PlacingthemyTurf™BaseStation
ChoosingasuitablelocationfortheBaseStationhasthelargestimpactonwirelessconnectivity .Y oucan
determineagoodlocationbyexaminingyouroperatingareaandequipmentmovementpatterns.Findaplace
thatmeetsthefollowingrequirements:
•Thelocationshouldbeinline-of-sightandwithin76m(250ft)ofanareaheavilytrafckedbymachines.
•Theline-of-sightcanbethroughanopeningsuchasadoororwindow.
•Thelocationmustbeindoorsandawayfromdirectexposuretotheelements.
•Theareashouldbeclearofmaterialsanditemsthatwouldweakenthetransmissionofradiowaves(i.e.,
concretewalls,microwaves,cordlessphones).Theseitemscanblock,absorb,and/ordisruptradiowaves.
•Thelocationmusthaveahigh-speedInternetconnection.
•Forsystemstartup,ensurethattheequipmentwiththenewwirelesshourmeterinstalledarewithina
9m(30ft)radiusoftheBaseStation.
•RefertoFigure3andFigure4forexamplesofBaseStationplacement.

hourmeteroneachmachineintheeet.Hourmeters
areinstalledwithvaryingstylesofmountsandbezels.
Takecarewhenremovingtheexistinghourmeterto
retainallthefastenersandbezels.
Inmostcases,hourmetersareinstalledon
dashboardsforeaseofreading,butsomemachines
