2. Safety Instructions
• Damage caused by disregard of certain guidelines in this manual is not covered by the warranty and the dealer
will not accept responsibility for any ensuing defects or problems.
• A qualified technician should install and service this device.
• Do not switch the device on immediately after it has been exposed to changes in temperature. Protect the device
against damage by leaving it switched off until it has reached room temperature.
• This device falls under protection class I. Plug the device into a mains with a protective earthing. Have a qualified
person carry out the electric connection.
• Do not expose the device to dripping or splashing liquids. Never place objects filled with liquids, such as vases,
on top of the device.
• Make sure that the available voltage does not exceed the voltage stated in the specifications of this manual.
• Do not crimp the power cord and protect it against damage. Have an authorised dealer replace it if necessary.
• Disconnect the device from the mains to clean it or when it is not in use. Handle the power cord by the plug only.
• Note that damage caused by user modifications to the device is not covered by the warranty.
• Keep the device away from children and unauthorised users.
3. General Guidelines
• The VPA2200MBN should only be used indoors connected to an alternating current of max. 230V AC/50Hz.
• Do not shake the device. Avoid brute force when installing or operating the device.
• Select a location where the device is protected against extreme heat (>45°C), direct sunlight, dust and moisture.
Install it in a well-ventilated area and leave a distance of 30cm in front of and behind the device for ventilation.
• Make sure the cooling circulation is never obstructed. Clean the ventilation openings regularly.
• Keep the device away from dripping and splashing liquids. Never place any objects filled with liquids, such as
vases, onto the device.
• Place the power switch of the device in the off position to completely disconnect the power.
• Familiarise yourself with the functions of the device before actually using it. Do not allow operation by unqualified
people. Any damage that may occur will most probably be due to unprofessional use of the device.
• Use the original packaging if the device is to be transported.
• All modifications of the device are forbidden for safety reasons.
Be very careful during the installation: touching live wires can cause life-threatening electroshocks.
Keep this device away from rain and moisture.
Unplug the mains lead before opening the housing.

• Only use the device for its intended purpose. All other uses may lead to short circuits, burns, electroshocks,
crash, etc. Using the device in an unauthorised way will void the warranty.
4. Fuse Replacement
• Only fit or replace a fuse when the device is unplugged from the mains.
• Replace a blown fuse with a fuse of the same type and rating (250Vac / 5A 5 x 20mm fuse, order code FF5N):
1. Unscrew the fuse holder cap at the back with an appropriate screwdriver.
2. Remove the old fuse and install a new one.
3. Replace the old fuse holder and fasten it with the screwdriver.
5. Use
a. Front Panel
1. ON/OFF switch
2. CHANNEL A gain control. In MONO/BRIDGE use, it will
control both channels simultaneously.
3. CHANNEL B gain control
4. ON/OFF LED (‘POWER’)
5. PROTECTION LED (‘PRO’): lights up when the amplifier
gets too hot.
6. SIGNAL LED (‘SIGNAL’): this green LED indicates a safe
operation (-30dB~0dB).
7. CLIPPING LED (‘CLIP’): red LED indicates a state of over-modulation (distortion at high volumes). Check the
input signal to the amplifier and turn down its level if possible. If not, turn down the gain control on the amplifier.
Keep in mind that the amplifier cannot correct a distorted signal.

c. Balanced / Unbalanced Input Connection
Both amplifier channels feature a balanced XLR female socket as well as a balanced 6.35
phone jack socket.
Input cables must be screened!
If an unbalanced input signal is to be connected using an XLR plug, a wire bridge must be inserted
between PIN1 and PIN3 (see fig. on the left). For an unbalanced signal output, a 6.35mm mono jack
plug can also be used.
d. Mono / Bridge Mode
In MONO mode, only the channel A input is active. The selection switch (#12) must be set to the BRIDGE position.
In BRIDGE mode, both amplifier channels (A & B) are internally bridged to perform as one single channel. Only the
channel A input is active.
In both modes, only the BRIDGE output connector (#14) may be used. The channel A
and B connectors (#13 & 15) are only for use in STEREO mode (selection switch #12 in
STEREO position). The connection must be made as in the figure on the right, using a
professional connector (type CAS101):
e. Stereo Mode
In STEREO mode, connect channels A and B through the XLR or phone jack plugs. The selector switch (#12) must
be set to STEREO. Use the channel A & B output connectors (#13 & 15).
f. Parallel Mode
Mono or bridge mode will mostly only allow driving one single loudspeaker system due to the 8 min/ impedance. If,
for example, a number of floor monitor loudspeaker systems (8 each) are to be driven, channels A and B should be
operated in parallel mode:
- connect the input signal to the channel A XLR input
- connect the channel A and B phone jack inputs by means of a shielded patch cable
- set the selector switch (#12) to STEREO
- connect the speakers through connectors A and B (#12 & 15)
6. Cleaning and Maintenance
1. All screws should be tightened and free of corrosion.
2. The housing and fixations should not be deformed, modified or tampered.
3. The electric power supply cables must not show any damage. Have a qualified technician maintain the device.
4. Disconnect the device from the mains prior to maintenance activities.
5. Wipe the device regularly with a moist, lint-free cloth. Do not use alcohol or solvents.
6. There are no user-serviceable parts except for the fuse.
7. Contact your dealer for spare parts if necessary.

2. Veiligheidsinstructies
• De garantie geldt niet voor schade door het negeren van bepaalde richtlijnen in deze handleiding en uw dealer zal
de verantwoordelijkheid afwijzen voor defecten of problemen die hier rechtstreeks verband mee houden.
• Laat dit toestel installeren en onderhouden door een geschoolde technicus.
• Om beschadiging te vermijden, zet u het toestel best niet aan onmiddellijk nadat het werd blootgesteld aan
temperatuurschommelingen. Wacht tot het toestel op kamertemperatuur gekomen is.
Wees voorzichtig bij de installatie: raak geen kabels aan die onder stroom staan om dodelijke elektroshocks
te vermijden.
Bescherm dit toestel tegen regen en vochtigheid.
Verzeker u ervan dat het toestel niet aangesloten is op een stroombron alvorens het te openen.

• Dit toestel valt onder beschermingsklasse I. Koppel het toestel aan een stopcontact met een aarding. Een
geschoolde technicus moet de elektrische aansluiting verzorgen.
• Houd dit toestel uit de buurt van druppelende of opspattende vloeistof. Plaats nooit objecten gevuld met vloeistof,
zoals een vaas, op het toestel.
• De beschikbare netspanning mag niet hoger zijn dan de spanning in de specificaties achteraan de handleiding.
• De voedingskabel mag niet omgeplooid of beschadigd zijn. Laat uw dealer zo nodig een nieuwe kabel plaatsen.
• Trek de stekker uit het stopcontact (trek niet aan de kabel!) voordat u het toestel reinigt en als u het niet gebruikt.
• Schade door wijzigingen die de gebruiker heeft aangebracht aan het toestel vallen niet onder de garantie.
• Houd dit toestel uit de buurt van kinderen en onbevoegden.
3. Algemene Richtlijnen
• Gebruik uw VPA2200MBN enkel binnenshuis met een wisselspanning van maximum 230Vac/50Hz.
• Schud het toestel niet dooreen. Vermijd brute kracht tijdens de installatie en de bediening van dit toestel.
• Installeer het toestel weg van extreme temperaturen (>45°C), direct zonlicht, vochtigheid en stof. Installeer het op
een goed geventileerde plaats en laat een minimumruimte van 30cm voor en achter het toestel voor ventilatie.
• Zorg ervoor dat de luchtkoeling nooit gehinderd wordt en reinig de ventilatieopeningen regelmatig.
• Houd het toestel uit de buurt van druppelend en opspattend vloeistof. Plaats nooit objecten gevuld met vloeistof,
zoals een vaas, op het toestel.
• Plaats de voedingsschakelaar in de off-stand om de voeding van het toestel volledig aft e sluiten.
• Leer eerst de functies van het toestel kennen voor u het gaat gebruiken. Ongeschoolde personen mogen dit
toestel niet gebruiken. Meestal is beschadiging het gevolg van onprofessioneel gebruik.
• Gebruik de oorspronkelijke verpakking wanneer u het toestel vervoert.
• Om veiligheidsredenen mag de gebruiker geen wijzigingen aanbrengen aan het toestel.
• Gebruik het toestel enkel waarvoor het gemaakt is. Andere toepassingen kunnen leiden tot kortsluitingen,
brandwonden, elektrische schokken, enz. Bij onoordeelkundig gebruik vervalt de garantie.
4. Installatie
• U mag een zekering enkel plaatsen of vervangen wanneer het toestel niet is aangesloten op het lichtnet.
• Vervang een gesprongen zekering door een zekering van hetzelfde type en met dezelfde specificaties (250Vac /
5A 5 x 20mm zekering, bestelcode FF5N). Ga als volgt te werk:
1. Verwijder de zekeringhouder op het achterpaneel met een geschikte schroevendraaier.
2. Verwijder de oude zekering en breng de nieuwe in.
3. Plaats de zekeringhouder terug in de behuizing en zet hem vast met de schroevendraaier.
5. Gebruik
a. Voorkant (zie figuur blz. 2)
1. ON/OFF schakelaar
2. KANAAL A versterkingsregelaar. In MONO/BRIDGE mode zal deze de 2 kanalen tegelijk bedienen.
3. KANAAL B versterkingsregelaar.
4. ON/OFF LED (‘POWER’).
5. BEVEILIGING LED (‘PRO’): licht op wanneer de versterker te warm wordt.
6. SIGNAAL LED (‘SIGNAL’): deze groen LED brandt als het toestel veilig werkt (-30dB~0dB).
7. CLIPPING LED (‘CLIP’): rode LED die een toestand van over-modulatie aangeeft (vervorming bij hoge
geluidssterktes). Controleer het ingangssignaal naar de versterker en zet het zachter als dat kan. Als dit niet kan,
zet de versterkingsregelaar op de versterker dan lager. De versterker kan een vervormd signaal niet herstellen.
