Introduction

Thank you for purchasing a External DVD SuperMulti drive. After installing the external drive, you can use it at any time by inserting the USB cable into your computer’s USB port. This user’s guide describes how to connect the external drive to your computer, install drivers and how to operate the drive. In addition to this user’s guide, this package contains:

System requirements
To use the external drive, your computer must meet the following hardware requirements and run one of the operating systems listed below.

Precautions and operating hints
The disc cover can be opened by pressing the OPEN button.
The disc cover can also be opened without power being supplied to the drive, by sliding the lever on the underside of the External DVD SuperMulti Drive.
The External DVD SuperMulti drive should be operated in a horizontal position, and should not be moved while it is in use.
Operate the device at within the temperature range of 41° F to 95° F (5° C to 35° C).

If the device has been transported through a wide range of temperatures allow time for the device to assume room temperature before trying to operate it, as moisture may have built up inside the device.
The External DVD SuperMulti drive should not be used in dusty or humid conditions.
Do not operate the device near a heat source. Allow the drive approximately 30 seconds to stop
spinning after switching off the power before moving the drive.
Avoid contact with any liquids. Use a soft, and dust free cleaning cloth to clean the External DVD SuperMulti Drive.
Use only the provided USB cable; otherwise, damage can occur to the drive.
Do not operate the device near a strong electromagnetic radiation source such as speakers or cell phones.

1 Turn on your computer (if it is not already on). 2 Attach the smaller connector of the USB cable to the
external drive’s USB interface.

3 Plug the other end of the USB cable into any USB
port on your computer.
Do not connect additional high-powered USB devices to the computer at the same time. If multiple high-powered devices are connected the drive's performance may be affected as well as causing the USB ports to power down.

No special software is required to install your External DVD SuperMulti drive. Your External DVD SuperMulti drive uses the Windows included in Windows®.

Software Driver and Application Installation
To start the setup program for each application: 1 Insert the Manual and Application CD-ROM into the
External DVD SuperMulti drive.
2 The Start Menu appears. 3 Click the application to install. 4 Follow the information that appears on the screen.
Chapter 4 Using the External
DVD SuperMulti Drive
The following sections present how to use the External DVD SuperMulti drive.
Inserting Discs
1 Turn on your computer. 2 Press the OPEN button to open the Disc cover and
pull the Disc cover up fully.
3 To insert a disc, hold it by the edges and place it in
the tray with the readable (plain) side down. Then, gently press down on the disc until it snaps into place.

When the OPEN button is pressed the drive will stop. If you want to continue using the disc lift the cover fully and then re-close it.
Avoid touching the readable (plain) side(s) of a disc. Touching the readable side of the disc may cause read errors, poor performance or failed operation.
Removing Discs
1 Turn on your computer. 2 Press the OPEN button to open the Disc cover and
pull the Disc cover up fully.
3 To remove a disc, grasp it by the edges and gently
pull up until the disc is removed.
Avoid touching the readable (plain) side(s) of a disc. Touching the readable side of the disc may cause read errors, poor performance or failed operation.
Do not press the OPEN button while the computer is accessing the disc. Wait for the indicator to change orange before you open the Disc cover. Also, if the disc is spinning when you open the Disc cover, wait for it to stop before you remove it.
4 Close the Disc cover.
