•Do not exceed the maximum fill line as boiling oil may overflow during frying and can cause severe burning.
•For best results we recommend blended vegetable oil. For sunflower oil, groundnut oil, or soya oil ensure the oil is changed after every 5 uses.
• After the bowl has been filled with oil, plug in the fryer without the frying basket ; the temperature indicator light will come on.
• Turn the temperature thermostat to the desired setting (see cooking table p. 7). Note : The temperature indicator light will turn off when the correct temperature has been reached.
• If you use solid vegetable fat: Cut it into small pieces, melt it in a separate pan then pour the melted fat into the fryer bowl. After one use, you can melt the fat in your fryer at 150°. When remelting solidified fat, break up the surface with a fork to prevent splashes.
Preparing the fryer
Never use different types of oil at the same time as this may cause the oil to overflow.
!
Never melt the fat on the heating element or in the frying basket.
Never use lard or dripping as this may cause overflowing, smoking or risk of fire.
!
Do not plug in the fryer without oil.

Frying process
Serving the food
• Place food in the basket without overfilling. Notice the max food level marking on the basket
• After the temperature indicator light has gone out, place and lower the basket slowly into the frying oil. Plunging the basket too rapidly in the oil may cause it to overflow. Put the lid (depending on model) on the fryer. For models without filter and viewing window, never leave the lid on while cooking.
•Frying is complete when cooking time has elapsed and food is of the desired colour and texture.
• When frying is complete, turn the thermostat down to the lowest setting (
) and unplug
the fryer. NB: the fryer will not switch itself off.
• Remove the lid (depending on model). Never drain it over the oil.
•Allow excess oil to drain by hooking the basket on the support on the inner bowl.
• Serve.
Do not touch the fryer when it is in use as it will be extremely hot and can cause severe burns. Steam coming from the filter is also extremely hot.
No matter what the recipe, food must be dried thoroughly before frying. This will prevent the oil overflowing and extend the life of the oil.

The cooking times are a guide only. They could vary depending on quantity, taste, electricity supply etc...
It is important to fry freshly made chips twice for best results and to prevent the oil from overflowing:
- a first fry at 160 °C
- a second fry at 190 °C For safety and for the crispiest results, dry food items thoroughly before frying, especially frozen foods and freshly made chipped potatoes. Large pieces of chicken or large chips need a longer cooking time. Set the temperature thermostat according to the table below, or follow the instructions on food packaging. Cooks tip: When cooking battered foods or doughnuts, remove the wire basket to prevent food sticking to it. Take great care when handling the food and use tongs. Gradually place the food in the hot oil, submerging it an inch at a time to prevent it from sinking straight away.

We recommend you to:
- Control the cooking: do not eat very brown or burnt food, but golden food.
- Clean your oil after each use to avoid burnt crumbs and change it regularly.
- Eat a balanced and varied diet which includes plenty of fruits and vegetables. For quality, fast cooking limit the quantity of chips to 1/2 basket per frying.
