PCoIP (PC-over-IP)

PCoIP technology allows all enterprise
desktops to be centrally located and
managed in the data center, while providing
the remote user with an exceptional
user experience. The PCoIP protocol
compresses, encrypts, and encodes the
entire computing experience at the data
center and transmits it ‘pixels only’ across
any standard IP network to stateless
PCoIP zero clients.

VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure)

Virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) is the
practice of hosting a desktop operating
system within a virtual machine running
on a centralized server. ViewSonic thin
and zero clients support virtual desktop
implementations for improved security,
manageability, productivity, and lower
overall TCO.

Thin Client

A thin client is a VDI endpoint device that
features minimal storage and processing,
with a lightweight operating system
designed primarily to connect with remote
servers, and will handle some of the
data processing and graphics rendering
locally. Thin Clients may therefore be
more suitable to an environment looking
to retain more of the traditional desktop
experience, and/or an environment with
heavy graphics demands.

Zero Client

A zero client is a VDI endpoint device
that does not have its own storage or
operating system and reserves all data
processing and rendering for the server
side located elsewhere. The server then
delivers the processed images back to
the zero client.

Zero Client Monitor

A zero client monitor is a monitor
with integrated zero client technology
embedded into it. Zero client monitors
offer a seamless desktop virtualization
experience all within a single,
cloud-enabled display.

Smart Display Client

A Smart Display Client is an all-in-one
touch display that has Citrix XenMobile
pre-installed. A Smart Display Client is
a completely locked-down, secured,
and fully manageable device that allows
businesses to easily provision and deploy
both mobile and desktop devices.

Smart Display

A Smart Display is an Android-based
display that provides users a tablet-like
browsing experience, a touch-enabled
Full HD display, and a traditional PC
computer—all wrapped into one device.
With a Citrix Receiver app, a Smart
Display can be deployed as a virtual
desktop thin client.
