Fever Monitor. This Fever Monitor will enable you to continuously monitor your baby’s fever without having to disturb her. Use the Fever Monitor when your baby is not feeling well and is feverish, or if your child is prone to extreme spikes in temperature.
The Fever Monitor keeps track of your baby’s temperature from the surface of the skin. It clips to the diaper or pajamas with the sensor probe resting against the skin. Be sure the sensor probe is touching your baby’s skin and that your baby is wearing clothing that covers the stomach as well as the monitor to avoid the loss of body heat.
The Fever Monitor will alert you if your baby’s fever spikes up one degree. For example, if your baby’s temperature is 100°F (37.8°C) and goes up to 101°F (38.3°C), the Fever Monitor will continuously beep until you reset it. If the Fever Monitor loses contact with your baby’s skin it will also beep continuously until you readjust it. These beeps are gentle enough not to wake your baby but loud enough to be picked up by your sound monitor so you can sleep more easily when she is not feeling well.
You may also use the probe of the Fever Monitor as an oral thermometer to get an accurate temperature reading and to compare the temperature registered from the skin with the temperature registered with a more conventional method. Remember to clean the probe with alcohol with each use.
Use of the Fever Monitor should not replace a visit to your doctor. It is recommended that you advise your doctor any time a temperature is above 100°F (37.8°C).
NOTE: This product is intended for use with children under 8 years old.
