Setup

Setting Up Your Computer
Before inserting the Bluetooth® USB Adaptor into your computer, install the Bluetooth Stack for Windows® by Toshiba on the included CD.
If you use a Toshiba computer with Bluetooth® built in, you cannot use the Bluetooth same time. To use the Bluetooth click the Bluetooth Manager in the task tray and select “Power Off”.

Working Environment

The Electromagnetic Compliance (EMC) of this product has been verified typically for this product category for a so called Residential, Commercial & Light Industry Environment. Any other working environment has not been verified by Toshiba and the use of this product in these working environments is maybe restricted or cannot be recommended. Possible consequences of the use of this product in non verified working environments can be: Disturbances of other products or of this product in the nearby surrounding area with temporarily malfunction or data loss/ corruption as result. Example of non verified working environments and related advices:
Industrial environment (e.g. where 3-phase 380V mains is being used mainly): Danger of disturbances of this product due to possible strong electromagnetic fields especially near to big machinery or power units.
Medical environment: The compliance to the Medical Product Directive has not been verified by Toshiba, therefore this product cannot be used as a medical product without further verification. Traffic control equipment for air, railroad, highway and marine transportation.

Safe Use of the Bluetooth® USB Adaptor

Do not attempt to disassemble, modify, tamper with or repair product.
Disassembly, modification, tampering or repairing the product could cause fire or electric shock, possibly resulting in serious injury.
Always contact an authorized Toshiba service provider, for appropriate assistance.
Never leave the plastic bags that were used for packaging the Bluetooth

USB Adaptor or any of its components in places where children or infants will have access them, to prevent possible suffocation.

If the Bluetooth cold temperatures, always allow it to warm to room temperature before using it. This will prevent harmful condensation within the Bluetooth is particularly important when the Bluetooth Adaptor is being used in cold climates.

Areas adjacent to strong electromagnetic fields, (e.g., near loudspeakers).
Places that may be subject to strong vibrations.
Dusty areas, places that have a highly chemical atmosphere, or where contact with chemicals may be possible.

Bluetooth® wireless technology Interoperability
The Bluetooth® Card from Toshiba is designed to be interoperable with any product with Bluetooth® wireless technology that is based on Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) radio technology, and is compliant to:
n Bluetooth® Specification Ver.1.2, as defined and approved by the
Bluetooth® Special Interest Group.

The level of energy emitted by devices with Bluetooth the electromagnetic energy emitted by wireless devices such as mobile phones. Because products with Bluetooth within the guidelines found in radio frequency safety standards and recommendations, TOSHIBA believes Bluetooth safe for use by consumers. These standards and recommendations reflect the consensus of the scientific community and are a result of deliberations by panels and committees of scientists who continually review and interpret the extensive research literature.
In some situations or environments, the use of Bluetooth technology may be restricted. These situations may include:
