Precautions
• Read, keep and follow these instructions.
• Clean with a dry cloth only.
• Do not block any of the ventilation openings.
• When placed in a cabinet, make sure there is a minimum space of 10 centimetres around it.
• Do not install near any heat sources or in direct sunlight as this will impair cooling.
• Do not operate this product near water. Do not place any of the objects filled with liquids,
such as vases on this unit.
• Do not try to change the plug or defeat its safety purpose. If the provided plug does not fit
into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet.
• This product is designed for indoor use only.
• Place the digital receiver on a firm and level surface.
• Do not lay any objects such as magazines on this unit.
• Do not overload power outlets. Doing so may result in a risk of fire or electrical shock.
• Never open this unit’s casing under any circumstances, or the warranty will be void.
• Unplug this unit during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.
• Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Reverse engineering or disassembly is
prohibited.
• Batteries, including those which contain no heavy metals, may not be disposed with other
household wastes. Please dispose of used batteries in an environmentally sound manner.
Find out the legal regulations which apply in your area.
• The mains plug shall remain readily operable so that it can be removed easily to disconnect
the power.
• Operate the digital receiver at temperatures between 0 to 45◦C.
• The mains voltage must range between90and 250 volts. Check itbefore plugging the digital
receiver to the wall socket. For the power specification, refer to the table below.

Connecting to your TV
Choose a setup that matches the connection ports on your TV. We recommend using the HDMI
connection for the highest quality HD picture. For a higher quality use the component connection.
For a basic connection to your television use the composite connection.

Front Panel
button switches the digital receiver between standby mode and active mode.
CHANNELc,abuttons switch to the previous or next service. They are also used to navigate
in menus and interactive screens.
light blinks every time you press a button on the remote control.
STANDBY light lights up while the digital receiver is in standby mode.
Front display shows the current time in standby mode, and displays the current service in active
mode.
There is a USB port on the front panel for firmware update
and data transfer. (USB 2.0 Host 5V DC, 500 mA) If you have
an external hard drive connected to the digitalreceiver via the
USB port, you can record television programmes into it.
NOTE
We recommend you to use a separate power supply for the external hard drive.
Remote Control
• button switches the digital receiver between standby mode and active mode.
• is used to set a sleep timer in 10 minute increments.
•
V− ,
V+ buttons decrease or increase the volume. They are also used to change values for
menu options.
• mutes the sound. Press again to switch it back on.

P− ,
P+ buttons switch to the previous or next service. They are also used to navigate in
menus and interactive screens.

• Numeric buttons are used to enter a service number for service change or to specify values
for menu options.

OK displays the services list. It is also used to select a menu item.

FAV displays the favourite lists.

MENU displays the main menu. It is also used to return to the previous menu from a sub-
menu.

EXIT is used to exit a menu or to hide on-screen information.

• is used to stop playback, to stop recording, or to jump back to live television from
time-shifted television.
• is used to display the list of recorded programmes that are stored in the external hard
drive.
• resumes normal playback speed, or displays the progress bar for navigation on play-
back or time-shift. To play a recorded programme, see button .
• pauses live television or playback of a recorded programme.
• is used to start reverse playback. Subsequent presses increase the rewind speed.
• isused to start fastforward playback. Subsequent presses increase the playback speed.
• is used to start slow motion playback. Subsequent presses change the playback speed.
• is used to jump back to the beginning of the recording on playback.
• is used to jump to the end of the recording on playback.
• has different functions per menu.

• is used to make a bookmark on playback or time-shift.

Functions of the colour buttons will be guided on the screen.
NOTE
The actual images and the number of buttons may be different depending on the type of remote
control provided by the manufacturer.
First Time Installation Default Pin: ‘0000’
1 After having connected the appropriate cables from the Digital Receiver to your TV, make sure
the power cord of the Digital Receiver is plugged into a wall socket.
2 Check that your TV set is turned on.
3 Check that your TV set is on the correct video channel so that you can see the Menu from the
Digital Receiver. (ie. AV1, AV2, HDMI 1, HDMI 2, etc)
4 Insert the batteries into the remote control.
5 Press the button on the remote control or the Circular button on the front face of the unit
to turn the Digital Receiver on.
6 The main menu will appear on your screen.
Nowit’s time to scan your channels, using your

Setting up your Time
1 Press the
MENU button, and then go to Set-
tings, press OK.
2 Press OK on top of Time.
3 Make sure the Mode is set to Auto. Use left or
Right keys beside OK button.
4 Now head down to Time offset and adjust it
to the following depending on which state you
reside.
• NSW, TAS, VIC: Time offset = 10:00
• SA, NT: Time offset = 09:30
• QLD: Time offset = 10:00
• WA: Time offset = 08:00
NOTE
With daylight saving you will need to add 1 hour to the above settings.
Network Setup
You need to set up a network connection to enjoy web-enabled features on this unit. The connection can be either a wired or wireless connection.
Wired connection
1 Connect your Ethernet cable from your router
to the Toppro unit.
2 Press
MENU > Installation > Network Setting
> IP Setting.
3 Select Wired/Wireless LAN then select Wired.
4 It is recommended to usea dynamic IP address
by the router therefore select DHCP as the connection type. However if a static connection is
set then please refer to yourrouter for an IP address, Subnet Mask, Gateway, Primary DNS,
Secondary DNS.
5 Scroll down to activate profile and press
OK
on the remote.

Wireless connection
1 Connect the USB wireless dongle to the USB
port on the unit.
2 Press
MENU > Installation > Network Setting
> IP Setting.
3 Select Wired/Wireless LAN then select Wire-
less.
4 Select AP list and press OK. A list of available
networks will be shown, then select your personal network.
5 Once network is selected choose the se-
curity mode WPA/WPA2/WEP. Select your
WPA/WPA2/WEP algorithm according to
your router setting.
6 Entre the pre-shared key which is also known
as your networkpassword. Network password
must be exactly the same as your router setting
including upper/lower case and any numbers
used.
Catch-up TV Service (iview)
You can watch past programmes on ABC channel using the ABC iview. Go to Entertainment >
ABC iView menu and press OK to display the Home screen.
You can search a desired programme manually
by selecting Search menu. You can also browse
services by Categories or alphabetical index A–Z.
To view recently added programmes or those
soon to disappear from the iview, select Recently
Added or Last Chance menu respectively.

1 Press OK button on a desired programme,
then the unit starts loading the content.
2 Wait until the status message in the progress
bar changes from “Loading” to “Play”.
3 Put the highlight bar on the Play and press OK
button, then the programme will start to play.
This unit supports only limited playback control of the iview contents.
Loading time may vary depending on the contents and Internet connection speed.
Recording and Playback
Instant recording
1 Press the button on the live screen to start
recording.
2 When recording has started, press the
again to set the recording duration as shown
in the left figure.
• Duration: Set the desired recording duration with the
V− and
V+ buttons and press the
OK button; the recording will end at the specified time.
• After this program: If the information about the next programme is provided by the electronic programme guide, the current recording will stop at the time when the current programme is scheduled to end.
• After next program: The current recording will stop at the time when the next programme
is scheduled to end.
NOTE
While a recording is going on, you can play back one of the recorded programmes. To view the
recorded programme list, press the button.

To stop recording, press the button; then
a box like the left figure appears, which shows
the programmes currently being recorded. Select
recording by using navigation buttons then press
OK button to stop the recording.
Timer Recording via Guide
You can also setup a record timer from the guide which is not a Intelligent Recording (IR). This is
like setting a timer recording from the reservation screen.
1 Press the
GUIDE button to display the EPG (Electronic Programme Guide)
2 Highlight a show you want to record with the navigation buttons.
3 To make a timer recording, press the button on the selected show, then a red R is displayed.
4 If you want to edit the timer, press a second time to adjust its settings. When you have
finished adjusting the setting go down to OK , then press
OK .
Intelligent Recording(IR)
Intelligent Recording not only reserves the selected show for recording, but also makes timer
recording for all other episodes of the show found on the EPG.
1 Press the
GUIDE to display the EPG.
2 Highlight a show you want to record with the
navigation buttons.
3 To make intelligent recording, press the
button on the selected show, then the letter IR
is displayed in blue circle. At the same time
the receiver will automatically detect the same
service name on the EPG. And then, the letter
IR in gray circle will be displayed on all other
episodes of the show.
4 If you want to cancel the timer, press the
OK
button.

NOTE
• The free to air EPG (Electronic Program Guide) guide does not automatically populate.
To populate the EPG guide on every channel you must visit each service/channel at least
once a week for a few minutes or until the guide has fully populated for the full seven
days. EPG updates can also occur while you are watching TV and jumping from channel
to channel.
• Intelligent recording timers cannot be adjusted. If you would like to extend the duration
of a intelligent recording time you will need to add timer padding. You can find this
under menu/Settings/Recording. Timer padding will automatically add 1 - 30 minutes
to the start or end of all shows set to record.
Playback
1 Go to Entertainment > File List or alternatively
press the button.
2 Select a desired recording and press the
OK
button.
3 To play from beginning, set the Starting Posi-
tion option to Beginning; toplay from the point
that you have stopped at the last time, set it to
Continuing.
4 Select the Play to start playback.
5 To stop playback, press the button.
