Congratulations on your purchase of an Impact spotting

scope. Designed for high country travel or longer trips in the outdoors, this spotting scope will certainly impress you with its optical excellence and light weight.
Optical Quality.
The Impact features very bright images thanks to Broadband fully multi-coated optics.
Caution:
Spotting scopes are not intended for looking at the sun, or any other intense light source. Such viewing could damage the retina
TM
and cornea of your eyes—even to the point of causing blindness.

Attaching the spotting scope to a tripod
Mount the Impact spotting scope on a sturdy tripod or car window mount for steady viewing. Simply secure the tripod mounting foot on the tripod head or quick-release plate of a standard camera or camcorder tripod.
The Impact spotting scope uses a standard 1/4”–20 screw thread on the underside of the mounting foot.
Adjustable eyecups
The Impact’s eyepiece features long eye relief and an adjustable rubber eyecup for comfortable viewing whether or not you wear eyeglasses or sunglasses.
Without eyeglasses or sunglasses, keep the eyecup fully extended.
With eyeglasses or sunglasses, fold back the eyecup.

Caring for the Lenses
Adjustable 25–75x zoom eyepiece
The Impact features a versatile 25–75x eyepiece that brings distant details into view. Refocusing is normally required when you change the magnification.
• Increase magnification by turning the adjustment ring to the left (counter-clockwise).
• Decrease magnification by turning the adjustment ring to the right (clockwise).
Focusing the eyepiece
Focus the Impact spotting scope by slowly rotating the focus dial until you see a sharp, clear image through the eyepiece.
Maintain the optical brilliance of the Impact spotting scope by keeping the lens surfaces free of dirt, dust, and oils.
Protect Lenses While Out in the Field.
Make use of the lens covers to protect the lenses when not viewing.
Keep Lenses Clean.
Along with normal use comes the need to clean the spotting scope lenses. Follow these guidelines for cleaning:
1. Remove any dust or grit from lenses before wiping.
Use a can of pressurized air or soft camel hair brush (acrylic optical brushes also work well).
2. Clear lens of smudges, fingerprints, or eyelash oil.
Fog the lenses with your own breath and wipe with the non-abrasive lens cloth included with the Impact spotting scope.
Other cleaning options:
Cleaning fluid and optical paper can also be used. However, you should never use facial tissue, heavy cotton, or flannel clothing on lenses—these materials can scratch the lens surfaces.
