2. Safety Instructions
Be very careful during the installation: touching live wires can cause life-threatening electroshocks.
Do not touch the device during operation as the housing heats up.
Keep this device away from rain and moisture.
Unplug the mains lead before opening the housing.
• Damage caused by disregard of certain guidelines in this manual is not covered by the warranty and the dealer
will not accept responsibility for any ensuing defects or problems.
• A qualified technician should install and service this device.
• Do not switch the device on immediately after it has been exposed to changes in temperature. Protect the device
against damage by leaving it switched off until it has reached room temperature.
• This device falls under protection class I. It is therefore essential that the device be earthed. Have a qualified
person carry out the electric connection.
• Make sure that the available voltage does not exceed the voltage stated in the specifications of this manual.
• Do not crimp the power cord and protect it against damage. Have an authorised dealer replace it if necessary.
• Disconnect the device from the mains to clean it or when it is not in use. Handle the power cord by the plug only.
• There may be some smoke or a particular smell when the device is activated for the first time. This is normal and
any smoke or smell will gradually disappear.
• Do not look directly at the light source as sensitive people may go into epileptic seizure if they do.
• Note that damage caused by user modifications to the device is not covered by the warranty.
• Keep the device away from children and unauthorised users.
3. General Guidelines
• This device is designed for professional use on stage, in discos, theatres, etc. The VDL100GM should only be
used indoors with an alternating current of max. 230VAC / 50Hz.
• Lighting effects are not designed for permanent operation: regular operation breaks will prolong their lives.
• Do not shake the device. Avoid brute force when installing or operating the device.
• Select a location where the device is protected against extreme heat (see “Technical Specifications”), dust and
moisture. Respect a minimum distance of 0.5m between the device’s light output and any illuminated surface.

• Use an appropriate safety cable to fix the device (e.g. VDLSC7 or VDLSC8).
• Familiarise yourself with the functions of the device before actually using it. Do not allow operation by unqualified
people. Any damage that may occur will most probably be due to unprofessional use of the device.
• Use the original packaging if the device is to be transported.
• All modifications of the device are forbidden for safety reasons.
• Only use the device for its intended purpose. All other uses may lead to short circuits, burns, electroshocks, lamp
explosion, crash, etc. Using the device in an unauthorised way will void the warranty.
4. Installation
a) Lamps and fuse
This fixture is fitted with halogen lamps which are highly susceptible to damage if
improperly handled. Never touch the lamps with your bare hands as the oil from
your hands will shorten lamp life. Also never move the fixture unless the lamp had
some time to cool down. Lamps are not covered under warranty conditions.
Caution: Always replace with exact the same lamp and fuse. Replacing with
anything else can damage your unit and will void the warranty.
Warning: If after replacing the lamp or fuse the unit still continues to blow up the
lamps, STOP using the unit and contact your dealer.
This unit is equipped with a built-in safety breaker. This breaker is designed to protect the unit in case of power
trouble. This will reduce the risk of an electric shock and fire. To reset the breaker push the breaker button in until
you hear it pop-back into place.
Lamp replacement:
Never attempt to change the lamp while the fixture is plugged in and running. Always disconnect main power and
allow the unit some time to cool down before replacing the lamp.
Be sure to follow all the proper handling procedures:
1. Never touch the lamp with your bare hands.
2. Remove the two screws located on the front of the unit.
3. Remove and replace the lamp.
4. Reassemble in reverse order.
Remark: Do not operate the device when the cover is open.
b) Mounting the Device
• Have the device installed by a qualified person, respecting EN 60598-2-17 and all other applicable norms.
• The construction to which the device is attached should be able to support 10 times the weight of the device for
one hour without deformation.
• The installation must always be secured with a secondary attachment e.g. a safety cable.
• Never stand directly below the device when it is being mounted, removed or serviced. Have a qualified technician
check the device once a year and once before you bring it into service.
• Install the device in a location with few passers-by that is inaccessible to unauthorised persons.
• Overhead mounting requires extensive experience: calculating workload limits, determining the installation
material to be used… Have the material and the device itself checked regularly. Do not attempt to install the
device yourself if you lack these qualifications as improper installation may result in injuries.
• Adjust the desired inclination angle via the mounting bracket and tighten the bracket screws.
• Make sure there is no flammable material within a 0.5m radius of the device.

• Have a qualified electrician carry out the electric connection.
• Connect the device to the mains with the power plug. Don’t connect it to a dimming pack.
• The installation has to be approved by an expert before the device is taken into service.
5. Use
Switch the device on and off by means of the power plug. Do not operate the device continuously.
The fixture is designed to operate as a stand-alone unit, there is no external controller needed. This unit is ready to
plug in, out of the box. If there is no lamp output, check the lamp or the fuse. If these are good please contact your
dealer.
Mode switches:
The unit comes with two mode switches on the rear of the unit. Switch 1 controls the reflector dish; switch 2 controls
the gobo wheel. When the switches are in the up position (position 1) the wheels will rotate continuously regardless
of the sound. When the switches are in the middle position (position 0) the wheels will remain static (no rotation).
When the switches are down (position 2) the wheels will be sound-activated. Each wheel will operate separately.
6. Cleaning and Maintenance
1. All screws should be tightened and free of corrosion.
2. The housing, the lenses, the mounting supports and the installation location (e.g. ceiling, suspension, trussing)
should not be deformed, modified or tampered with e.g. do not drill extra holes in mounting supports, do not
change the location of the connections, …
3. Mechanically moving parts must not show any signs of wear and tear.
4. The electric power supply cables must not show any damage. Have a qualified technician maintain the device.
5. Disconnect the device from the mains prior to maintenance activities.
6. Wipe the device regularly with a moist, lint-free cloth. Do not use alcohol or solvents.
7. There are no user-serviceable parts, apart from the lamp and the fuse (see “Installation”).
8. Contact your dealer for spare parts if necessary.

2. Veiligheidsinstructies

Raak het toestel niet aan wanneer het in gebruik is: de behuizing wordt warm.
Bescherm dit toestel tegen regen en vochtigheid.
Verzeker u ervan dat het toestel niet aangesloten is op een stroombron alvorens het te openen.
• De garantie geldt niet voor schade door het negeren van bepaalde richtlijnen in deze handleiding en uw dealer zal
de verantwoordelijkheid afwijzen voor defecten of problemen die hier rechtstreeks verband mee houden.
• Laat dit toestel installeren en onderhouden door een geschoolde technicus.
• Om beschadiging te vermijden, zet u het toestel best niet aan onmiddellijk nadat het werd blootgesteld aan
temperatuurschommelingen. Wacht tot het toestel op kamertemperatuur gekomen is.
• Dit toestel valt onder beschermingsklasse I, wat wil zeggen dat het toestel geaard moet zijn. Een geschoolde
technicus moet de elektrische aansluiting verzorgen.
• De beschikbare netspanning mag niet hoger zijn dan de spanning in de specificaties achteraan de handleiding.
• De voedingskabel mag niet omgeplooid of beschadigd zijn. Laat uw dealer zo nodig een nieuwe kabel plaatsen.
• Trek de stekker uit het stopcontact (trek niet aan de kabel!) voordat u het toestel reinigt en als u het niet gebruikt.
• Wanneer u het toestel voor het eerst gebruikt, kan dit gepaard gaan met een lichte rookontwikkeling en een
bepaalde geur. Dit is normaal en de eventuele rook of geur zal geleidelijk aan verdwijnen.
• Kijk niet rechtstreeks in de lichtbron. De lichtbron kan bij gevoelige mensen leiden tot een aanval van epilepsie.
• Schade door wijzigingen die de gebruiker heeft aangebracht aan het toestel vallen niet onder de garantie.
• Houd dit toestel uit de buurt van kinderen en onbevoegden.
3. Algemene richtlijnen
• Dit toestel is ontworpen voor professioneel gebruik op podia, in disco's, enz. U mag dit toestel enkel binnenshuis
gebruiken door de meegeleverde adapter aan te sluiten op een wisselspanning van maximum 230VAC / 50Hz.
• Lichteffecten zijn niet ontworpen voor continue werking: regelmatige onderbrekingen doen ze langer meegaan.
• Schud het toestel niet dooreen. Vermijd brute kracht tijdens de installatie en de bediening van dit toestel.
• Installeer het toestel weg van extreme temperaturen (zie “Technische specificaties”), vochtigheid en stof. Zorg
voor een minimumafstand van 0.5m tussen de lichtuitgang van het toestel en het belichte oppervlak.

• Maak het toestel vast met een geschikte veiligheidskabel (bvb. VDLSC7 of VDLSC8).
• Leer eerst de functies van het toestel kennen voor u het gaat gebruiken. Ongeschoolde personen mogen dit
toestel niet gebruiken. Meestal is beschadiging het gevolg van onprofessioneel gebruik.
• Gebruik de oorspronkelijke verpakking wanneer u het toestel vervoert.
• Om veiligheidsredenen mag de gebruiker geen wijzigingen aanbrengen aan het toestel.
• Gebruik het toestel enkel waarvoor het gemaakt is. Andere toepassingen kunnen leiden tot kortsluitingen,
brandwonden, elektrische schokken, enz. Bij onoordeelkundig gebruik vervalt de garantie.
4. Installatie
a) Lampen en zekering
Het toestel is uitgerust met breekbare halogeenlampen. Behandel ze dus voorzichtig.
Raak de lampen nooit met blote handen, aangezien het vet van uw handen de
levensduur kan verkorten. Laat de lamp eerst een tijdje afkoelen voor u het toestel
verplaatst. De lampen vallen niet onder de garantie.
Opgelet: Vervang de lamp en de zekering door producten van hetzelfde type. Gebruikt
u een ander product, dan kan dit uw toestel beschadigen en de garantie laten
vervallen.
Waarschuwing: Gebruik het toestel niet wanneer, nadat u de lamp of de zekering
hebt vervangen, de lampen steeds springen.
Het toestel is uitgerust met een ingebouwde zekering. Deze zekering beveiligt uw toestel wanneer er
voedingsproblemen optreden en verkleint het risico op elektrische schokken en brand. Om de zekering terug in te
schakelen, duw op de zekeringknop tot u hem op zijn plaats hoort klikken.
De lamp vervangen:
• Vervang een lamp nooit wanneer het toestel ingeschakeld is of nog op het lichtnet gekoppeld is.
• Ontkoppel het toestel van het lichtnet en laat het gedurende enige tijd afkoelen.
• Volg deze instructies:
1. Raak de lamp nooit met blote handen.
2. Maak de twee schroeven vooraan het toestel los.
3. Verwijder en vervang de lamp.
4. Monteer het toestel door de stappen in omgekeerde richting te volgen.
Opmerking: Stel het toestel niet in werking wanneer het deksel eraf is.
5. Gebruik
Schakel het toestel in en uit met behulp van de voedingsstekker. Gebruik het toestel niet continu.
Het toestel is ontworpen om autonoom te werken en hoeft geen externe controller. Het toestel is gebruiksklaar.
Brandt de lamp niet nadat u het toestel hebt ingeschakeld, controleer dan de lamp en de zekering. Verkeren deze in
goede staat, neem dan contact op met uw verdeler.
Modeschakelaars:
Het toestel is uitgerust met twee modeschakelaars. Schakelaar 1 bestuurt de reflecterende plaat; schakelaar 2
bestuurt het gobo-wiel. Staan de schakelaars in de bovenste stand (stand 1), dan draaien de wielen ononderbroken
ongeacht de muziek. Staan de schakelaars in de middelste stand (stand 0), dan blijven de wielen stil (geen
draaibeweging). Staan de schakelaars in de onderste stand (stand 2), dan zijn de wielen muziekgestuurd. Elk wiel
draait afzonderlijk.
