Studio Condenser Microphone
Designed for critical home/project/professional studio applications and live performance, these
side-address supercardioid studio condenser microphones deliver exceptional detail and low
noise. Along with its rugged construction and high-performance specifications, the E202, E205
and E206 provide an exceptional level of consistency from model to model. It comes equipped
with a pivoting stand mount and a protective pouch.

General Rules for Use
• For best signal to noise ratio, distance from the microphone to the sound source shall be as short
as possible.
• The sensitivity of a supercardioid microphone is highest on axis and lowest at 120 to 135 degrees.
• To reduce crosstalk between microphones, an 1:3 guide line shall be follow: The distance between
microphone A to the sound source A is “ 1” , the distance between any other microphone to the
sound source A shall be more than 3 times.

Proximity Effect
When the supercardioid microphone get closer to the sound source, the low frequency response is
boosted, as so call “proximity effect”. Experience engineer takes advantages of the proximity effect to
improve the richness of instrument sound or to increase the bass of the instrument as if an extremely
high quality equalizer is used. Same ideas to reduce the bass by increase the distance to reduce the
bass when needed.
Mounting the Microphone
Sturdy drum clamp and stand can set the microphone exactly at the sweet spot and keep it there.

Maintenance
Microphones shall be kept in low humidity environment for best sound performance. Store the
microphones in air-conditioned room or dehumidifier to keep away from moisture. Clean air is another
important factor. Keep away from smoking environment to avoid tar residuals.

一般使用原则
• 话筒与音源的距离愈近愈能取得较高的讯噪比，避免拾取过多的环境噪声。
• 超心形指向话筒在轴向上可取得最高的声压，但在120度到135度之间是最低的。返馈音箱
的投射角度若是在120度与135度之间，是避免回授发生的最佳方位。
• 避免话筒间的串音，请留意1:3的原则:话筒A到音源A的距离是1，任何两支话筒间的距离应
该是3或则是大于3倍。

近接效应
当心形或超心形话筒很靠近音源时，低频会增强，我们称为近接效应。有经验的音响工程师
会利用话筒的近接效应来适当地丰富低音的强度及厚度，这种现象就好像是用了极高质量的
均衡器一般。相同的概念，也可用在减少低频响应上，只要增加话筒与音源的距离就可以了。
话筒的摆设
稳固的脚架，可将话筒固定在一个最佳的收音位置上。选择重量够及稳定的脚架是很有帮助

保养
话筒请存放在干燥的地方。储存的地方最好含有空调及除湿功能，以避免湿气影响声音的表
现。远离抽烟或是有油烟的环境，以免焦油残留在话筒上。
