4. Features

This camera is equipped with a Sony EXMOR CMOS image sensor
and a high performance image DSP. The "EXMOR" high-speed CMOS
sensor has enhanced noise reduction and A/D conversion speed. This
new chipset gives a video signal up to 1000 TV lines. The IR-cut
filter will filter the IR light, so it cannot distort the colour image.
When it gets dark, the camera automatically switches to night mode.
In night mode, the camera enables the IR LEDs and disables the IR­cut filter.

6. Hardware installation

Refer to the illustrations on page 2 of this manual.

1. Choose a location for the camera, keeping following guidelines in

mind:
o do not install the camera in locations where extremely high or

low temperatures or excessive vibrations may occur.

o avoid mounting the camera near high electro-magnetic fields.
o do not aim the camera at the sun or other extremely bright

objects or reflections (e.g. metal doors).

2. Hold the mounting plate [1] and unscrew the fixation ring [2] by

turning it counter-clockwise. Note that the lens enclosure [5] and
positioning ring [3] are also released.

3. Use the mounting plate [1] to determine the position of the

mounting holes. Drill the holes.

4. Guide the power and video cable [11] through one of the cable

slots [10] and fix the mounting plate [1] on the ceiling or wall
with the four screws.

5. Position the positioning ring [3] over the lens enclosure [5] onto

the mounting plate [1] and then fix the ensemble by screwing
the fixation ring [2] onto the mounting plate [1]. Make sure the
fixation ring is not screwed too tight to leave the option open to
position the lens into the direction of the desired field of
operation.

6. Connect the video connector [A] to a monitor (not incl.) or a

sequential switcher/quad splitter (not incl.) in case of multiple
domes.

7. Connect the power connector [B] to a 12 VDC power supply (not

incl.).

8. Set up the desired field of observation by adjusting the position of

the lens enclosure [5] in the positioning ring [3].

9. Manually adjust the zoom [4] and focus [8] with their screws.

The location of the screws can be determined by looking at the
position of the light sensor [9].

10. Tighten the fixation ring [2] to secure the camera’s position.

 Press and hold the button during

± 2 seconds to access the menu, or press
briefly to select an option.

 Press the button upward and downward to

move up and down in the menu.

 Press the button to the left and to the right

to modify the menu parameters.

Menu: IMAGE > 3D-NR

Select ON to activate 3D noise reduction; select OFF to deactivate.

7. OSD Settings

7.1 Control Buttons

There is a small joystick in the camera cable that allows you to
adjust the settings of the camera using an on-screen display (OSD).

In the OSD menu:
 NEXT/BACK: select this option and press the button to go to the

next/previous page of options in the menu.

 RETURN: select this option and press the button to return to the

previous level in the menu.

 EXIT: select this option and press the button to leave the OSD

menu without saving the settings.

 SAVE&EXIT: select this option and press the button to save all

settings.

 LOAD DEFAULT: select this option and press the middle button to

reset the camera to the factory defaults.

 SOFT VERSION: displays the version number of the camera

software.

The OSD menu settings are described in detail below.

7.2 Noise Reduction

Use this function to switch 3D noise reduction on or off.

Menu: IMAGE > AE MODE

 GLOBAL: use the global image to define exposure.
 CENTER: use the centre of the image to define exposure.
 CENTER WEIGHT: use the global image, but assign more

importance to the centre of the image and less importance to the
edges.

 BACK LIGHT: back light compensation. If there is a bright light in

the background, for example from a window, the image around it
may be too dim to see clearly. In that case, use the backlight
function to compensate. The camera automatically brightens the
dim parts of the image.

 FRONT LIGHT: front light compensation. Use this setting when

there is a bright light illuminating the front of the image.

 DISTINGUISH: for advanced automatic exposure.

Menu: IMAGE > IMAGE ENHANCE

SHARPNESS

Use this option to adjust the sharpness of edges
and details in the image.

DETAIL: use this option to adjust the sharpness of
details in more uniform areas of the image.

 AUTO: for automatic adjustment.
 MANUAL: for manual adjustment (0–15).

EDGE: use this option to adjust the sharpness of
edges in the image.

 AUTO: for automatic adjustment.
 MANUAL: for manual adjustment (0–15).

7.3 WDR Function

The WDR function (Wide Dynamic Range) optimizes a picture with
extreme backlight. The camera combines two images, one with a fast
shutter speed and one with a slow shutter speed. This function is
useful for a camera oriented towards a strong light source.

7.4 Automatic Exposure

Use this function to set the exposure method.

7.5 Image Enhancement

These are common adjustments for video images: sharpness,
contrast, and saturation.

CONTRAST

Use this option to enhance the image contrast.

 AUTO: for automatic adjustment.
 MANUAL: for manual adjustment (0–15).
 GAIN MAP: advanced contrast adjustment.

SATURATION

Use this function to adjust the colour saturation.

 AUTO: for automatic adjustment.
 MANUAL: for manual adjustment (0–15).

Menu: IMAGE > TURN > MIRROR

Select ON to mirror the image; select
OFF to keep the image as it is.

Menu: IMAGE > TURN > FLIP

Select ON to flip the image upside
down; select OFF to keep the image as
it is.

Menu: IMAGE > BRIGHTNESS

7.6 Mirror and Flip

Use the MIRROR and FLIP functions to mirror the image or to flip it
upside down.

7.7 Brightness

Use this option to set the image brightness (0–250).

7.8 Day/Night

The camera automatically switches between colour images in day
conditions and black-and-white images in night conditions.
Use this function to control the day/night behaviour of the camera.

Menu: DAY&NIGHT

 AUTO: use this setting for cameras without IR-cut filter, or if you

want to switch the IR-cut filter off during the day. In this case, the
IR light is not filtered during the day, and colours may be
distorted by the IR light.

 EXTERNAL: standard setting. The camera uses the IR filter in day

conditions, and switches to a black and white image and switches
off the IR filter in night conditions.

 COLOR: the camera always works in colour mode with the IR

filter.

 B&W: the camera always works in black and white mode.

Menu: WB

The following white balance settings are available: AWB-PRO, AWB­TEMPORAL, AWB-AI, AWB-SZ, AWB-GW, AWB-CCT.
Defining the optimal setting depends on the illumination conditions of
your particular environment. To find the optimal setting, try each of
the settings and select the one that gives the best results.

Menu: ZONE MASKING

COLOR

Select black, white or a colour for the mask, or
select MOSAIC for a mosaic effect in the masked
area.

7.9 White Balance

Use this menu option to define the white balance adjustment. White
balance makes sure that white objects are always reproduced
correctly.

7.10 Zone Masking for Privacy

Use this function to block a part of the image where you do not want
to view activity. For example, if part of the image shows a public
area where recording may be illegal. You can define up to 8 areas.

To define up to 8 areas. Select the desired area and
use the settings below.
 STATUS: select ON to activate the selected

masked area; select OFF to deactivate the
selected masked area.

 HORIZON SIZE:

set the width [a]
(in pixels) of the
masked area.

 VERTICAL SIZE:

sets the height [b]
(in pixels) of the
masked area.

 HORIZON MOVE:

sets the distance
(in pixels) from the
left side of the
screen [c] for the
masked area.

 VERTICAL MOVE:

Menu: DIRECTION

SENSITIVITY

Set the motion detection sensitivity. With a higher
sensitivity, slighter movements will be detected.
Available options for sensitivity: WEAK (weak);
LOW (low); MIDDLE (medium), and HIGH (high).

7.11 Motion Detection

Use this function to see motion detection during live monitoring. You
can define up to 4 separate areas for motion detection. If the camera
detects motion in an area, the outer edge of that area will ‘flash’.

To define up to 4 areas. Select the desired area and
use the settings below.

 STATUS: select ON to activate the selected

detection area; select OFF to deactivate the
selected detection area.

 COLOR: set the colour of the detection area. The

outer edge of the area will flash in this colour
when the camera detects motion.

 HORIZON SIZE: set the

width [a] (in pixels) of the
detection area.

 VERTICAL SIZE: sets the

height [b] (in pixels) of the
detection area.

 HORIZON MOVE: sets the

distance (in pixels) from the
left side of the screen [c] for

4. Eigenschappen

Deze camera is uitgerust met een Sony EXMOR CMOS-beeldsensor
en een krachtige digitale beeldverwerking (DSP). De ultrasnelle
EXMOR CMOS-sensor biedt een verbeterde ruisonderdrukking en
A/D-conversiesnelheid. Deze nieuwe chipset stuurt een videosignaal
tot 1000 tv-lijnen. De IR-sperfilter minimaliseert de invloed van
infrarood licht zodat de kleurweergave niet kan worden verstoord.
Wanneer het donker wordt, schakelt de camera automatisch over op
nachtzicht. In nachtmodus worden de IR-LEDs geactiveerd en de IR­filter uitgeschakeld.

6. Hardware-installatie

Raadpleeg de afbeeldingen op pagina 2 van deze handleiding.

1. Kies een geschikte montageplaats voor de camera en houd

rekening met volgende punten:
o Monteer de camera nooit op een plaats onderhevig aan

extreme temperaturen en trillingen.

o Monteer de camera nooit in de buurt van elektromagnetische

velden.

o Richt de camera niet naar de zon of naar een

lichtweerkaatsend voorwerp (bv. een metalen deur).

2. Houd de montageplaat vast [1] en schroef de bevestigingsring

(linksom) los [2]. Merk op dat de lensbehuizing [5] en de
positioneringsring [3] ook losgemaakt worden.

3. Bepaal de montagegaten aan de hand van de montageplaat

[1].Boor de gaten.

4. Leid de voedings- en videokabel [11] door een van de

kabelvoorzieningen [10] en bevestig de montageplaat [1] op
plafond of muur met de vier schroeven.

5. Breng de positioneringsring aan [3] over de lensbehuizing [5] op

de montageplaat [1] en bevestig vervolgens het geheel door de
bevestigingsring vast te schroeven [2] op de montageplaat[1].
.Zorg ervoor dat de bevestigingsring niet te hard vastgeschroefd
is zodanig dat het nog mogelijk is de lens naar wens te
positioneren.

6. Koppel de videoconnector [A] aan een monitor (niet meegelev.)

of een splitter bij meerdere camera's

7. Koppel de voedingsaansluiting [B] aan de 12VDC-voeding (niet

meegeleverd).

8. Om de bewakingszone in te stellen, regel de positie van de

lensbehuizing [5] in de positioneringsring [3].

9. Regel de zoom manueel [4] en stel scherp [8] met de

schroeven. De plaats van de schroeven wordt bepaald door de
positie van de lichtsensor [9].

10. Draai de bevestigingsring [2] vast om de camera stevig vast te

zetten.

 Houd de knop gedurende ± 2 seconden

ingedrukt om het menu te openen, of druk
kort om een optie te selecteren.

 Druk op de knop omhoog/omlaag om naar

boven en beneden te scrollen in het menu.

 Druk op de knop links/rechts om de menu-

instellingen te wijzigen.

Menu: IMAGE > 3D-NR

Selecteer ON om de 3D-ruisonderdrukking te activeren; selecteer
OFF om te deactiveren.

7. OSD-instellingen

7.1 Instelknoppen

Met een kleine joystick in de camerakabel kunt u de camera­instellingen via een instelmenu (OSD) regelen.

Het OSD-menu:
 NEXT/BACK: selecteer deze optie en druk op de knop om naar de

volgende/vorige pagina met menuopties te gaan.

 RETURN: selecteer deze optie en druk op de knop om naar het

vorige niveau in het menu terug te keren.

 EXIT: selecteer deze optie en druk op de knop om het OSD-menu

te verlaten zonder de instellingen op te slaan.

 SAVE&EXIT: selecteer deze optie en druk op de knop om alle

instellingen op te slaan.

 LOAD DEFAULT: selecteer deze optie en druk op de middelste

knop om de camera terug te zetten naar de fabrieksinstellingen.

 SOFT VERSION: de softwareversie van de camera weergeven.
Zie hieronder voor meer informatie over de OSD-instellingen.

7.2 Ruisonderdrukking
Gebruik deze functie om 3D-ruisonderukking in of uit te schakelen.

 GLOBAL: gebruik het volledige beeld om de belichting te bepalen.
 CENTER: gebruik het centrum van het beeld om de belichting te

bepalen.

 CENTER WEIGHT: gebruik het volledige beeld, maar leg meer

nadruk op het centrum dan op de randen van het beeld.

 BACK LIGHT: tegenlichtcompensatie. Bij een helder

achtergrondlicht (bijv. venster), kan het beeld errond te donker
zijn en dus niet duidelijk worden waargenomen. Is dit het geval,
gebruik dan de tegenlichtcompensatie. De camera past de
helderheid van de donkere beelddelen automatisch aan.

 FRONT LIGHT: compensatie frontaal licht. Gebruik deze instelling

wanneer het voorwerp frontaal wordt belicht.

 DISTINGUISH: geavanceerde automatische belichting.

Menu: IMAGE > IMAGE ENHANCE

SHARPNESS

Gebruik deze optie om de beeldscherpte van de
randen en details in het beeld in te stellen.

DETAIL: gebruik deze optie om de beeldscherpte
van de details in meer gelijke delen van het beeld
in te stellen.

 AUTO: automatische regeling.
 MANUAL: manuele regeling (0–15).

7.3 WDR-Functie

De WDR-functie (Wide Dynamic Range) optimaliseert afbeeldingen
met veel achtergrondverlichting. De camera combineert twee
afbeeldingen, 1 met een hoge sluitersnelheid en 1 met een lage
sluitersnelheid. Deze functie is handig voor camera's die gericht zijn
naar sterke lichtbronnen.

7.4 Automatische belichting

Gebruik deze functie om de belichtingsmethode in te stellen.

7.5 Beeldverbetering

Dit zijn de meest gebruikte beeldinstellingen: beeldscherpte, contrast
en verzadiging.

EDGE: gebruik deze optie om de beeldscherpte
van de randen in het beeld in te stellen.

 AUTO: automatische regeling.
 MANUAL: manuele regeling (0–15).

CONTRAST

Gebruik deze optie om het beeldcontrast te
optimaliseren.

 AUTO: automatische regeling.
 MANUAL: manuele regeling (0–15).
 GAIN MAP: geavanceerde contrastinstelling.

SATURATION

Gebruik deze functie om de kleurverzadiging in te
stellen.

 AUTO: automatische regeling.
 MANUAL: manuele regeling (0–15).

Menu: IMAGE > TURN > MIRROR

Selecteer ON om het beeld te
spiegelen; selecteer OFF om het beeld
ongewijzigd te laten.

Menu: IMAGE > TURN > FLIP

Selecteer ON om het beeld
ondersteboven te draaienselecteer OFF

7.6 Spiegel- en draaifunctie

Gebruik de functies MIRROR en FLIP om het beeld te spiegelen of te
draaien.

7.7 Helderheid

Gebruik deze optie om de helderheid van het beeld in te stellen (0–

250).

7.8 Dag/Nacht

De camera schakelt automatisch tussen kleurenmodus (overdag) en
zwart-witmodus ('s nachts).
Gebruik deze functie om de dag- en nachtwerking van de camera te
controleren.
