TMAA05-05/TMAA05-06 GPS Receivers Installation Instructions
Introduction
The TMAA05-05 and TMAA05-06 GPS receivers integrate a high performance 16-channel GPS receiver into a fully weatherproof, IP67-rated housing.
The TMAA05-05 has a magnetic mount housing, and the TMAA05-06 allows for through-hole mount for permanent installation.
Both GPS receivers include an adapter cable connecting to the auxiliary connector of your mobile radio, and a connector cover to provide additional retention for the mini-DIN connector.
The adapter cable’s 15-way connector contains a voltage regulator providing the correct voltage from the radio to the GPS receiver.
The GPS receivers operate at a frequency of
1575.42MHz (±10MHz).

Installation Precautions
Warning When mounting the GPS receiver inside a vehicle, make sure you mount
it securely. Unsecured equipment is dangerous to the vehicle occupants.
Notice When drilling holes in a vehicle, check that drilling at the selected points will not damage existing wiring, fuel tanks, fuel lines, brake pipes or battery cables.
Notice GPS accuracy may be influenced by close radiation sources (such as transmitting radio antennas). This must be taken into consideration when choosing the mounting location of the GPS antenna and cabling. If unsure please contact your radio provider.
GPS Receiver Installation
1 Drill any holes required for the cables and install suitable grommets or bushings in the
holes.
2 Run the adapter cable to the radio and plug it into the 15-way auxiliary connector.
3 Position the GPS receiver where it has an uninterrupted view of the sky. This can be on
the roof of the vehicle or on the rear parcel tray in the vehicle.

cable, and connect using the mini-DIN plug and socket. For the correct orientation, line up the arrow with the dash symbol.
6 (Optional) Place one half of the connector cover on one side of the connected mini-
DIN plug and socket. Place the other half of the connector cover on the other side (making sure you orient it the correct way so the notches line up), and snap the two halves in place. If additional retention is required, fasten cable ties or similar through the square holes on each side of the cover.
To remove an installed connector cover so it is reusable, use a small flat-head screwdriver to release one clip, and hold so that clip remains open while releasing the other clip at the same end. Use the same technique to release the clips at the other end, and then ease the two halves of the cover apart.
7 Tie up any unused cables.
