The RAMSES®811/812 top is adigital clock thermostat for control-
lingthe room temperature.
The room thermostat RAMSES
®
811/812 top is intended for time-
and room temperature-dependenton and off switching of an electrical
load with a maximum current consumption of 6 A, such as a circula-
tion pump, a burner or a motor mixing valve. It must only be used in
dry rooms with impurities that are usual for flats or houses.
Designated use also includes adherence to the operating and mount-
ing instructions. Any other usage is not allowed. The manufacturer
cannot be held liable for damages resulting from this.
2Safety Instructions
The connection and installation of electrical devices must
only be carried out by a qualified technician.
The national regulations and respective safety instruc-
tions are to be observed.
Interferences and changes to the device will lead to can-
cellation of the warranty.

1 Designated Use
The RAMSES®818 top is a digital clock thermostat for controlling
the electric underfloor heating temperature.
The designated purpose of a RAMSES®818 top is to switch on and
off by time and with a maximum current draw of 16 A, e.g. electrical
underfloor. It may only be used in dry, domestic environments.
Designated use also includes adherence to the operating and mounting instructions. Any other usage is not allowed. The manufacturer
cannot be held liable for damages resulting from this.
2 Safety Instructions
The connection and installation of electrical devices
must only be carried out by a qualified technician.
The national regulations and respective safety instructions are to be observed.

3.2 Mounting and Electrical Connection
Connection
– Remove the connection cable from the terminal.
– Now attach the connection cable (see figure).
Heating cable test
Press the 'Info' key for approx. 4 secs. (with heating cable connected) until Test Mode appears in the display. Test Mode remains dis-
played for 8 secs. Unless the heating cable is disconnected or damaged, the green LED illuminates for the first 4 secs. in Test Mode (bottom left-hand side of the thermostat).
With the heating cable connected but not yet under the floor covering, ensure after the test that the thermostat is not set to 'Heat' (no
flame shown in the display).
It is advisable to detach the thermostat and remove from the wall.

4.1 Carrying out a Reset
After having connected the power supply or having inserted the bat-
teries (when exceeding the battery change power reserve of 10 min.),
you must carry out a Reset. For this purpose, open the hinged cover,
and press with a pointed object on the Reset bu tton which is recessed
in the case(seefigurebelow).
4.2 Inserting or E xch angi ng Batteries
(only RAMSES
®
811 top)
Only use 1.5 V batteries of the type AA, Alkaline. Replace the batter-
iesevery 1.5 years. Always replace both batteries.
When inserting, make sure the batteries are correctly polarised (see
figure).
When the inserted batteries are discharged, this is indicated in the
display by the flashing battery icon. See figure on page 16.
4.3 Selecting the Langua ge
Note: The language can also be changed in the "Service" menu (see
page 25).
4.4 Setting the Time / Date
With the ESC button you can always return to the previous program-
ming step in order to adjust a setting.

4.1 to 4.5.
