Read the following information carefully before using the TrekStor TV and always use it according to

Do not connect a number of power
plugs at the same time. (This may

with wet hand. (This may cause

the TrekStor TV.

It is advisable to switch off the
TrekStor TV and pull out the power
plug if you don't use it for a while (e.g.
when you go on a holiday)!

Clean the outside of product by
wiping it with lightly with a dry towel.
Remove the plug before cleaning the
TrekStor TV! (Do not use detergent or
thinner etc. for grease removal, or a
wet towel, as this may cause serious
harm!)

Do not store the TrekStor TV close to
any liquids or flammable liquids!

Do not forcefully bend the connected
power cord or have it pressed down
by heavy objects. (This may cause
fire or electric shock.)

Introduction

Congratulation on your purchase of the TrekStor TV, a state-of-the-art consumer electronic
device that will enhance and enrich your home multimedia experience.

The TrekStor TV is a portable streamer that allows you to bring your favorite movies, music,
photos and online content to your living room from various sources such as your PC, an optional
internal SATA hard disc, external USB storage devices and so on.

The player has been designed for high performance networking and top quality playback.

Due to the rapid development of our product we cannot possibly guarantee that this user manual
will include all features of the TrekStor TV. So if you have questions please feel free to browse
the Xtreamer Knowledge base or contact our support team (see back cover of this manual for
contact details).

About the TrekStor TV

Multimedia library

Easy playback of High Resolution HD-level files: The TrekStor TV supports the max. of
1920X1080 progressive scan to provide clear and high resolution picture quality.

Support for many movie formats

TrekStor TV supports a variety of HD files, such as TP, TS ,TRP and M2T, M2TS, MTS files,
but also MPEG1/2/4, Divx (3/4/5/6), Xvid, DAT, ISO, DVD (VOB, IFO) and MKV (X.264), AVC
HD, WMV9, ASF, H.264, MOV, MP4, RMVB, FLV, etc. You can conveniently enjoy watching
movies anywhere as long as you have access to a display device, such as TV.

Convenient copy

TrekStor TV allows you to copy a media file to a network-connected PC.
Also, you can copy files via Hi-Speed USB 2.0 or the network from a PC to the TrekStor TV
HDD (optional) or to USB storage device connected to the TrekStor TV.

Support for many music file formats

The TrekStor TV supports a variety of music sources, such as AAC, MPEG audio MP1/2/3/A,
WMV, WMA, FLAC, OGG, AC3, DTS and many more. As the player supports fast rewind/
forward functions, you can quickly find the desired part you want to listen to.

Digital photo album

TrekStor TV supports the high resolution JPEG and BMP image files. The entire family can
enjoy watching the files on the TV. Photos in portrait orientation can be rotated on screen for
viewing without requiring any modification.

Network-shared file play

Files shared on a network can be accessed and played back via a wired or wireless network
without having to move them to the TrekStor TV hard disk (optional).

NAS (Network Attached Storage)

The TrekStor TV can access Windows® network drives and the contents of the optional
internal HDD can also be accessed from a computer thanks to the SAMBA server function.

Built-in USB host connections

TrekStor TV has 2 Hi-Speed USB 2.0 host ports. By connecting USB external storage devices,
you can easily add additional storage to the TrekStor TV and play the files on the external
USB devices. A USB type memory card reader can also be used.

Support for UPnP clients

TrekStor TV supports UPnP server functions. TrekStor TV supports free DDNS so that you

can connect to the optional internal HDD of the TrekStor TV not only from your local PC, but

also from any PC with an Internet connection. This function can also be used from other
external devices that support UPnP client functions.

About the TrekStor TV

Support for High-Resolution HDMI

The HDMI terminal for digital signal output enables you to enjoy video content and photos
with better picture quality.

5.1CH audio output and downmixing function

TrekStor TV supports 5.1CH Dolby Digital audio, DTS and many other digital surround sound
formats. The newest firmware version (available for download soon) even supports the pass­through of 7.1 surround sound formats via HDMI and S/PDIF. If you don't want to connect a
surround receiver or other decoding device, the downmixing function lets you play 2CH audio
through TV or a stereo amplifier.

Support of free DDNS

TrekStor TV provides 1 DDNS entry (e. g. Yourname.myxtreamer.net) to connect to the built
in UPnP Web Server from a computer outside your home network or LAN environment.
(Network connection to a suitable router and Internet connection are necessary!)

Support of real time media streaming portals and free media channels

TrekStor TV provides real time searching and playing of media streaming portals (e.g.
YouTube) or other media files online without having to download the files in advance.

Internet

You can add your favorite RSS Internet feeds and enjoy custom online content.

Internet radio

Enjoy a vast variety of styles and genres with our Internet radio feature. Easily add any
number of your favorite stations.

Easy access to your favorite files

Add any file to your Favorites for easy access via the Main Menu and create playlists that can
be automatically run after startup.

iPhone and smartphone control

You can control your TrekStor TV via an iPhone or any phone capable of connecting to your
home network with a custom remote control application.

Hard-Disk Installation

Carefully remove the HDD bay cover,
as shown in the illustration, by pulling it
up and out of the housing of the
TrekStor TV.

Attach the 2.5“ SATA HDD (9.5 mm height)
to the cover of the hard drive bay as
shown in the illustration. Use the supplied
screws and pay attention that the label of
the HDD faces the side of the TrekStor TV
that has no heat sink.

Carefully insert the hard drive together with
the attached cover into the HDD bay. Do not
use force when you insert the HDD,
otherwise the SATA port may be permanently
damaged.
If you cannot easily insert the HDD, pull the
Hard drive out again and check the
connection to the cover before re-inserting it.

Caution! Carry out the following steps only if there is no hard drive pre-installed in your
TrekStor TV! If there is a pre-installed hard drive in your TrekStor TV, opening the housing

may lead to a loss of warranty.

Caution! Hard drives can be seriously damaged by electrostatic discharges. It is necessary
that you touch a grounded piece of metal (e. g. a heating or water pipe) before you take the
hard drive out of its ESD bag.

First, attach the HDMI cable to the port on the back of the TrekStor TV. Then connect the
other end of the cable to the HDMI port of your TV or your home entertainment system.

Use a suitable composite AV cable to connect the yellow video output jack and the audio jacks
(red and white) of your TrekStor TV with the corresponding jacks of your TV.

You can transmit multichannel sound to a suitable TV or home entertainment system via the

HDMI cable or via an optical S/PDIF cable. If you use an optical S/PDIF cable, connect it to

disconnecting, copied files may be incomplete so that they cannot be
played back.

When you want to transfer data from your computer
to your TrekStor TV via USB, first connect the USB
cable to the Mini-USB slave connection of TrekStor
TV and then to the computer.
Make sure that the TrekStor TV is connected to its
power supply before you connect it to the computer!

1. HDD Formatting

How to Format the Internal HDD

1. Insert HDD you want to format into TrekStor TV, and then reboot.

2. Select [Settings].

3. Select [System] – [HDD Format].

If you install a new hard disk it’s highly advisable to format it with the TrekStor TV before using it. Please

follow exactly the instructions given in the leaflet that is included in the delivery of your TrekStor TV or the
instructions below.

If you don’t want to delete all data, do not format the HDD! All data on the HDD will be lost once you start
to format the HDD.

Menu Language

Default language is in English; OSD language menu can be changed. You will therefore be able to choose
your language, select [Setting] – [System] – [Menu Language].

TrekStor TV Media Players supports the following languages:

Firmware Update

The feature displays the current firmware version. It also enables you to update firmware by selecting stored
firmware file from HDD or USB storage device. After the upgrade procedure is complete the system will reboot.
You can find additional information about the firmware upgrade procedure in section 10 of this manual.

Power Mode

Using the “Power Mode” settings, you can decide the action taken when you press the [POWER] button on

your remote control.

Lock System

This option allows you to assign a password to your system folders in order to protect your content. The
locked folders will be accessible by password only.

Power Off

Select to switch off the power and go to standby mode.

NAS Mode

The speed and stability of streaming media files are improved when you choose this
setting. Instead of going to standby mode, the TrekStor TV goes into the NAS mode.
This mode switches off the playback circuitry of the TrekStor TV and the allotted
memory for the PLAYER function is released, which enables the system to reserve
90 percent of the memory for NAS Mode.

Confirm Window

When the [POWER] button is pressed, a "Confirmation Window" is displayed to
select between [Power OFF] and [NAS Mode].

Restore defaults

This option restores your player to the factory defaults. It will clear all the personal settings including passwords,
favorites, custom skins etc.
Using this option will not damage the data on your HDD

Important: Always reset your settings after a firmware upgrade!

HDD Format

This feature supports internal HDD format function. A new HDD is divided into a Linux Swap partition and a
NTFS partition for data. If you format using this feature instead of formatting with a PC, a Linux swap partition
is created as an independent section of the hard disk used solely for swapping and increasing the
performance of your TrekStor TV. The swap space is the amount of virtual memory available.

Effect Sound

Pressing the arrow keys plays a sound effect.

Screen Saver

This is to set the time for automatic changing images on your screen during periods of user inactivity. The
screensaver is designed to prevent burn-in on a CRT, LCD or Plasma TV when the properties of the exposed
areas on the of the screen gradually and permanently change, eventually leading to ghost image on the
screen.
You can choose between [Off / 1 Minutes / 5 Minutes / 15 Minutes / 30 Minutes / 45 Minutes].

Subtitle Default

This feature provides selection of displaying subtitles at the bottom of the screen.

3. Playback

Subtitle / ID3-Tag

You can specify the character set used for subtitle languages or ID3-tags if supported by your MP3 files.
Unicode [UTF-8] is a computing industry standard, and is set as a default value. Non-Unicode types often
lead to illegible output since the contents of the files are not verified. You can select the same language that
your subtitles are in.
Select e.g. [Setting] – [Playback] – [Subtitle/ID3-tag] – [German].

User Subtitle Font

TTF fonts allow you to combine multiple fonts into a file used for defining characters design. To use custom
fonts you need to save them on an internal HDD or USB Storage device: A “User_font” folder is automatically
created and you will be able to store several TTF font files in that folder.
Selecting and changing fonts is also supported during playback. Select [Setting] – [Playback] – [User Subtitle
Font]. ※ Depending on fonts, you may not be able to change font designs.

Resume Play

On starting your TrekStor TV, you can begin playback from the point where you previously stopped it. Your
system saves a record of the scene that was playing when you stopped playback so it knows where to
resume playing.

Slide Show Time

Using this option you can set the time that an image is displayed during a slide show.
You will be able to select between the following intervals:
[Off / 2 Seconds / 5 Seconds / 10 Seconds / 30 Seconds / 1 Minute / 2 Minutes]

ON

Display subtitle automatically if a subtitle file is present.
※ The name of the movie and the subtitle file must be identical.

OFF

Subtitle isn’t displayed.

ON

Video is played from the beginning with “Resume Playback?” message.

OFF

Video resume function is not active.

DVD Autoplay

This feature allows you to select automatic DVD play mode when inserting a DVD disk into a DVD ROM
connected to your player via USB port

Background Music

Background music is played while displaying a photo slideshow.

Transition Effect

This setting is used to choose between a range of image transitions, there are 7 major functions.
[All Effect Shuffle] is set as a default value.

Ken Burns Sideshow Effect

The function moves and zooms still photographs while they are displayed, a technique often used in
documentary films.

Auto Run – Please note: you need an internal HDD to use this feature

This feature allows you to automatically play a designated playlist when the TrekStor TV starts.
Auto-Run function detects and plays a Playlist and also enables you to organize your playlists via the TrekStor TV
Web Server. [Off / Music Playlist (Sequence) / Music Playlist (Shuffle) / Photo Playlist (Sequence) / Photo Playlist
(Shuffle) / Movie Playlist (Sequence) / Movie Playlist (Shuffle)]

Note : Add your file lists to a Playlist by selecting [Media Library] – Tap Menu [Music/Photos/Movies] in order to

run automatically. Added Playlist from [All] mode won’t be played by Auto Run.

OFF

Turns off the background music.

Folder

All music files inside a folder are played while the photos of the same folder are
displayed.

Playlist

Music files will be played, select [Media Library] – [Playlist]. There can be
several new variations on slideshow like using your captioned photos and music.

OFF

DVD Disk isn’t automatically played.

ON

DVD Disk is automatically played.

Use this setting to select the proper display resolution and video output type for your TV.

1080P 24Hz

This feature will allow you playback of 1080p 24Hz when playing Blu-ray file (BD); however, this function is

scan lines to 4:3.

LetterBox 4:3

16:9 Ratio converted to 4:3 Ratio is referred to as your TV. It will resize the image
so that it fits on a 4:3 screen without distorting it.

16:9 Video is fully displayed in 16:9 DVD frame, films with 4:3 Ratio are also displayed.

16:10

It enables you to add letterboxing bars above and below video screen, while
your TV maintains its aspect ratio of 16:9, e.g. 16:9=1920x1080 / 16:10=1920x1200.

Brightness

Brightness in video refers to the luminance portion of a video signal. It enables you to use Increase Brightness
and Decrease Brightness commands by pressing [SETUP] button on your remote during playback.

Contrast

This option tells the TrekStor TV by how much to adjust video contrast when using Increase Contrast and
Decrease Contrast commands by pressing [SETUP] button on your remote during playback.

Hue

This option determines how to the Hue adjustment enhances your colors. Along the way, you will be able to
use Increase Hue and Decrease Hue commands by pressing [SETUP] button on your remote during playback.

Saturation

Saturation is one of three coordinates in the HSL and HSV color spaces. It enables you to use Increase
Saturation and Decrease Saturation commands by pressing [SETUP] button on your remote during
playback.

Aspect Ratio

You will be able to select the Aspect Ratio of the movie screen for playback.

5-1. Wired LAN Setup

DHCP IP (AUTO)

The Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) is a networking protocol used to automatically retrieve IP
address assignments through Wired LAN. This feature is set as a default value so that IP address is
automatically assigned when connection via RJ45 is made or when rebooting. You need a network router that
assigns the IP vie DHCP in order to stream files from your PC.
※ IP address of DHCP IP may sometimes be unstable.

STATIC IP (MANUAL)

Static IP is a manual way of defining an IP address, and is used for an assigned IP address that does not
change often. Static IP is mainly used for Wired LAN. IP will be allocated by users when a fixed IP address is

needed or when a DHCP server isn’t available.

In order to connect your TrekStor TV to a wireless environment you need to plug the "USB Wireless Adapter N"
(optional) to a USB 2.0 port on the back panel of your player. The TrekStor USB Wireless Adapter N supports

802.11n protocol.

6-1. Using the TrekStor TV as a network drive

NAS Network Drive (SAMBA)

You will be able to set up “NAS” in order to optimize the network application functions.

A NAS network drive can be used as a convenient means of providing storage and file copying services for all
computers that are connected to a TrekStor TV via a network.

UPnP Media Server

You will be able to set up “UPnP Media Server” in order to provide additional network functions, and make

possible playback from connected to “UPnP AV Media Server” such as Tversity, PS3 Media Server and XBMC

Media Center. This feature supports UPnP Media Server and NFS client functions.

Web Server

It enables you to set up “Web Server” in order add web server functionality. The web server will enable

convenient uploading and downloading of files to and from TrekStor TV via a Web browser interface. You can
access your TrekStor TV from the Internet using HTTP and control the device by web remote control (browser
remote control).

FTP Server

You will be able to set up a “FTP Server”. TrekStor has a built-in FTP service that enables you to manage and
copy files to and from it through FTP connection.

Note

If you don't want to use these network functions frequently, setting [OFF] is recommended, because this
decreases memory usage and increases security.

What is UPnP?

Universal Plug and Play “UPnP” is a set of networking protocols. The UPnP architecture allows peer-to­peer networking of PCs, networked home appliances and wireless devices. It is a distributed, open
architecture protocol based on established standards such as TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP, XML and SOAP.
The goals of UPnP are to allow devices to connect seamlessly and to simplify the implementation of
networks in the home. UPnP achieves this by defining and publishing UPnP device control protocols
DCP built upon open, Internet-based communication standards.

Thumbnail View function - Thumbnails are reduced-size versions of pictures. When you are in the

“Photos” mode and you press the [PREVIEW] button, you can browse through thumbnails of all

images in the current directory, which gives you a better overview of the available images. You will not

be able to use this function in “ALL/Movies/Music” mode.

Automatic

Display of ID3 tag and Cover Art – In the “MUSIC” mode, all the music files are automatically played

in order and the highlight on the file list moves to the currently played track, displaying the correct ID3
tag and Cover Art. In the “All” mode, which doesn’t support automatic playback, the highlight remains
on the song you selected so ID3 tag and Cover Art photos are not changed.

The TrekStor TV is a FLV capable device. It allows you to watch live streaming content from hundreds

your PC.

5. How to add Movie Subtitle TTF Fonts

With the TrekStor TV media player, you can customize subtitle fonts for movie playback.
You need to use an internal HDD or an external USB storage device. You also need to
prepare the TTF font files before using your custom fonts.

1. Get ready the “TTF file font” that you want to use.

2. Copy the TTF file font into the folder [..＼＼user_font＼],
which is created automatically.

3. Press [Setting] – [Playback] – [User Subtitle Font]
and then select the font that you want to use.

You can change font setting from the “SET-UP”
menu during playback.

Tip:

Some font files may not be displayed properly.
The following subtitle types aren’t supported for TTF Font Settings: DVD internal subtitle, Blu-Ray
internal subtitle, image subtitles [idx+sub, PGS].

6. How to use the “Lock System” function

This function enables you to keep locked folders on your system, so that they cannot be altered or opened
by unauthorized persons by simply assigning it a password. Locked folder will therefore be accessible by
password only [Default password: 0000].

1. First of all, change the default password.
[Setting → System → Lock System → 0000(Default) → Set Password]

2. Enter the new password that you want to use.

3. Move the cursor to choose a folder you want to lock and then, press [FUNC] and choose [Folder Lock]

so that it will be locked.

If you have an iPhone®, iPod® Touch, iPhone® 3G, and 3GS, you can use it as a remote control via
WiFi. It is supported when the TrekStor TV is turned on, however you won’t be able to turn on the
TrekStor TV by the iPhone® remote function.

1. You should use the same Network AP for your
iPhone ® and the TrekStor TV, so that you will

need a Wireless AP Router.” Check if web server
is “ON” or not in Application menu.

2. Run Safari “Web Browser” on your iPhone ® and
then access to the web server by typing in the
allocated IP address of the TrekStor TV as the
URL.

3. Click [RC] button on the bottom of the screen to

In order to use the “Web Server” for TrekStor TV, establishing a Network and connection to a computer is

essential.

1. Firstly, check if IP address is correctly accessed in your Network.

2. Confirm the allocated IP and then setup [System] - [UPnP Media Server] - [On].

3. Enter the allocated IP address of the TrekStor TV in URL address bar. The computer and the TrekStor
TV need to be in the same local network/subnet.

- We recommend you to connect via a wired network to use the Web Server.

- Using the latest version of browsers is highly recommended.

- MS IE6 many cause problems because it lacks support for many features e.g. PNG
file support etc.

Menu Description

Login Used to set the ID and the password needed to access the web-server.

DDNS

Allows you to access your TrekStor TV over the Internet from anywhere in the
world. Simply type yourchosenname.myxtreamer.net in your browser.
The Xtreamer DDNS service is free!

HTTP

- Changes the HTTP Port (default value: 80).

- Changes the HTTP Port used if 80 Port isn’t supported, e.g. 8080.
[For instance, in the case of Korea, if you access from external, you need to change
the 80 port because it is blocked by Korea communication service. (Please make
sure to open\forward a relevant port on your router.)]

FTP Changes the FTP connection port number (default value : 21).

Live

- Makes it possible to add user specified RSS addresses when you use Xtreamer
Live. (The Web port default value must be 80!)

- Live keyword: This button enables you to connect “make” button on the TrekStor
TV key board input screen.

- If you use the keyword function, you can enter and search in different languages.

Backup/Restore Saves or restores UPnP setting value.
Language Changes the language for the UPnP media server.

NAS Mode

Blocks TV output from the TrekStor TV so that more stable network environment
can be provided.

NFS Client

It mounts NFS File System. Generally, it enables you to use the file system only for
NAS Server product by mounting.

Workgroup/Hostname

Changes the network group and hostname of the TrekStor TV in the Network.
(Default Value : myxtreamer)

TV Skin Changes or restores GUI skin.

connection link in order to run GOM/VLC/WMP Player properly.

2. Using the TrekStor TV as a NAS (Network Attached Storage)

1. Check if the IP address from your router is correctly
allocated or not.

3. For Windows® users, click [Start] - [Run] – [Example] (refer to the above image and the below examples).

If you want to use your TrekStor TV as a network drive, it needs to be in the same network and
subnet as your computer.

TIP:

You will be able to connect network drive easily if you change [myxtreamer], which is a
default value in Web Server Hostname, into a simple name, e.g. [myserver].

Type [\\192.168.124.121] if you know the allocated IP address of your TrekStor TV.

The instruction are based on the assumption that there aren’t any problems with the IP, Network

Workgroup, Computer’s name, etc. and you just need to check the security set up.

1. Click [Start] – [Control Panel] – [Administrative Tools] [Local Security Policy] – [User Rights Assignment].
1-1. Everyone, Users and Guest must be included in “Access this computer from network”.
1-2. Add Everyone, Users and Guest if any one of them is missing there.
1-3. If there are Everyone, Users and Guest in “Deny Access to this computer form the network”, delete all

of these accounts there.
1-4. Users and Guest must be included in “Log on locally”.

1. Access the menu on the TrekStor TV by selecting [Media Library] – [NET] – [My_Shorcuts].

Press [FUNC] button on your remote in
“My_Shortcuts” screen, then press the [Add] button
on the window that appears.

Enter the ID (user name) and the password for the
computer you want to access in the pop-up window for

Network Users. If you don’t use a password for logging

onto the PC, enter [guest] in the ID Section and leave
the password section blank. Once entered, save the ID
and the password by pressing [OK].

These instructions are useful if you want to create a shortcut or if you can’t search for a

computer through the network.

8. What can I do when the network function isn’t working

There can be several reasons for this. First of all, check if the TrekStor TV works with a wired
network connection. Make sure all cables are inserted properly. Also check the configuration of
your router and your computer to make sure that the connection from the TrekStor TV isn't
blocked by a firewall (Hint: you can check the log file of your firewall to see if connections from
the IP of your TrekStor TV have been blocked).

If you want to access the TrekStor TV from your computer, make sure you have activated the
necessary options in the Application Settings menu!

In most cases, the TrekStor TV uses the “Guest” account for its network connection when

accessing files stored on a computer. If the “Guest” account is disabled in Windows® operating

systems, you will not be able to connect to a shared folder.

How to activate a “Guest” account for Windows®

For Windows® XP,

(1) Select [Start] – [Control Panel] - [User accounts]

(2) Change from [Guest accounts is off] to [Guest accounts is on]
For Windows® Vista™,

(1) Select [Start] – [Control Panel] – [User accounts] – [Manage another account]
(2) Click [Guest]
(3) Change from [Guest accounts is off] to [Turn on]

Reboot PC and TrekStor TV, then you should be able to connect via the network.

10. Firmware upgrade

The firmware is the program (software) responsible for the control of your TrekStor TV. A firmware
update serves to transfer a new version of this program to the internal memory of your TrekStor TV.

※ To update the firmware, you will need a USB data storage device or an internal HDD.
※ If you want to download the latest firmware version for your TrekStor TV, go to the TrekStor

website (www.trekstor.de/en) or the Xtreamer website (www.xtreamer.net) to get it.

1. Download new firmware to your HDD or USB data storage device.
Select [Setting] – [System] – [Firmware Upgrade], look for the saved firmware file and select it.

2. After message window appears, the TrekStor TV will be rebooted, and then the Firmware update will
start.

3. You will be able to see the progress of firmware upgrade; it normally takes approximately 5 minutes
to be completed. Do not switch off your TrekStor TV during the firmware update as this may damage
the device!

- Depending on firmware, screen settings may changed to the factory default values.

- If you can’t see the screen, please connect to your TV via the composite connection.

Note: Please make sure to use a USB-Stick no bigger than 2GB. Format the stick to FAT32.

After the process is finished, you must perform a [RESTORE DEFAULT] via the [SETTINGS] menu
This will remove all your saved presets, but is necessary for the proper function of the device.

Troubleshooting

Emergency firmware update procedure:

In the unlikely case that your TrekStor TV crashes and stops responding to your remote’s commands
and you need to remove the power cord to restart, it is possible that it has problems with restarting or
will not start at all. In some cases it is necessary to install the emergency firmware to solve these
issues.

The installation procedure is as follows: ­(1) Download and Un-zip/Extract the Emergency "install.img" file

(2) Copy the “install.img” file to the root of the USB 2.0 USB-Stick or to the HDD inside the TrekStor
TV (i.e. not inside a folder).
(3) Disconnect the power supply of the TrekStor TV. Wait at least a minute. Connect your TrekStor
TV to your Television via the composite connection and select the correct input on your TV.
(4) Reconnect the power supply.
(5) Using the Remote control, press "Home" and release, press "3" and release, press "Power" and
release.
(6) After the process is finished, you must perform a [RESTORE DEFAULT] via the [SETTINGS]
menu - This will remove all your saved presets, but is necessary for proper operation.

The emergency upgrade process should be visible on your screen if performed correctly.

FAQs – Frequently asked questions:

My TrekStor TV doesn't start – There is no red LED on the player.

Please check that the power cord is plugged in.

Orange LED is blinking – The TrekStor TV is stuck on the splash screen

Unplug the player for a few minutes and then try again.
It might be necessary to perform the emergency firmware installation as described above.

I can't see anything on the TV screen

Check all the connections and cycle through the various TV-OUT options on your remote. You should
also check if your TV has different input options and choose the correct one.

Can't upgrade the firmware – after a reboot my TrekStor TV is stuck on the splash screen

Connect your player to a TV via RCA cables (composite connection) and try the procedure again.

How do I reset the TrekStor TV to factory defaults?

If you have any problems with the device, please make sure that you try to reset your player to
factory defaults via [SETTING] – [SYSTEM] menu. That will help you to avoid many possible issues.

My TrekStor TV looses wireless connection or the playback over wireless is less than perfect.

You need the USB Wireless Adapter N for wireless network connections with the TrekStor TV. To

improve your wireless connectivity and performance you can:
* Use router channels 1 or 11.

* Setup 20 MHz channel width.
* Switch router wireless band to 2.4 GHz

Using a short USB extension cable is a great way to improve the signal strength. Move the USB
Wireless Adapter N and/or your router around and check for improved connections. Sometimes a
little movement can greatly improve the wireless performance.

My TrekStor TV cannot play a video file

Not all video files are encoded to work with the TrekStor TV, i.e. in some cases a codec is used that
is incompatible with the TrekStor TV. Please check our Website for the supported codecs.
Problems can also be caused by a faulty encoding of the media or can happen due to a corrupted
download. Being able to play a file on your PC does not necessarily mean that the TrekStor TV will
be able to play back the same file flawlessly.
In case of a problem, please check if the used audio and video codecs should be supported by
comparing the codecs to the list of supported codecs that you can find on our website.
