2. Connect the supplied AC adapter to t he power cord. Insert the DC
plug end into the DC 19 V jack. Next, plug the power cord into an
AC outlet.

Be sure you’re using an AC outlet of the correct voltage for your u nit.

Use only the supplied AC adapter. Using any other AC adapter

may cause malfunctions.

3. Plug the cable that’s connected to your guitar into the INPU T jack.

4. Plug the speaker cable that’s connected to the speaker cabinet into
SPEAKER OUTPUT jack.

SPEAKER OUTPUT jack may not be used if not needed. This

won’t harm the amp.

5. Turn the amp on, and slowly raise the VOLUME knob to adjust
the volume.

Auto power-off function

The amp has an auto power-off function. With this function, the amp
is automatically turned off if there is no output for approximately 15
minutes. Switching the ECO on enables the auto power-off function,
whereas switching the ECO off disables the function.
When the amp is turned off, it is not automatically turned back on. After
the amp is turned off, turn it on again or turn this switch off.

When the output level is extremely low or there is very little change

in the sound, the auto-power off function may be activated. In
addition, depending on the setting and environment, the amp may
interpret noise as input, even if the guitar is not being played.

Mantenga los elementos externos alejados del equipo

À propos de Nutube

Nutube désigne une nouvelle lampe développée par KORG INC. et Noritake
Itron Corporation, et met tant à profit la technologie des afficheurs f luorescents.
Tout comme les lampes conventionnelles, la Nutube comporte une anode, une
grille et un filament, et fonctionne comme une triode à part entière. En outre,
elle produit la réponse et les mêmes riches harmoniques typiques des lampes
conventionnelles.

Le réglage des sélecteurs IMPEDANCE et EQ n’a pas d’influence sur

le signal de sortie à cette prise.

7. Commutateur ECO: En position OFF, ce commutateur désactive la fonction
de coupure automatique de l’alimentation de l’amplificateur.

12. Prise SPEAKER OUTPUT: Raccordez le câble de votre enceinte à cette
prise. L’impédance minimum pour l’enceinte est de 4 ohms. Une enceinte
de 4 ohms fournit environ 50 W de puissance, une de 8 ohms produit 25 W
et enfin une de 16 ohms délivre 12,5W.

Ne branchez pas d’enceinte d’impédance inférieure à 4 ohms.

Le MV50 est doté d’un système de protection évitant les dommages

en cas d’anomalie. Pas d’inquiétude donc si le son de l’ampli est coupé
pendant quelques secondes. C’est simplement le MV50 qui active son
système de protection pour éviter tout dommage et protéger vos haut­parleurs. Da ns ce cas, réduisez simplement légèrement le volume sur le
MV50. (Cette protection est uniquement activée pour des haut-parleurs

de 16Ω. Elle n’est pas activée dans le cas de haut-parleurs de 8Ω et 4Ω.)

Cette sortie est pontée (BTL ou encore Bridge-Tied-Load). Cela signifie

que la pointe et le corps transmettent le signal ligne, et que le corps
n’est pas relié à la masse. Utilisez cette prise uniquement pour brancher
des enceintes au MV50. La connexion de tout autre élément pourrait
endommager le MV50.

Préparatifs

1. Réglez la commande VOLUME de l’ampli sur le minimum.

2. Branchez le cordon d'ali mentation fourni à l’adaptateur secteu r. Branchez

la fiche CC de l’adaptateur secteur à la pr ise DC 19 V de l’ampli. Branc hez
ensuite la fiche secteur du cordon d'alimentation à une prise de courant
de tension appropriée.

Veillez à ce que la prise de courant fournisse bien un courant de tension

compatible avec l’instrument.

Util isez uniqueme nt le type d’adaptateur sec teur spécif ié. L’util isation de

tout autre adaptateur secteur pourrait causer des dysfonct ionnements.

3. Branchez le câble relié à votre guitare à la prise INPU T.

4. Branchez le câble relié à votre enceinte à la prise SPEAKER OUTPUT.

Si vous ne comptez pas utiliser d’enceinte, rien ne vous oblige à utiliser

la prise SPEAKER OUTPUT. L’absence de connexion ne causera aucun
dommage à l’ampli.

5. Mettez l’ampli sous tension et réglez le volume en tournant lentement la
commande VOLUME.

Fonction de coupure automatique de l’alimentation

Cet ampli est doté d’une fonction de coupure automatique de l’alimentation.
L’alimentation est automatiquement coupée si aucun signal n’est produit pendant
environ 15 minutes. Le commutateur ECO permet d’activer (ON) et de désactiver
(OFF) la fonction de coupure automatique de l’alimentation.
Une fois que l’alimentation de l’ampli est coupée par cette fonction, l’ampli ne se
remet pas de lui-même sous tension. Après que l’alimentation a été coupée par
cette fonction, remettez l’ampli sous tension ou placez le commutateur ECO sur
la position OFF.

En présence d’un signal de sortie de niveau extrêmement bas ou d’un son

qui ne change pratiquement pas, la fonction de coupure automatique de
l’alimentation pourrait s’activer. En outre, selon le réglage et les conditions
de jeu, il se pourrait que l’ampli identifie un bruit présent comme un signal
d’entrée, même si vous ne jouez pas sur votre guitare.

Nutube ist ei ne neue, von KORG INC. und Norita ke Itron Corporation ent wickelte
Elektronenröhre, welche die Technologie von Vakuum-Fluoreszenz-Displays.
Wie konventionelle Elektronenröhren besteht die Nutube aus einer Anode,
einem Gitter und einer Glühkathode und arbeitet als vollwertige Triodenröhre.
Somit bietet sie die Ansprache und die gleichen satten Obertöne, die typisch für
konventionelle Röhren sind.

Bedienelemente und Funktionen

1. GAIN-Regler: Regelt den Pegel der Vorverstärkung.

2. TONE-Regler: Regelt die Klangfarbe.

3. VOLUME-Regler: Regelt die Lautstärke der SPEAKER OUTPUT-Buchse

und der PHONES / LINE-Buchse.

4. VU-Meter: Zeigt den Ausgangspegel des Verstärkers an.

5. INPUT-Buchse: Buchse zum Anschluss der Gitarre – verwenden Sie

bitte ein abgeschirmtes Gitarrenkabel.

6. PHONES / LINE-Buchse: Buchse zum direkten Anschluss eines
Mischpults oder Aufnahmegeräts bzw. eines Kopfhörers. Der
Ausgangspegel wird mit dem VOLUME-Regler.

Der IMPEDANCE- und der EQ-Schalter wirken sich nicht auf das an

dieser Buchse ausgegebene Signal aus.

7. ECO-Schalter: Die Energiesparfunktion kann deaktiviert werden,
indem Sie den Schalter auf OFF stellen.

8. Netzschalter: Stellen Sie diesen Schalter auf ON, um den Verstärker
einzuschalten.

9. DC 19 V-Buchse: Schließen Sie hier das beiliegende Netzteil an.

10. EQ-Schalter: Mit diesem Schalter können Sie den Klangcharakter des

Sounds ändern.

Lautsprecherkabels. Die Mindestimpedanz des Lautsprechers sollte 4
Ohm betragen – hierbei beträgt die Ausgangsleistung 50 W. Bei 8 Ohm
Impedanz beträgt sie 25 W und bei 16 Ohm 12,5 Watt.

Schließen Sie auf keinen Fall Lautsprecher mit weniger als 4 Ohm

Impedanz an!

Der MV50 verfügt über eine integrierte Schutzschaltung, die beim

Auftreten ungewöhnlicher Umstände Schäden verhindert. Falls der
Klang einige Sekunden lang aussetzt, ist dies kein Anlass zur Sorge
– dann schützt der MV50 sich und Ihre Lautsprecher. Sollte dies
vorkommen, regel n Sie einfach die Lautstärke am MV50 leicht herunter.

(Die Schutzschaltung greift nur bei 16 Ω-Lautsprechern ein – nicht bei
Lautsprechern mit 8 Ω und 4 Ω.)

Dieser Ausgang ist als BTL (Bridge-Tied Load bzw. Bridge Transless)

ausgelegt. Das heißt, Spitze und Hülse leiten das Signal, und die Hülse
ist nicht geerdet. Verwenden Sie diese Buchse nur, um Lautsprecher
an den MV50 anzuschließen. Der Anschluss anderer Geräte kann den
MV50 beschädigen.

Inbetriebnahme

1.

Drehen Sie den VOLUME-Regler des Amps bis zum Anschlag herunter.

2. Schließen Sie das Netzteil ans Netzkabel an. Schließen Sie den
DC-Stecker an die DC 19 V-Buchse an. Schließen Sie nun den
Netzstecker an eine Steckdose an.

Achten Sie darauf, dass die Netzspannung mit der Spannung

übereinstimmt, für die das Garät ausgelegt ist.

Verwenden Sie ausschließlich das hierfür vorgesehene Netzteil. Die

Verwendung eines anderen Netzteils kann Störungen verursachen.

3. Verbinden Sie das an Ihrer Gitarre angeschlossene Kabel mit der
INPUT-Buchse.

4. Verbinden Sie das an Ihrer Box angeschlossene Lautsprecherkabel mit
der SPEAKER OUTPUT-Buchse.

Falls nicht notwendig, können Sie die SPEAKER OUTPUT-Buchse

unbelegt lassen. Dies schadet dem Verstärker nicht.

5. Schalten Sie den Verstärker ein und drehen Sie den VOLUME-Regler
langsam auf, um die Lautstärke einzustellen.

Energiesparfunktion

Der Verstärker besitzt eine Energiesparfunktion. Diese Funktion schaltet den
Verstärker automatisch aus, wenn ca. 15 Minuten lang kein Signal ausgegeben
wird. Mit dem ECO -Schalter können Sie die Energiesparfunktion aktivieren
(ON) oder deaktivieren (OFF).
Schaltet die Energiesparfunktion den Verstärker aus, schaltet er sich nicht
automatisch wieder ein. In diesem Fall müssen Sie ihn selbst einschalten oder
den ECO-Schalter auf OFF stellen.

Bei extrem niedrigem Eingangspegel oder sehr geringen Änderungen

im Sound kann womöglich die Energiesparfunktion aktiviert werden.
Zudem kann – je nach Einstellung und Umgebung – der Amp Rauschen als
Eingangssignal interpretieren, auch wenn die Gitarre nicht gespielt wird.

Introducción

Gracias por adquirir un amplificador de guitarra de la MV50 High Gain/
MV50 Boutique de VOX. Para ayudarle a sacar el máximo partido de su nuevo
instrumento, lea detenidamente este manual.

Acerca de Nutube

Nutube es una nueva válvula desarrollada por KORG INC. y Noritake Itron
Corporation que utiliza la tecnología de las pantallas fluorescentes de vacío.
Al igual que las válvulas convencionales, Nutube se compone de ánodo, rejilla
y filamento, y funciona como una válvula de triodo completa. Además, su
respuesta genera la misma riqueza de armónicos característica de las válvulas
convencionales.

Nombres y funciones de las partes

1. Mando GAIN: controla la ganancia del preamplificador.

2. Mando TONE: controla el color tonal.

3. Mando VOLUME: controla los niveles de volumen del jack SPEAKER

OUTPUT y del jack PHONES / LINE.

4. Vúmetro: muestra el nivel de salida del amplificador.

5. Jack INPUT: aquí se conecta la guitarra. Es importante utilizar siempre

un cable de guitarra apantallado.

6. Jack PHONES / LINE: este jack se utiliza para enviar señal de salida
directamente a un mezclador o a un dispositivo de grabación, o para
escuchar con unos auriculares. El nivel de salida se ajusta con el mando
VOLUME.

Los selectores IMPEDANCE y EQ no afectan a la salida de este jack.

7. Selector ECO: la función de apagado automático se puede desactivar
poniendo el selector en la posición OFF.

8. Interruptor de encendido: cuando el interruptor de encendido se pone en
la posición ON, el amplificador se enciende.

No conecte una carga inferior a 4 ohms.
El MV50 tiene un sistema interno que evita daños en caso de que

ocurran circunstancias anormales. Si el sonido se corta durante
unos segundos, no se preocupe, es el MV50 que se está protegiendo
a sí mismo y a los altavoces. Si esto sucede, simplemente reduzca
ligeramente el volumen del MV50. (Esta protección solo ocurre con

altavoces de 16 Ω. No afecta a altavoces de 8 Ω ni de 4 Ω).

Esta es una salida BTL (Bridge-Tied-Load) o también llamada "en

puente". Esto significa que tanto la punta (tip) como el cuerpo (sleeve)
del jack son la línea de la señal, y el cuerpo no está conectado a tierra.
Este jack se utiliza solamente para conectar altavoces al MV50. Si
conecta cualquier otra cosa, puede causar daños al MV50.

Configuración

1. Gire el mando VOLUME del amplificador y póngalo en la posición
mínima.

2. Conecte el cable de corriente en el adaptador de CA alterna incluido
con el amplificador. Introduzca el conector de corriente continua en la
entrada de alimentación DC 19 V. A continuación, enchufe el cable de

Función de apagado automático

El amplificador tiene una función de apagado automático. Con esta función,
el amplificador se apaga automáticamente si no hay salida de sonido durante
aproximadamente 15 minutos.
La función se activa poniendo el selector ECO en la posición ON, y se desactiva
poniéndolo en la posición OFF.
Cuando el amplificador se apaga, no se vuelve a encender automáticamente.
Después de apagado, vuelva a encenderlo otra vez o ponga este selector en OFF.

Si el nivel de salida es extremadamente bajo o apenas hay cambios en el

sonido, es posible que se active la func ión de apagado automático. Además,
dependiendo de los ajustes y el entorno, el amplificador puede interpretar
el ruido como una entrada, aunque no se toque la guitarra.

Nutubeとは？

Nutubeは、株式会社コルグとノリタケ伊勢電子株式会社が、蛍光表示
管の技術を応用して開発した新しい真空管です。
Nutubeは従来の真空管と同じく、アノード・グリッド・フィラメント
の構造を持ち、完全な3極真空管として動作します。また従来の真空管
と同様、真空管特有の豊かな倍音やレスポンスを生み出します。

各部の名称と機能

出力はBTL接続（ステレオ・アンプの2つの出力をブリッジ接続し

てモノラル・アンプとして使用する方法）です。これはスリーブ

（シールド）がグラウンドでは無く、信号ラインであることを意味

します。この端子をスピーカー・キャビネット以外に接続すると、
本機の故障の原因となりますのでご注意ください。

セットアップ

1. 本機のVOLUMEノブを最小レベルに設定します。

2.

付属のACアダプターに電源コードを取り付け、ACアダプターをリ
ア・パネルのDC 19 V端子に接続してから、 電源コードのプラグを
コンセントに接続します。

電源は必ずAC 100Vを使用してください。
ACアダプターは必ず付属のものをお使いください。他のACアダ

プターを使用した場合、故障などの原因となります。

アース端子付きコンセントに接続する場合は

電源コードのプラグが三芯のためにコンセントに接続できない場合
は、2P-3P変換器を取り付けます。そして、コンセントのアース端子

にアース線を接続し、2P-3P変換器のプラグを差し込みます。

(a)接地極付きコンセント（3穴）への接続

2P-3P変換器のアース線のU字端子にカバーが付いている場合は、

カバーをはずして使用してください。

3． ギターに接続したケーブルをINPUT端子に接続します。

4. スピーカー・キャビネットに接続したスピーカー・ケーブルを、
SPEAKER OUTPUT端子に接続します。

スピーカー・キャビネットが不要な場合は、SPEAKER OUTPUT

端子にスピーカー・ケーブルを接続していなくてもアンプは故障
しません。

5. 電源スイッチをONにして電源を入れ、VOLUMEノブを回して音
量を調節します。

オート･パワー・オフ機能

本機にはオート･パワー ･オフ機能が搭載されています。ECOスイッチ
がONの場合は、音が出ていない状態が約15分続くと、自動的に電源が
切れます。一度電源が切れると自動復帰しません。電源を入れ直すか、
ECOスイッチをOFFにしてください。

入力音の音量や変化が極端に小さい場合は、“音が出ていない”とみ

なされる場合があります。また、設定や環境によっては、ギターを
弾いていなくてもノイズによって、“音が出ている”とみなされる場
合があります。

最小のスピーカー・インピーダンスは4Ωです。4Ω時に最大50Ｗの
出力が得られます。8Ωでは25Ｗ、16Ωでは12.5Ｗが得られます。

4Ω未満の負荷は接続しないでください。

本機は、パワーアンプ部およびスピーカーへの過大入力を防ぐ保護

回路を搭載しています。16Ωスピーカーをご使用の場合、ごくま
れに音が瞬間的に途切れる場合がありますが、この保護回路が動作
しているためで故障ではありません。この場合はVOLUMEを若干
下げてご使用することをお勧めします(8Ωまたは4Ωのスピーカー
では起こりません)。
