DESCRIPTION & OPERATION

The Duct Booster® RB-Series Register Booster fans are designed to increase the flow of heated air in warm air heating systems or
cooled air in central air conditioning systems. The ultra-quiet Register Booster fans are ideal when the duct run serving the room is not

accessible to install a standard Tjernlund In-Line Duct Booster® fan. Plugs into a standard 115 VAC outlet. Control with built-in on/off
switch inside register or use a remote on/off switch or programmable timer, available from most do-it-yourself hardware stores. Optional
SCP speed control is also available from Tjernlund if desired.

INSTALLATION RESTRICTIONS

1. The Register Booster is designed for indoor use only and intended for use as described in these instructions.

2. Do not operate the Register Booster if it has a damaged power cord.

3. Do not install the Register Booster in areas that may be exposed to moisture. Do not use in areas such as a bathroom or laundry room.

4. Always disconnect the Register Booster from its power source before installation and servicing.

5. Do not operate the Register Booster with a damaged cord. Locate the Register Booster in a location where the electrical cord
will not be tripped on.

7. Do not insert any object through Grille in blower area while Register Booster is operating or damage may result. Unplug Register
Booster before maintenance or service.

8. Do not block the Register Booster Grille.

INSTALLATION

MAINTENANCE

It may be desirable to gently clean or vacuum the register booster blades periodically. WARNING: Before cleaning the Register Booster
disconnect power cord from outlet. Dust accumulation on blower fan and assembly may be gently removed with a soft cloth moistened
with a non-abrasive detergent, a soft bristle vacuum attachment or it can be blown out with compressed air. The Register Booster fan
motor is permanently lubricated and requires no oiling.

WARRANTY

WHAT IS NOT COVERED

Product installed contrary to our installation instructions.
Any freight charges related to the return of the defective part.
Product that has been altered, neglected or misused.
Any labor charges related to evaluating and replacing the defective part.

TJERNLUND LIMITED ONE YEAR WARRANTY

Tjernlund Products, Inc. warrants to the original purchaser of this product that the product will be free from defects due to faulty material or workmanship for a period of (1)
year from the date of original purchase or delivery to the original purchaser, whichever is earlier. Remedies under this warranty are limited to repairing or replacing, at our
option, any product which shall, within the above stated warranty period, be returned to Tjernlund Products, Inc. at the address listed below, postage prepaid. THERE ARE
NO WARRANTIES WHICH EXTEND BEYOND THE DESCRIPTION ON THE FACE HEREOF, AND TJERNLUND PRODUCTS, INC. EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS LIABILITY
FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM THE USE OF THIS PRODUCT. THIS WARRANTY IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER EXPRESS WAR­RANTIES AND NO AGENT IS AUTHORIZED TO ASSUME FOR US ANY LIABILITY ADDITIONAL TO THOSE SET FORTH IN THIS LIMITED WARRANTY. IMPLIED
WARRANTIES ARE LIMITED TO THE STATED DURATION OF THIS LIMITED WARRANTY. Some states do not allow limitation on how long an implied warranty lasts, so
that limitation may not apply to you. In addition, some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so that above limitation or

TYPICAL FLOOR REGISTER INSTALLATION

1. Remove floor register from register boot. Vacuum out debris from register boot before installing Register Booster. Insert the
Register Booster into register boot. If Register Booster does not fit into register boot it may be necessary to tap register boot in
select spots to get Register Booster to fit. IMPORTANT: Do not force fit the Register Booster or damage may result. Secure
Register Booster to floor with (2) screws provided.

2. Place Register Booster Grille over Register Booster and plug in 115 VAC power cord.

3. Actuate with On/Off switch located underneath Grille. A remote on/off switch or programmable timer, available at most do-it-yourself
hardware stores may be utilized with the Register Booster. Optional SCP speed control is also available from Tjernlund if desired.

INSERT REGISTER BOOSTER INTO
REGISTER BOOT. SCREW TO FLOOR.

PLUG REGISTER BOOSTER
INTO 115 VAC OUTLET.

ON/OFF SWITCH IS LOCATED
UNDERNEATH GRILLE.

ALTERNATE WALL REGISTER INSTALLATION

1. If you are using an existing wall grille and not the Grille included with the Register Booster skip to step 2. If using the Grille included
with the Register Booster, place the Grille on the Register Booster before installation and mark (2) holes to be drilled in the Grille
through the (2) holes in Register Booster flange. Drill (2) 3/16” diameter holes through the Grille.

2. Remove existing wall register/grille from register boot. Vacuum out any debris from register boot before installing Register Booster.
Insert the Register Booster into register boot. If Register Booster does not fit into register boot it may be necessary to tap regis­ter boot in select spots to get Register Booster to fit. IMPORTANT: Do not force fit the Register Booster or damage may result.
Secure Register Booster and Grille to wall with (2) screws provided. Use wall anchors if necessary. Plug in 115 VAC power cord.

3. Actuate with On/Off switch located underneath Grille. A remote on/off switch or programmable timer, available at most do-it-yourself

hardware stores may be utilized with the Register Booster. Optional SCP speed control is also available from Tjernlund if desired.
