4.1 Multiple Monitors
Using DVI-I and S-Video connectors, your RADEON™ 9800 series Graphics Card can provide dual display functionality and TV-Out from a single video card, allowing you to use two video display devices at the same time. This new technology changes the way you view your PC, TV, and video graphics.
The RADEON™ 9800 series uses HydraVision software to create seamless multiple display desktops. Multiple monitor display works like one large work area. A single application can span all monitors, or many applications can occupy their own specific monitor. This feature will take your PC’s graphics and video capabilities to the next level.

· Connecting Your RADEON™ 9800 series Graphics Card to Your
Video Display Devices
The RADEON 9800 Series Graphics Card has a 15-pin VGA port for a CRT, a DVI-I connector for a flat panel display device, and an S-Video connector for TV-out. The RADEON 9800 Series Graphics Card supports one DVI-I monitor or two VGA monitors using an optional DVI-I-to-VGA adapter. Using the S-Video connector, you can use a television with either a VGA monitor or a DVI monitor to expand your desktop. To connect a flat panel video display device to the RADEON 9800 Series use the DVI-I connector as shown on the following page. To connect a VGA monitor to the DVI-I connector, plug an optional DVI-I-to-VGA adapter into the DVI-I connector, and then plug your monitor cable into the adapter. When you use an additional monitor with your RADEON 9800 Series Graphics Card, one monitor will always be primary, with the additional monitor designated as secondary.

4.2 Multiple Monitor Controls
The Multiple Monitor control is found on the Settings tab of the Display Properties dialog box. This tab features a graphical representation of your currently connected video display(s). You can enable and disable monitors by double-clicking on the monitor number in the boxes. You can also enable or disable multiple displays and/or change color depth and screen resolution from here.
To enable a secondary display (assuming a secondary display is attached to your RADEON™ 9800 series Graphics Card):
1 Right-click on monitor labeled“2”.
2 Click Enablein the drop-down menu.
3 Click “OK”.
To change resolution or color depth:
1 Left-click the desired monitor to make it active.
2 Adjust the “Screen resolution “ slider or select a different color depth from the
“Color quality” drop-down box.
To reposition your display, click and drag the appropriate monitor to the desired position. For example, the secondary display can be dragged to the left of the
Multi-Monitor Tab
primary display. In this way you can position your secondary display either to the right or the left of the primary.
11
NOTE:
The RADEON™ 9800 series Graphics Card offers Ratiometric expansion . Ratiometric expansion (or digital panel scaling as it is commonly known) expands a low-resolution image to fill a higher resolution panel. However, Ratiometric expansion is only available on the primary display. Therefore, if a digital flat panel display is set as secondary, the extended desktop is disabled and the resolution is less than the digital flat panel display’s native resolution. This also causes the digital flat panel display to default to center mode.
