TA2453-20 Mobile Utilities Rdaio
Modem Fitting Instructions
These instructions describe how to fit the TA2453-20
Mobile Utilities Rdaio Modem inside the TM8000 radio.
1. Remove (if fitted) protective rubber cap from options
connector cavity on radio lid.
2. Plug one end of internal options loom into J1 micromatch socket on top side of PCB.
3. Turn PCB over so bottom side of PCB faces upwards.
4. Fit foam seal over D-range connector and, aligning
PCB holes with mounting posts in radio lid, fit
connector into options connector cavity on side of
radio lid.
5. From outside of radio lid, fit two Hexlok fasteners to
D-range connector, and up to torque (0.9Nm/8in.lb).
6. Fit nine M3x8 self-tapping screws into screw holes
on PCB and tighten.
7. Plug remaining end of internal options loom into
PL103 on Main PCB inside TM8000 radio.
8. Fit control head, radio lid and top cover to radio,
using standard TM8000 assembly procedures.
