Introduction
Welcome to the superfast Internet world of upc cablecom.
In the following, we will show you how to set up your WLAN modem correctly, and we will give you tips how to improve wireless transmission.
For optimal wireless transmission, you require a wireless receiver that supports the wireless standard 802.11n. Older standards also work, but have a lower transmission capacity. For details, please refer to chapter “Tips & Tricks”.
If your computer does not have a built-in wireless receiver, we recommend an external WLAN USB stick.

(Windows & MAC)
If your computer does not have a CD/DVD drive, please follow the instructions for manual installation described in the following section.
The installation is very simple with the Installer CD that comes with the Internet & Phone Manual. This shows you how to correctly cable your WLAN modem step by step. In addition, the Installer CD also establishes the wireless connection between the WLAN modem and your computer and, with a Windows XP operating system, optimises the settings used for Internet access.
The later Windows or Mac OS X operating systems have already been configured for very high bandwidths and do not usually need to be adjusted.
Connect the WLAN modem and the cables as described. For manual installation, the WLAN modem does not need to be connected to the computer.
