This Taylor® N utritional S cale is designed for precise measuring of ingredients or
portion s and f or the be tter underst anding of various nut ritional val ues (fat
content , salt content, chole sterol, carb ohydrate, fi ber, protein and ca lories) for
food or ingred ients in cooking, baking, or just general dietary consum ption.
This scale off ers a com plete databa se on nut ritional val ue information on ove r 900
foods or ingre dients as listed in the USDA Nationa l Nutrient Database f or
Standar d Refe rences relea se 15.This includes n utrition values for m ost commonly
used ingredients, foods as well as liquids!
Additio nally, this scale with its 99 memory entr y capacity has the facility to make
multipl e food entries and help you keep trac k over an extended period of time and
store it in its memory. At the end of the day o r week (or anytime in between) the
total accumulated calories, fat grams or mg of salt, etc, that have been entered
into the scale memory c an be rec alled. All these feat ures make this
scale ideal for everyday and dietary purposes.
Battery Information
This scale ope rates on 2 CR2032 lithium batt eries (inclu ded). Please remove a ny
plastic strips from the battery com partment befor e continuing with the se
instruc tions (you may need to remov e the bat tery compart ment cover to avoid
breakin g the s trip).
Your Taylor® scale i s equipped with a low battery indicator. It will display “ ”
or readings wi ll grow d im or bec ome irregula r if the batteries need replac ement.
Always replace both batterie s at the same ti me; do no t combine old and new
batteri es.
To replace the batteries:
1. Remove the battery compartment cover.
2. Remove the old batteries.
3. P lace the new batterie s into the battery compartment with the “+” signs
showing.
4. Replace the battery compartment cover
To Turn the Scale On and Off:
Press the "On/Tare /Off" button to turn the scale on. Press it again to turn the scale
off.
NOTE: The scale will turn off auto matically af ter 2 min utes of n on-use.
TIP: Using the "On/Tare/Off" button to turn the scal e off aft er use will prolong the
battery life.
To Change the Units of Measurement:
Your scale is set t o weigh in pounds/o unces. To change to grams, p ress the
“g/oz/lb” button.

General Weighing Operation
1. Place the scale on a hard, level surfa ce. Uneven surfaces may affect accuracy.
2. Press t he "On/Tare/Off" bu tton to t urn the scale on.
3. Place the item to be weighed onto the platform. The weight will di splay. As y ou
add weight, th e weight displayed in creases.
4. When the weight is removed, t he display will retur n to zero .
5. When finished , press the "On/Tare/Off" button to turn the scale off.
To Weigh Using a Container
You may wi sh to w eigh ingredien ts in a bowl or other con tainer (not included). In
this case, you will nee d to tare , or of fset, the weight of the bowl so that only the
weight of the ingredients is displa yed.
1. C hoose a container t hat will safely balan ce on the platform without tip ping or
falling. Do not use a heavy container, as this might redu ce the maximum
capacit y of th e scale.
2. W hile the scale is off, place the empty container on the sc ale platform . Turn the
scale on. The display w ill turn on and then show a zero display. The weight of
the container has been zeroed out.
3. A dd the ingredient to be weig hed. The weight of the ingredi ent alone will
display.
4. The display will sho w a negat ive number when the items ar e removed from the
scale. To rese t the s cale back to zero for a n ew measureme nt, press the
“On/Tare/Off” button until the disp lay resets to zero.
To Add and Weigh (Tare Function):
You may wish to weigh several ingredients at once. To weigh several different
ingredients, press the "On/Tare/Off" button to reset the display between each
ingredient.
NOTE : When weights have been tared out, the display will show a negative number
when the items are removed from the scale.To reset the scale back to zero for a new
measurement, press the "On/Tare/Off" button.
To Display Nutritional Values
1. Press t he “On/Tare/Off” bu tton to turn the scale on
2. P lace food item to be weighed on the platform.
3. Clear the food code if necess ary by pr essing the “C/MC” but ton.
4. Refer t o the t able in t his manual and identi fy the 3 digit c ode for t he food item
being weighed (for example, 834 for honey).
5. Use the numerical ke ys (0 – 9) to enter the 3 digit code
6. When the 3 digit food code appears o n the scr een, press the corres ponding
nutriti onal button to displa y a nut ritional value ..
● Press "Kcal" to view calories
● Press "Sod" to view sodium
● Press "Fib" to view fiber
● Press "Chol" to view cholesterol
● Press "Prot" to view protein
● Press "Carb" to view carbohydrates
● Press "Fat" to view fat
7. Press t he “C/MC” button to clear the food code and re turn to t he weight display.
Note: if a fo od does not contain a partic ular nutrient, the di splay will show zero.
For example, h oney does not contain protein, so the screen will show “0. 00” when
the “Prot” butto n is pres sed.

To Save Nutritional Values into Memory
1. Follow steps 1 – 6 of th e 'To Display Nutri tional Valu es' section.
2. Press t he “M+” b utton to add the food item being weig hed to memory.
3. “M01” will be shown at the upper right corner o f the display to indicate that one
set of values has been saved to memory. To add add itional food items to
memory, repeat the previous steps.
NOTE: The memory is saved permanently, even if the scale is switch ed off ex cept
when the batte ries are removed.
NOTE: The maximum number of food i tems that can be added to the memory is
99. When the memory num ber reaches 99 the display w ill show “nutFl“. The
memory must be cleared by following the inst ructions in the 'To Clear Me mory'
section .
To Recall Memory
1. Press t he “MR” b utton to see the total ingre dients of the food items store d to
memory.
2.Ó is dis played next to the memory number indicator to indic ate that the total
memory is bein g displayed.
3. Press a nutrition button t o view a nutrition value for the food item sto red in
memory. NOTE: It is not possible to display t he total weight of the food items
stored to memo ry.
To Clear Memory
1. Press t he "MR" b utton.
2. Press t he "C/MC" button.
3. The memory is cleare d when th e memory indicator an d memory number are no
longer displayed. NOTE: the scale can only sto re up to 99 food s in memo ry. If
over 99 items are store d, the di splay will show “nutF l” .Pres s MC to clear th e
memory.

Precautions
1. C lean exposed parts with a so ft, slightly damp clo th. To remove stain s, use a
mild soap. Nev er use de tergents, ex cess water, treated c loths, harsh cleaning
agents, or spr ays. Avoid contact with aci ds, such as citrus juices.
2. Do not t amper with the scale' s internal components. Doing so will inval idate the
warrant y on th is unit a nd may cause damage. The sca le contains no user-
service able parts.
3. Although your scale is designed to be maintenance-free, it contains sensitive
electro nic parts. Avoid rough trea tment. Treat it with c are to en sure the best
perform ance.
4. This scale is intend ed for ho me/consumer use only. It is not intended for
commerc ial or medical use.
5. This scale is design ed to rea d weights up to 11 lbs/5 kgs. To prevent dam age,
do not place more than 11 lbs/5 kgs on it.
6. Do not s tore scale where you store c leaning chemic als. The vapors from some
househo ld products may affec t the e lectronic comp onents of your scal e. Do not
store scale on its side .
7. This scale is an extremely se nsitive weig hing device. In order to preve nt run
down of the battery, do not store anything on the scale.
8. Do not d ispose of batteries i n fire. B atteries may explode or leak. When
replaci ng the batteries, do not mix old and new batte ries. Do not mix alkaline
standar d (carbon-zi nc) or re chargeable ( nickel-cadmium) batt eries. Remove the
batteri es if the scale will not be used for a lo ng period of time.
9. Should “Error ” appear on the display d uring a w eighing, this indica tes that the
maximum weighing capacity of the sc ale has b een exceeded . Remove the we ight
immedia tely; otherw ise, permanent damage could occur.
The nutritional values provided by this product are
general in nature and should be used as a guide. The
values of products you purchase or make may differ
from these figures, as foods do vary across brands, and
in the manner they may be prepared.

Taylor® warrants this product to be free from defects in material or workmanship for one
(1) year from date of original purchase. It does not cover damages or wear resulting from
accident, misuse, abuse, commercial use, or unauthorized adjustment and/or repair. If
service is required, do not return to retailer. Should this product require service (or
replacement at our option), please pack the item carefully and return it prepaid, along
with store receipt showing the date of purchase and a note explaining reason for return
