2. Installation
1. Connect the RJ-11 telephone cable to the TEW-816DRM modem's VDSL/ADSL port, then into
a phone jack.
2. Connect your computer's network port to one of the modem's LAN ports.
3. Connect the power adapter to the modem, and then to a power outlet. Push the power switch
to the ON position.

4. To confirm that the device is fully functional, verify that the status LED indicators on the front of
the modem are lit: Power (Green), DSL (Green), Wireless (Green) and the LAN port (1, 2, 3,
4) your computer is connected (Green).

3. VDSL Setup
Note: It is recommended that you configure the modem from a wired computer.
1. Open your web browser, type http://192.168.10.1 into the address bar of your web browser,
and press enter.
2. Log in using default Username and Password located on the front sticker or the label on the
back of the modem.

3. Once you are logged in, click Setup, and then click Setup Wizard to start configuring the
modem.
Note: In the example below, we will be configuring a VDSL connection type with PPPoE
connection type. If you are unsure of your connection type, contact your Internet Service
Provider.

4. Select the Internet connection mode you would like to configure, and click Next to continue.
PPPoE (RFC-2516 PPP over Ethernet)
5. Select the Internet connection type to configure, and click Next. PPPoE is selected because
it’s a common type. Confirm your connection type with your ISP.
6. Select your country and the Internet Server Provider (if your ISP is not listed select other).
Then enter your assigned PPPoE Username and Password from your ISP. Click Next to
continue.

7. Review your settings and click Finish to complete installation.
8. Verify that the following status lights are on: DSL (Green) and Internet (Green).
9. Open a web browser and enter a web address (for example, www.trendnet.com) to verify that
you have Internet connection.
10. Installation of your TEW-816DRM router is now complete!
Note:
We have pre-encrypted the TEW-816DRM with a unique WI-FI Name (SSID) and Wi-Fi
Password. You can find these pre-configured settings on the label on the back of the
modem. You will use this information to connect wireless devices to the modem. To change
the Wi- Fi Key, refer to the product manual. If the modem is reset the Wi-Fi Password key
and the Wi-Fi Name will also reset to factory defaults.
‚ To log back in to the modem's management page, you will need to know the modem's user
name and password. You can find the default user name and password on the label on the
bottom of the modem.

4. ADSL Setup
Note: It is recommended that you configure the modem from a wired computer.
1. Open your web browser, type http://192.168.10.1 into the address bar of your web browser,
and press enter.

5. Select the Internet connection type to configure, and click Next. PPPoE is selected because
it’s a common type. Confirm your connection type with your ISP.
6. Select A uto-detect to have it automatically detect your VPI/VCI settings, or select
Manual selection to manually enter your settings. Click Next to continue. Please wait while the
modem scans for the proper VPI and VCI settings. If the modem is having trouble detecting the
proper VPI and VCI settings, please click Manual Selection and contact your Internet Service
Provider (ISP) for the proper VPI and VCI settings.

7. Select your country and the Internet Server Provider (if your ISP is not listed select other).
Then enter your assigned PPPoE Username and Password from your ISP. Click Next to
continue.
8. Review your settings and click Finish to complete installation.
9. Verify that the following status lights are on: DSL (Green) and Internet (Green).
10. Open a web browser and enter a web address (for example, www.trendnet.com) to verify that
you have Internet connection.
11. Installation of your TEW-816DRM is now complete!

Note:
We have pre-encrypted the TEW-816DRM with a unique Wi-Fi Name (SSID) and Wi-Fi
