Operation Manual
The present operation manual is intended for studying opera­tion principle, running conditions and maintenance of 2SIM communication module Astra-GSM (hereinafter ―module‖) (Fig­ure 1). The manufacturer reserves the right to make alterations regard­ing refinement of the product without prior notification. All changes will be imported into new edition of the operation ma­nual.
1 Function
1.1 The module is designed for operation as a part of Pro-
series Astra-branded control panels (Astra-8945 Pro, Astra-712 Pro, etc.).
1.2 The module is intended for data transmission via mobile
communication channels of GSM 900/1800 MHz standard. Message standards supported:
voice messages, digital standards: Contact ID, SIA FSK, Argus-SТ, Pro-Net
and SIA-IP, – SMS (simple text and Ademco SMS), The module allows of system remote control from user mobile phone using SMS .
1.3 The module is designed for continuous round the clock
work.

4 Structure
The module is designed and delivered as a printed circuit board with radio elements (see Figure 1).

5 Installation
5.1 After transportation in conditions differing from those of
operation, the module must be kept unpacked for at least 4 hours in supposed operating conditions.
5.2 Works on installation, mounting, maintenance and
operation of the module must be performed only by persons approved for electrical installations up to 1000 V after careful study of this operation manual.
5.3 Installation Procedure
1) Switch off control panel power.
2) Remove the cover by unscrewing two screws on the lower
part of the base.
3) Remove the cap of GSM antenna insertion hole at the up-
per part of the base.
4) Install the module onto the slot A of the control panel PCB.

5) Connect GSM antenna from the module’s delivery set.
6) Insert SIM cards into the SIM holder as shown below.
7) Reinstall the cover of the control panel, tighten the two
screws at the lower part of the control panel base.
6 Setting The Module
Setting and running the module is performed by means of MSS Astra-Pro software* as described in MSS user guide.
7 Labeling
On the label, pasted to the module’s PCB, are specified:
abbreviated name of the module; firmware version; month and year of manufacture (last two digits); conformity mark (if certificate is available);
bar code duplicating the textual information.
8 EC Conformity Declaration
The module is designed in conformity with the relevant harmo­nized standards under Directive LVD 73/23/EEC+93/68/EEC: R&TTE Directive 1999/5/EC, Article 10.5 EN 60950: 2001 Safety of information technology equipment EN 50371 Generic standards to demonstrate the compliance of low-power electronic and electrical apparatuses with the basic restrictions related to human exposure to electromagnetic fields (10MHz - 300 GHz) General public EN 301489-17 V1.1.1 (09-2000) Electromagnetic Compatibility and radio spectrum Matters (ERM); Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) standard for radio equip­ment and services; Part 17: Specific conditions for wideband data Hiperlan equipment EN 300220-1 V1.3.1 (2000-09) Electromagnetic compatibility and Radio spectrum Matters (ERM); Short range devices; Technical characteristics and test methods for radio equipment to be used in the 25 MHz to 1 000 MHz fre­quency range with power levels ranging up to 500 mW; Part 1: Parameters intended for regulatory purposes
9 Recycling
The module poses no danger to life and health of people and is safe for environment. After termination of service life it should be recycled without special environment protective measures.
10 Warranty
10.1. Quality Management System meets provisions of ISO
9001-2011.
10.2. The manufacturer guarantees the compliance of the
module with technical requirements provided the transportation, storage, mounting and operating rules and requirements are observed by user.
10.3. The storage warranty time is 5 years and 6 months
from the date of manufacture.
10.4. The operation warranty time is 5 years from the date of
operation start but no longer than 5 years 6 months from the date of manufacture.
10.5. The manufacturer commits to replace or repair the
product during the warranty period.
10.6. The warranty does not come into effect in following
cases:
operation manual is missed; mechanical damage of the product; repair of the module by any other party except the manu-
facturer.
10.7. This warranty applies to the module only, not to equip-
ment of third part manufacturers jointly used with the detector.
The manufacturer bears no responsibility for death, injury, damage of property or any other kinds of accidental or
premeditated damages, based on user’s statement that
the device failed to implement its function.
