Tektronix TDSDVD Reference manual

Getting Started with TDSDVD
Y ou can use this side of the Quick Reference to get started taking measurements with the Optical Storage Analysis and Measurements Application (TDSDVD). The other side contains a complete menu tree of the TDSDVD software.
and General Safety information, refer to the Online Help for the application.
5. To take a measurement on a gated signal, select
Measurements> Gates> Cursors. If the signal is not gated, select Measurements> Gates> None.
6. Select Measurements> Select and then a measurement.
Y ou can select up to six measurements.
Results are displayed as a summary and as individual measurements (List by nT).
The TDSDVD application is designed to meet the test requirements of the CD/DVD/MO industry for current and next-generation designs. Supported tests include industry specific amplitude, timing and jitter measurements, along with the flexibility to substitute any of the signal processing blocks for testing next-generation designs.
Performing Amplitude and Timing Measurements
To take measurements, follow these steps:
1. From the oscilloscope menu bar, select File> Run
Application> Optical Storage Analysis.
2. From the application menu bar, select Measurements>
Standards and then the appropriate standard.
3. Select Measurements> Inputs> Show. Select the data
signal, data path, and the clock signal to configure the parameters.
4. In the Measurements> Inputs> Data Signal area, select
Autoset to set the threshold and hysteresis.
7. Select Measurements> Configure.
8. Select each measurement and set up the options.
9. Select the Start Single Sequence command button (a
Running Man icon) to start taking measurements.
