technology, the Toshiba MHZ2-CJ Series adds Self-

Encrypting Drive (SED) features to greatly enhance the

security of data stored on this 2.5-inch SATA hard disk

drive. Oering the highest security standard for data

storage in its class, the MHZ2-CJ Series is designed to

meet the growing need for ecient security solutions

to comply with regulatory and corporate mandates to

protect sensitive private information.

e MHZ2-CJ Series Self-Encrypting Drive features

AES-256 hardware based encryption and permits the user

to enable a high level of data security by simply setting

a password. e SED generates a 256-bit encryption

key securely inside the drive, and - unlike some software-

based encryption methods - this key never leaves the drive

and thus is never exposed in system memory. Because

encryption is hardware-based there is no impact on disk

I/O or application performance. e MHZ2-CJ Series

SED also integrates with enhanced security management

applications to enable compliance audit tracking and

secure repurposing and instant crypto-erase of disk

storage assets.
