• Do not use the device if the ambient temperature exceeds 45°C. The max. temperature for the housing
is 130°C.
• Familiarise yourself with the functions of the device before actually using it. Do not permit operation by
unqualified people. Any damage that may occur will probably be due to unprofessional use of the
device.
• Use the original packaging if the device is to be transported.
• Note that all modifications of the device are forbidden for safety reasons.
• Only use the device for its intended purpose. All other uses may lead to short-circuits, burns,
electroshocks, lamp explosion, crash, etc. Using the device in an unauthorised way will void the
warranty.
4. Installation
a) Installing or Replacing a Lamp
CAUTION: Only install a lamp when the device is unplugged from the mains and replace it if it has been
damaged in any way.
• The lamps can become extremely hot during operation, so you should let them cool down for at least
10 minutes before replacing them
• Do not touch the halogen bulbs with your bare hands. Use a cloth to handle the lamps during insertion
and removal.
• Do not install lamps with a higher wattage as they generate higher temperatures than those for which
the device is designed.
• Use two lamps (230V/40W) with an E12 socket.
Procedure
1. Unscrew the top of the housing where you will find the half ball with the coloured lenses.
2. Gently remove the half ball.
3. Remove the old lamp and insert the new one.
4. Carefully reposition the half ball.
5. Fasten the cover.
Note: Do not operate the device with an open cover!!
b) Mounting the Device
Remark: Please consider the contents of EN 60598-2-17 and your own national norms during installation.
A qualified technician should carry out the installation!
• The supporting structure for the device must be able to carry 10 times the required weight for one hour
without deformation of that structure.
• The installation must always be secured by a secondary safety attachment e.g. a safety cable (VDLSC7
or VDLSC8).
• Do not stand directly below the device when mounting, removing or servicing it. Have a qualified
technician check the installation once a year and once before you bring the device into service.
Procedure
• Install the device in a location with few passers-by that is inaccessible to unauthorised persons.
• Overhead mounting requires extensive experience: calculating work load limits, determining the
installation material to be used… Have the material and the device itself checked regularly. Do not
attempt to install the device yourself if you lack these qualifications as improper installation may result
in injuries.
• Make sure there is no flammable material within a 50cm radius of the device.
• A qualified electrician should carry out the electric connection.
• Connect the device to the mains with the power plug. In general, lighting effects should not be
connected to dimming packs. Put the power switch in the ON position. The device will produce colourful
light beams at a steady pace.
• The installation has to be approved by an expert before the device is taken into service.

4. Installatie
a) Lamp inbrengen of vervangen
OPGELET: Breng enkel een lamp in wanneer het toestel niet is aangesloten op het lichtnet en vervang
elke beschadigde lamp.
• Tijdens de werking van het toestel kunnen de lampen uiterst heet worden. Laat de lampen daarom
gedurende minstens 10 minuten afkoelen voor u ze vervangt.
• Raak de halogeenlampen niet aan met uw blote handen. Gebruik een propere doek om de lampen in te
brengen en te verwijderen.
• Installeer nooit een lamp met een hogere wattage omdat ze hogere temperaturen genereren dan die
waarvoor het toestel geschikt is.
• Gebruik twee lampen (230V/40W) met een E12-fitting.
Procedure
1. Schroef het deksel aan de bovenkant van de behuizing los. Binnenin ziet u de halve bal waarin zich de
gekleurde lenzen bevinden.
2. Verwijder de halve bal voorzichtig.
3. Verwijder de oude lamp en breng de nieuwe in.
4. Breng de halve bal voorzichtig weer op zijn plaats.
5. Schroef het deksel dicht.
Opmerking : Gebruik het toestel niet zolang het deksel niet is vastgeschroefd!!
b) Toestel monteren
Opmerking: Bekijk eerst eens de inhoud van richtlijn EN 60598-2-17 en de (eventuele) nationale normen
voor u het toestel installeert. Een geschoold technicus moet de installatie uitvoeren!
• De draagstructuur voor het toestel moet het gedurende 1 uur 10 x het vereiste gewicht kunnen dragen
zonder dat de constructie daardoor wordt vervormd.
• Het toestel moet ook worden vastgemaakt met een tweede bevestigingsmiddel vb. een veiligheidskabel
(VDLSC7 of VDLSC8).
• Ga niet net onder het toestel staan wanneer u het monteert, verwijdert of herstelt. Een geschoold
technicus moet de installatie controleren voor u de VDL80FB in gebruik neemt. Laat het toestel ook 1
x per jaar nakijken.
Procedure
• Installeer dit toestel op een plaats waar niemand het kan aanraken en waar niet veel mensen
voorbijkomen.
• Een degelijke praktijkervaring is vereist voor de plaatsing van dit toestel. U moet de
maximumbelasting van de draagconstructie kunnen berekenen, weten welk constructiemateriaal u kunt
gebruiken en u moet het gebruikte materiaal en het toestel geregeld laten nakijken. Monteer het
toestel niet zelf indien u er geen ervaring mee heeft. Een slechte montage kan leiden tot
verwondingen.
• Verwijder alle brandbaar materiaal in een straal van 50cm rond het toestel.
• Een geschoolde elektricien moet het toestel aansluiten.
• Sluit het toestel aan op het lichtnet via de stekker. Lichteffecten worden bij voorkeur niet aangesloten
op een dimmerpack. Plaats de voedingsschakelaar in de ON-stand. Het toestel produceert nu kleurrijke
stralen aan een constante snelheid.
• De installatie moet voor de ingebruikneming worden gekeurd door een expert.
5. Onderhoud
1. Alle gebruikte schroeven moeten goed zijn aangespannen en mogen geen sporen van roest vertonen.
2. De behuizing, de lenzen, de montagebeugels en de montageplaats (bvb het plafond of het gebinte)
mogen niet worden aangepast, bvb geen extra gaten boren in montagebeugels, de aansluitingen niet
veranderen enz.
