Introduction
Thank you for purchasing the Vivanco 10/100 Fast Ethernet Switch. This switch offers you a highperformance but simple-to-use solution to connect up to 5 PCs within an Ethernet or to create a subnetwork within a large Ethernet. It provides a full 10/100Mbps Ethernet connection at each port.
Hardware connections
Ports 1-5: On the back of the Switch you will find five RJ45 ports for connection to your PCs or
Power connection:
On the left side of the Switch you will find the power port to connect the power adapter included in the
package. To avoid any damage, use only this power adapter and no other.
Installation
The five RJ45 UTP/STP ports support the automatic MDI/MDIX crossover detection function to provide
true ‘plug and play’ capability. With the Auto-MDI function you need only plug the network cable into
the switch itself and not concern yourself whether the other end of the cable is connected to a Network
Interface Card or a switch/hub.
Connect the Switch’s AC power adapter to the Switch’s Power port. Plug the other end of the adapter
into an AC outlet. When connected, the AC power adapter to the switch’s Power port and AC outlet
will immediately power on this Switch.
LEDs
When the Switch installation is completed, check the LED indicators for the status.
POWER
This indicator lights green when the switch is receiving power.
Link/ACT
This indicator lights green when the port is connected to a station.
The blinking indicator shows that this port is transmitting or receiving data on the network.

Einleitung
Vielen Dank für den Kauf des Vivanco 10/100 Fast Ethernet Switch. Dieser Switch bietet Ihnen eine
hoch performante und einfache Lösung zum Anschluss von bis zu 5 PCs innerhalb eines Ethernets
oder zum Aufbau eines Subnetzes innerhalb eines großen Ethernets. Jeder Anschluss stellt eine volle
10/100 Mbit/s Verbindung zur Verfügung.
Hardware Anschlüsse
Ports 1-5: Auf der Rückseite des Switch befinden sich 5 RJ45 Ports zum Anschluss Ihrer
Computer bzw. anderer Switches und Hubs
Achtung: Verwenden Sie Cat5 Kabel, wenn Sie dieses Produkt in einer
strukturierten Netzwerkumgebung einsetzen.
Spannungsversorgung:
An der linken Seite des Switch finden Sie die Buchse für die Spannungsversorgung zum Anschluss
des mitgelieferten Netzteils. Um Schäden zu vermeiden, sollten Sie kein anderes Netzteil verwenden.
Installation
Die fünf RJ45 UTP/STP Ports unterstützen die automatische MDI/MDIX Erkennung von gekreuzten
Kabeln (Crossover) und bieten so vollständige „Plug & Play“ Fähigkeiten. Aufgrund der automatischen
MDI Funktion müssen Sie das Netzwerkkabel einfach nur mit dem Switch verbinden und sich nicht
darum kümmern, ob Sie damit eine Netzwerkkarte oder einen Switch/Hub anschließen.
Verbinden Sie das Netzteil mit der Buchse für die Spannungsversorgung und stecken sie das Netzteil
dann in eine Steckdose. Der Switch wird jetzt mit Strom versorgt.
LEDs
Nach Beendigung der Installation, sehen Sie an den LEDs den Status des Switch.
POWER
Diese Anzeige leuchtet grün, wenn der Switch mit Spannung versorgt wird.
Link/ACT
Diese Anzeige leuchtet , wenn ein Gerät an diesem Port angeschlossen ist.
Blinkt die Anzeige, zeigt dies, dass Daten über das Netzwerk gesendet oder empfangen werden.

Introduction
Nous vous remercions d’avoir acheté le Fast Ethernet Switch 10/100 de Vivanco. Ce switch constitue
une solution hautement performante et simple pour connecter jusqu’à 5 ordinateurs en réseau
Ethernet, ou pour la création d’un sous-réseau au sein d’un grand réseau Ethernet. Chaque port
prend en charge une connexion de 10 à 100 Mbit/s.
Ports matériels
Ports 1-5 : 5 ports RJ45 se trouvent au dos du switch pour connecter vos ordinateurs ou autres
switches/hubs Ethernet.
Attention : employez des câbles Cat5 pour utiliser ce produit dans un réseau
structuré.
Alimentation :
reliez l’adaptateur secteur fourni à la prise d’alimentation située sur le côté gauche du switch.
N’utilisez aucun autre adaptateur secteur, autrement vous pourriez endommager le switch.
Installation
Les cinq ports RJ45 UTP/STP prennent en charge la fonction MDI/MDIX qui détecte automatiquement
les câbles croisés (cross over), offrant ainsi toutes les fonctionnalités « Plug&Play ». Grâce à la
fonction automatique MDI, vous n’avez qu’à relier le câble réseau au switch, sans devoir vous soucier
de savoir si vous êtes en train de connecter une carte réseau ou un switch/hub.
Reliez l’adaptateur secteur à la prise d’alimentation, puis à une prise de courant. Une fois le switch
relié aux deux prises dans l’ordre indiqué, le switch est sous tension.
Diodes
Une fois l’installation terminée, les diodes vous signalent l’état du switch.
POWER
Cet indicateur est allumé en vert lorsque le switch est sous tension.
Link/ACT
Cet indicateur est allumé en vert lorsqu’un périphérique est relié à ce port.
Cet indicateur clignote lorsque sur le réseau l’envoi ou la réception de données est en cours.
