1.1 Intended use

VOGT compressed air equipment may only be put into operation, operated, main­tained and repaired as described in this operating manual. Repair work that is not described here must be performed by a specialist workshop or the manufacturer.
NOTE
Depending on the tool insert (see Section 12), the equipment described is only suitable for the compac­ting, driving down, scraping, cutting, breaking up, removal, thickening, exposure, cleaning, burying or
loosening of dierent materials. Any other use is not intended and is therefore forbidden. Modications,
inserting other companies’ tools and interfering with or changing operating elements or controls are also forbidden. This equipment is not designed for use in areas where there is a risk of explosion. Therefore, it may not be used in potentially explosive areas. Operation in or under water is not permitted.
VOGT compressed air equipment may only be used by adults with the necessary physical and mental capacity that have read and understood this operating manual in full!
Residual risks are risks which cannot be completely removed in spite of the safety-conscious design of this equipment.
Noise risks.
Always wear appropriate ear protection.
Depending on the materials to be processed, dierent noise levels can occur. These
noise levels may cause permanent hearing loss in the case of extended exposure.
CAUTION
Vibration risks.
The permissible operating times must be observed. Wear approved and tested antivi­bration protective gloves if necessary.
Permanent physical damage, such as feelings of numbness or damage to the nervous system, may develop if the human body is exposed to vibrations for an extended period
.
CAUTION
Risk of injury from splinters, falling material, dust and sharp tools.
Always wear suitable regulation personal protective equipment when working with this
equipment, e.g. safety boots, close-tting work clothing, anti-splinter protective gloves/
protective goggles, protective headgear and, where applicable, a respirator mask.
Injuries from splinters or dust may arise when working with this equipment. Respiratory damage may occur from dust formation. Falling material may cause head injuries.

1.3 Obligations of the operator
If storing for longer than two days, add some drops of oil to the connection hose
to preserve it and put the equipment briey into operation (see Section 4).
2 Transportation / Storage
VOGT compressed air equipment may only be operated using lubricated compressed air. It is essential to protect the compressed air line against the ingress of dirt.
NOTE
The manufacturer cannot judge other residual risks which may arise in individual cases. These risks depend exclusively on the material to be processed. It is the respective ope­rator’s sole responsibility to assess the risks and take the necessary safety measures. These obligations also include observing the safety and health plan.
NOTE
3 Operation
VOGT compressed air equipment normally comes with some basic personal protective equipment. This consists of protective gloves, protective goggles and ear plugs. We would like to expressly point out that this personal protective equipment can never provide protection from all conceivable risks. Always wear the prescribed, approved and suitable personal protective equipment needed for each individual situation.
NOTE
Transport and store your VOGT compressed air equipment in the provided metal transport case whenever possible. Always store it in a dry and dustless place if possible.
