
Getting Started with TDSHT3
You can use this side of the Quick Reference Card to get
started with the Sink JitterTolerance test procedure. The
otherside containsacomplete menu treefortheTDSHT3
HDMICompliance Test Software.

4. The software remotely controls the DTG and AWG,
whichmustbeconnected by a NationalInstruments
GPIB--USB--B. ToconnecttheDUT, click Tests >
Connect.
6. To configure and testtheGPIBconnection to the DTG,
click Signal Sources.TheSignalSources Setup dialog
box appears.

range of tests, including Jitter Tolerance.
Sink JitterTolerance
This test allows you to confirm that the maximum allowed
TMDS clock jitter issupportedbytheSinkDUT.
You will needone supported oscilloscope, two differential
probes,one digital timinggenerator (DTG),onearbitrary
waveform generator(AWG),oneDCpowersupply, 12
SMA cables, two bias--tees, one cable emulator, one GPIB
controller,oneTPA--R--DI,andoneTPA--R--TDR.
Follow these steps:
1. On the menu bar, click Tests > Select > Sink.
2. In the differential testspane, select the JitterTolerance
checkbox.
3. To change the configuration settings,click Tests >
Configure. For most tests, you canusethe factory
default configuration. However,youcanchange the
valuesby usingthevirtual keyboardorthegeneral
purposeknobon the oscilloscope front panel. Using the
Filemenu,you canalso restorethefactory defaults or
save and recall yourown configuration settings.
5. Maketheconnectionsasfollows:

7. To runthetest successfully,ensure thattheBusTiming
parameterissetto 2 useconyour GPIB board
configuration.
8. Click Run Test to perform the test. The TDSHT3
HDMICompliance Test Softwaresets up the
oscilloscope and conductsthetest. Followthe
instructionsin thedialog box.Depending onyour
answer, a series of dialog boxes may promptyou for
your input.
9. If you successfully run the test, the software calculates
the jitter values and displays the results. The software
makesResultavailable automatically and displays the
result summary, the eye diagram plot, and the clock jitter
plot.You can alsoview thereport configuration details
in the result pane.
10. In theresult summary pane, click Result Details to
display the results of the tests.
