IINSTRUCTIONS

You can power both the camera and the video receiver with batteries or an AC

4adapter. Each unit requires 6 AA batteries for battery operation. Both units have

rechargeable circuits, therefore, when using the AC adapters, make sure you only have rechargeable batteries or no batteries at all in the battery compartment. The battery life of the rechargeable batteries is approximately 3-3 1/2 hours in the video receiver and 5 hours in the camera. For long periods of non-use, remove all batteries from their compartments and unplug the AC adapters.

FOR BATTERY POWER

1.Remove the battery cover with a flathead screwdriver. The battery cover is on the bottom of the camera and on the back of the monitor.

2.Insert 6 AA alkaline or rechargeable batteries into either unit or both units matching Positive (+) to Positive and Negative (-) to Negative. For complete battery power you will need a total of 12 AA batteries (6 rechargeable batteries are included with your monitor).

3.Replace the battery cover with a screwdriver.

4.Charge the rechargeable batteries 10-12 hours before using the monitor on battery power for the first time. This can be done while operating the monitor on AC power or when the monitor is off. Charge the batteries by plugging the adapter directly into the monitor or into the monitor stand.

FOR AC POWER

1. IMPORTANT: make sure you only have rechargeable batteries or no batteries at all in the battery compartment when using an AC adapter.

2. Insert the end of one adapter into the jack marked 9V DC that appears on the 5 side of the monitor and one into the jack marked 9V DC on the back of

the camera.

3. Plug the adapters into your electrical outlet.

HOW TO USE

1.Turn both units on by pressing the Power ON/OFF button on the front of the camera and by turning the ON/OFF dial on the side of the video monitor. The monitor’s ON/OFF dial is also the volume control.

2.The power indicator on the front of both units will turn on and will be green.

3.Rotate the camera head so it faces your baby.

4.Adjust the monitor’s volume with the volume control knob.

5.Select the channel that gives you the best reception. The channel selector is located on the side of the camera and on the front of the video receiver. Make sure both units are tuned into the same channel.

6.For daytime vision, place the camera up to 10 feet from your baby making sure it is out of reach. Adjust the antenna to achieve the best reception. You may also have to adjust the distance of the camera from your baby.

7.For nighttime vision place the camera no more than 6 feet from your baby making sure it is out of reach. Adjust the antenna to achieve the best reception. You may also have to adjust the distance of the camera from your baby. Remember, when using the infrared night vision the image will only be in black and white.

8.If the camera and video receiver are too close to each other you will hear static or feedback. If this happens, increase the distance between the 2 units.

9.To mount the camera on the wall, use the mounting screws and anchors using the template provided. Caution: Position the power cord out of the reach of children.

SPECIAL FEATURES

VOICE ACTIVATION: BATTERY-SAVING FEATURE FOR CAMERA

6 The Voice Activation dial is on the side of the camera. When this is switched on, the camera will only transmit a picture when sound is detected in the child’s room. If

there is no sound your screen will be blank. You can adjust the sensitivity of this feature by turning the dial to the right or the left. The use of this feature will prolong the life of the batteries in the camera when powering the camera with batteries only.

LCD ON/OFF: BATTERY-SAVING FEATURE FOR MONITOR

You can turn the screen of the video receiver off and still maintain the sound monitor function. To use this function slide the LCD ON/OFF button on the side of the monitor to the desired position. The use of this feature will prolong the life of the batteries in the monitor when powering the monitor with batteries only.

AUDIO/VISUAL OUTPUT LINK

You can connect the video receiver to your own television by using the cable provided. Connect the black end of the AV cable to the AV Output jack on the side of the video receiver and the other end of the cable to the audio and video input jacks of your television or VCR. If your television has a Picture-in-Picture feature, you can use this to monitor you baby while watching television.

MAINTAINING YOUR MONITOR

1.Do not have alkaline batteries in the battery compartment while using AC power. Having alkaline batteries installed in the battery compartment while using the AC adapter may damage the battery compartments and the units.

2.Replace the batteries in the camera when the power indicator turns to orange.

3.

Replace the batteries in the monitor when the image starts to shrink or the power

indicator turns to orange.

4.

Do not mix old and new batteries.

5.

Do not mix alkaline and rechargeable batteries in the same unit.

7

6.

Remove the batteries during long periods of non-use.

7.The service life of all batteries is limited. When using the monitor for long periods of time you may prefer to use AC power instead of battery power.

8.Use only the AC adapters supplied with this unit.

9.Improper use of the adapters may cause the unit to malfunction.

FOR YOUR WELL BEING

1.Do not operate this monitor near a bathtub or sink or any other place where there would be the risk of getting the monitor wet.

2.Make sure both the camera and video receiver are properly ventilated. They should not be placed in a manner that may block the ventilation or anywhere that will prevent the flow of air through the ventilation openings.

3.Keep this monitor away from heat sources such as radiators or stoves.

4.Avoid direct sunlight. If you are operating the unit outside, keep it in the shade.

5.Only use the AC adapters provided with your monitor.

6.Do not keep alkaline batteries in the battery compartments when operating on AC power.

7.Never use water to clean the monitor. Use a dry cloth to keep it free of dust.

WARNING

This monitor does not replace responsible adult supervision of a child. You should personally check your child at regular intervals. This is not a toy. Keep out of the reach of children.
